Well located. Charming room
Prices a bit high however this was due to the Fringe Festival.
Quite area, good transport links to city centre if you do not wish to travel by taxi. Owners friendly and always willing to help. I have stayed at 5 star rated properties which donot match this 4 star property.
Cannot think of anything, Sorry.
Breakfast was good with fair choice. Downside was that you had to choose what you wanted the night before.
Bed could have been more comfortable and less noisy. Overall decent place to stay but I thought expensive.
Peace and bed was comfortable friendly service
Seasoning on all the food, asked for room to made up beds where not made cups not washed just turned upside down not even given anymore tea bags, room was not cleaned properly considering how much it cost was disappointed
It was clean
The bathroom was too small, The breakfast was basic.
the guest house is in a lovely quiet area with Holywwd Park not far away salisbury craggs and Arthurs Seat offer marvellous views though the near by bus route was excellent
just a little far out of the centre to pop back for 5mins during the day in order to feel refreshed for an evening
Location and the owners.
The guest house and it's staff
Our room with four poster bed was fantastic and the steam room was amazing.
nice location friendly staff good breakfast
small room for a family of 3 wi-fi in the lobby but not in our room we asked for twin beds and had queen beds room need a renovation (broken lamps, paintings)
The staff is very friendly und makes you feel at home. The breakfast is excellent. The public transport connection is very good; the next bus stop is at walking distance, the buses run frequently and reliably and take you right to the city centre. We had a lovely stay at Aonach Mor Guest House.
Great hosts - friendly, flexible, helpful - can't fault them. Multi-lingual too! Well equipped room, with TV, tea/coffee facilities. Towels provided. Comfy bed. Good choice of food on the breakfast menu. We didn't use it, but they have a wi-fi service available. Easy access to city centre using the bus service. Regular buses.
Very welcoming and fab breakfast
Tv was on the small side but I am clutching at straws
Helpful and friendly staff. Good breakfast, Good Wifi. Good location relative to bus services to centre and easy to park car
As we don't mind walking and we were lucky with the weather, the location was good, though a little way out of the city centre! It was a good base for site seeing, and public transport if needed was good!
Very small room for the price we paid, was not very well equipped though we paid for the best room in the guest house we expected more for the money! although it had a steam shower and four poster bed, the room was very poky and décor was tired, dusty and windows rattled, the tv in the room was faulty, and was pointed out to the staff but was not dealt with during our stay! Breakfast was just fair! The advertised fresh scottish smoked kippers were what i would say were the supermarket boil in the bag type!!
Difficult to park. Smallish room and cramped en-suite. Not much space for hanging clothes.
Very friendly hosts and extremely accommodating, good local advice and more than happy to help out with locations of nearby things, helped us find a post office and laundromat. Easy to get to and free street parking around, area seems pretty safe and a few places nearby to get food. Breakfast was awesome as well, very tasty and well presented. Bed was nice and soft. Use the bus to get into town, it stops nearby. Would definitely stay here again.
Shower needed a little cleaning but otherwise it was fine.
Super-Amazing Breakfast Lovely place
The couple was very nice. The man gave us directions to the bus stop and told us which bus to take to get to the Royal Mile. The breakfast choices were plentiful, and the food was good.
Our room wasn't serviced even though we were out all day. It's a good thing we had hung up our towels instead of dropping them on the floor to be replaced.
loved the power shower and comfy bed and the food was cooked perfect and tim and veronica was helpful and a very lovely couple and we hope to see them again
would have liked more choice of cereals and fresh fruit also more coat hangers in wardrobe and shower cap in bathroom I do know tim and veronica have only recently taken over and hope this review will help them
The four poster bed. Car to park in the street and easy by bus to the centre of the city.
To much dust in room and breakfast room. Not clean enough. Light above the shower damaged and dangerous. Breakfast only to select the day before nr. 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 (that means no croissant etc. when you choose for scrambled eggs).
Fiona and Tom were the best hosts. The breakfast was wonderful. I would stay there again...in a minute
Lovely breakfast. Great location to get in and out of the city on the local bus service.
Location was good for my purposes (about a 10m walk to my conference venue). Depending upon what you ordered, the cooked breakfast could be quite tasty, but regardless was plentiful enough that you wouldn't start your day hungry. The owners -- or, to be precise, the parents of one of the owners -- were very welcoming when I first arrived, which was great at the end of a long day of travel.
The room was a bit on the small side (just about enough space for a single bed, a small wardrobe at the foot, a basin under the window and a side table for an electric kettle), but was sufficient for my needs. More importantly, however, the wi-fi was iffy at best. Upon arrival, an incorrect router password was provided, which meant that the first night I couldn't actually get online to check anything before my conference. Although this was corrected the next day, even with the right password the wi-fi connection kept dropping and when connected the data transfer rates were very slow (to the point of actually having to wait a minute for a simple web page to load). I was only on the first floor, so I don't think this was due to being too far from the router. My suspicion is that the owners have opted for a 'budget broadband' option that is clearly unsuitable if you are providing internet access to an entire B&B of guests, many of whom will be young travellers with multiple portable devices. This could easily be improved simply by upgrading to a fibre optic broadband package, say 40 or 80 Mbps as are offered by BT and Sky.
Everything. Excellent in every way.
