My wife and I had a great stay in the well situated Apex hotel. The staff were excellent and very polite and attentive. Would stay there again next time in Edinburgh. ☺
Nothing disliked at all.
Room, free toiletrys.
Great location very central, most attractions walkable. Very helpfull and friendly staff, good sized room with good facilities.
Nothing to dislike.
Enjoyed our stay very much. The food and our room was excellent. The staff were very nice and nothing was a problem.
Unfortunately my fork at breakfast was dirty, but was replaced without any fuss. After walking about Edinburgh we like to chill and watch a DVD in the evening.Unfortunately the sound only goes up to 25 max on the handset . I had to put on the subtitles. We did not complain as it was 9:30 Sunday evening.
Breakfast and location
Bar area, cold, not adequate, a big let down and missed opportunity for hotel.
Lovely bedroom and huge big bath.
Breakfast croissants a bit stale. There are lots of companies in edinburgh who supply fresh croissants. Not a deal breaker but so easy to change
Hotel didn't have details of booking from booking.com so no family room was available. My son had to sleep on a sofa, not even a sofa bed. No towels and heating not working! Moved to a slightly better room for 2nd night but still had to pay full price - staff not very forthcoming with a resolution. Travel Lodge was next door, I'm pretty sure we would have had the same nights sleep or better for half the price!
Located very near to centre - easy to walk to sites. New Years eve dinner was excellent. Day staff friendly.
Cost averaged at £266 a night. Room was small and furnishings very tired and dark. The worst view I have ever had from a hotel room. Very disappointing for the amount of money spent:-( Booked in very late. Night staff not very friendly and made me feel uncomfortable.
Unfortunately I had an accident on the bus before I got there. Linda was so wonderful and helpful and walked the "extra mile" the Xmas week we stayed there, to help and support us. Everything about the Hotel was wonderful. I can not wait to go again. Well done Linda!!
All the staff were smart and very friendly. The breakfast was good and plentiful. The location was very convenient for the city and rail travel in particular.
The bathroom needed some form of heating as it was very large and well equipped but also chilly. Room 849
Location & ease of check in
Room was a bit on the cool side.
Restaurant was lovely, the hotel staff where brilliant from the cleaners to the concierge, room was comfortable and the location excellent. I can not rave about our stay enough!
If I'm being extremely picky room view wasn't spectacular! This is the only downside.
Room was very clean. Great shower. Very comfy beds. Every facility available in the room that you would need.
Couldn't get access to wifi, unless I was doing something wrong.
The room,pool,Central location.
Room Food Helpfullness of staff
Room and bed size, spa, and friendly staff
Impersonal atmosphere in bar, cold air between changing rooms and pool.
The location excellent for train, city centre and for theatre.
We used this hotel as a base for a short (birthday) break in Edinburgh. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the room upgrade was good value for money.
With the exception of the bathroom the standard of lighting in the room was disappointing. Concentrating more on mood than effectiveness, this resulted in a gloomy effect in the January darkness. The lobby and wardrobe areas were particularly poor, making it impossible to use the tea making facilities safely.
Facilities location staff everything was great in fact near perfect x
Excellent location and facilities to match. Staff friendly and helpful. I will definately stay here again and recommend to my friends.
The leisure facilities are superb
Hotel was well presented and easily accessible from Waverley Station. Bar staff were very responsive given the time of the year (it was very busy!).
We were rudely awoken in the morning to the sound of water dripping on the bed, this turned into a torrent that came through the light fittings and sprinkler system. Long story short, we got an apology and our previous nights supper and drinks waived - that was it. Six hours later on checkout, I asked if they had found out what the problem was, they said that they hadn't been into the room above yet! Breakfast was disappointing, it had obviously been on the hot plate for some time. Unfortunate circumstances, did the job though.
Interior Design / Spa, Gym + Swim Pool / Bar and bar meals / Adjacency to airport bud terminus / Adjacency to major railway station / Asjacency to Princes Atreet / Cleanliness/ / Breajfast offer / Reasonably priced especially if booking early.
Dining offer in Main Restaurant / Ciurses too small and pretentious

Noisy (air conditioning, inadequate wall/door sound proofing). Long wait at checkin. Only desk/chair, no lounge chair.
