Relaxing, and location of hotel. Nicely decorated, and oldie country feel.
The bed. Felt as if we were sleeping on a ferry crossing. The extractor fan noise from kitchen. Too hot in rooms and corridor.
Very well cooked breakfast Lovely pool though not large Friendly, helpful staff
Noise of external extractor fan Road sign in village which pointed wrong way Cramped stairway to negotiate with luggage
Stair case -lack of banisters Twin rooms should have individual Reading lamps Bulbs far too low for comfortable reading
Helpful staff, decent sized room well furnished, good breakfast. Pool looked nice tho didn't use due not there long enough..
Room (212) v noisy in morning - thin walls, pipes, shower next door, doors opening next door room etc..
Very clean lovely rooms. Very quick service for breakfast. Friendly staff.
Too hot in room. Very noisy from banging doors. Toilet didn't flush properly.
We had a beautiful room with a four poster bed and Jacuzzi bath. It felt like a real treat - very luxurious! Good breakfast too.
Unfortunately the mattress was quite hard which affected the quality of my sleep.
- Clean, modern bathroom despite it being compact - Decent full English breakfast
- Hassle to check in late - Mosquito in room as window was open when we arrived - Hairs and fluff on the carpet and towels - not from us so didn't look well cleaned
olde world nice gardens
Excellent dinner and breakfast. Lovely pool and pedicure. Old world charm and staff were very helpful.
They need Air Conditioning in the top bedrooms.

Lack of bar snacks
Good quality furniture. Parking. Apparently a great many facilities that I did not get the chance to use as I arrived at 8.30pm after a long and tiring drive. Large shower. Room reasonably clean except for carpet - once good quality but had many stains. Good sized TV.
My stay was totally ruined by: My Room. Very small double at top of hotel, accessed by many stairs and confusing corridors. Both immediate corridor and room were totally and unbearably airless and boiling hot. Small window looking out on a blank wall had only two small opening areas which did not let in any air whatsoever. A additional small skylight would not open. A small fan which had to be left on all night on the bedside table made it too noisy for sleep - the only other option was to die of heat or sleep in the shower. The fan was pretty ineffectual but draping myself in a soaking wet towel helped slightly. I don't think I should have to do this to attain barely minimal comfort. Tiny bathroom (though with large shower), no window. On opening the door it was like walking into an oven. I asked to be moved but no room was available apparently. The guy on duty couldn't have cared less about my comfort or lack of it. He did help me upstairs with my case (one small plus point), then left saying 'enjoy your stay' - ha ha. If it had not meant dragging my luggage down two flights of stairs and along miles of corridor after a long drive, I would have slept in the car and refused to pay the bill. I had a sleepless night and was ill all the next day from this and the unbearable heat of the room. I did mention my dissatisfaction when paying, and the manageress was supposed to phone me. My mobile rang some time later when I was negotiating a roundabout, so I could not answer. If this was she, she did not bother again. A piece of chocolate on my pillow and the use of a bathrobe - which in the dreadful heat I did not touch - did not make up for a sleepless unbearable night and lousy customer service, however luxurious the hotel is supposed to be and however many five star reviews it has. Definitely NOT worth the 'discounted' price of £74 which I paid, and I would never stay there again.
Very noisy (we had an air conditioning engine outside our window) and definitely not relaxing. After 7.30am it gets noisy and you can pretty much hear slamming doors, people muttering, running water from the outside garden (not actually that bad) and if you are unlucky like us, the air conditioning system going on and off every 5 seconds...
The side door opened out on to a small planted area.
The furniture in the room was really dusty in the grooves of the larger than life furniture. The carpet was really grubby and stained.
Room immediately above where staff have their cigarettes and break.,smell of the smoke enters the room.
The fact that despite the "Welcome information" in the room suggesting that the bar was open until 11pm, upon returning to the hotel at 10.20pm expecting a nightcap, the bar was closed and the entire hotel was being locked down for the night.
Calm atmosphere, pleasant and helpful staff, excellent cooked breakfast, very quiet after 10.30pm so a good nights sleep guaranteed. Village location, spa and swimming pool, all this and more meant I could relax away from work meetings. Definitely going to stay again but next time purely for pleasure.
Nothing: it was perfect.
Our room was nice. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was enjoyable.
I was put off right away by there being no one to check us in--except a waitress who appeared, in an apron, and briskly checked us in without any sort of greeting, while grim-faced wait-staff pushed by us with plates to get to the restaurant. The waitress/check-in person further alarmed me by continually coughing into her hand, then using the hand to give us our credit card. The choices at breakfast were much fewer and less interesting than at the previous (and cheaper) place we'd stayed. There was no one on duty again when we checked out the next day and no bell to ring, so we had time to stare at the many un-welcoming notices about not taking checks, etc. I absolutely felt that £169 was too much for what we got.
The staff were all so friendly and accommodating in all respects. The breakfasts were very nice and well presented too. We used the swimming pool every day and it was beautifully clean with changing rooms and a shower plus a toilet right at hand so a wonderful experience. The room was cleaned daily and to an extremely high standard. We will most definitely revisit but ask for a ground floor room.
Our room was like a sauna on the first floor as only opened to 12"x5" so not much air getting in and only 3 would actually open. Air conditioning is very much needed in the rooms with little windows plus the first floor corridors had no air coming in so very hot too.
Not very much.
Breakfast room cleanleness Bathroom was dirty
the hotel setting
Staff would have got an excellent! if the service at breakfast was a wee bit better... the waitress was lone working!
Our stay was fantastic helpful friendly staff good food and great facilities and location
Nothing i didn't like at all
Good food and service in the evening.
The room was far to hot for a comfortable nights sleep.
Room is beautiful and bed is really comfortable. Breakfast is really nice and good value for money.
Car park is too small so couldn't get parked first time.
