A very busy hotel which was well staffed. It is ideally situated for many of the attractions of Edinburgh. Bedroom was spacious and provided all that was needed for or stay. Quality of the breakfast was excellent. There was a problem with the air conditioning in the room which was promptly put right after speaking to reception. There was no means of heating in the bathroom, heated towel rail or warm air vent so it was rather cold.

I thought the hotel was beautiful and so central. The staff were extremely helpful, we had a lovely receptionist and the young man who worked in the bar was great. The only thing that I was disappointed with was the swimming pool. I paid a lot to stay at this hotel because my partner is a keen swimmer and it was his birthday. But I was extremely unhappy that it was so small. Wish the rate had included breakfast!!

The Apex Waterloo was an excellent choice for our city break - ideal location just 2 minutes' walk from Waverley train station and 5 mins' walk from the Airport shuttle bus-stop, plus excellent staff on reception and friendly cleaning staff elsewhere. We booked a twin-room which was a decent size, very stylish and comfortable, a huge flat- screen tv plus a mini-refrigerator which was very useful in addition to the usual tea/coffee facilities. I enjoyed using the small pool, with plenty of towels to use in the changing room. An added bonus we enjoyed was the early check-in at 11.30am instead of 2.30pm, plus the late check- out until 2pm which we were given free of charge - an unwarranted good- will gesture that meant we left with an all-round excellent opinion of the place. Excellent customer service, and I will no doubt return on my next trip to Edinburgh. The bath-tub could benefit from having a grab-rail - it was wonderfully roomy, with a fab powerful tap, however any elderly guests could struggle to get out of the bath since it was so deep!

Second stay at this hotel and just as good as first. Upgraded to superior King when we arrived although standard rooms are good quality. Spa was great and breakfast was excellent. Took elderly relative and chose hotel due to location. Next to train station, shops, theatre and eating places.

Price and great location. Sometimes the spa was full with young children, however it was Easter holidays so I suppose that is expected

Fantastic overnight stay. Hotel is modern, comfortable, extremely clean, spotless in fact. The staff were welcoming and efficient from the moment we entered to check-in. We were upgraded to a superior double room on 7th floor. Room was superb. pleasant decor, warm and spotless. Beds are soo comfortable. We used the spa and pool which again are modern and clean. The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring the city centre. Extremely happy with The Apex Waterloo and will return again without hesitation. There is not anything we didn't like. This is a first for us I can normally find something to not like. But this exceeded my expectaions in all areas.

Easy to get to. Perfect location for our activities in Edinburgh. We pre-paid for breakfast. that was great - until our last morning. We had to depart for the airport at 6:45am - and breakfast service did not open until 7:00am - they should have refunded the last day of breakfast charges, or they should have had juice, coffee & rolls available in the lobby. They were cheap!

We were on the 10th floor, and had a fantastic view over the rooftops to the water of Leith. Our room was spacious, with a wonderful panarama window, the fridge was great for chilling our drinks, and complimentary snacks and coffee much appreciated. The bathroom had a lovely large bath and walk in shower. The pool was small, but sufficient, would be crowded if more than 6 people trying to swim in it!! Sauna and steam room lovely.

It was very conveniently situated in the City centre and for visiting all the major tourist sights in Edinburgh. As with most central hotels in Edinburgh, the lack of parking is a problem. Even with the 15% discount from the hotel the parking still cost £40.00 for our stay. Also, I was rather surprised at some of the guests staying at the hotel. We seemed to be surrounded by a party of some rather drunk guests.

The design, the ambience and the amazingly helpful staff. Hotel car parking would have been an asset. Usually we stay in the Apex City or International because of parking. For this trip we came by train.
