Pool & family rooms
Pleasant stay. Excellent location. Good size room. Great views. Good breakfast.
The room was a little tired, the walls were very marked and was in need of decorating. The bathroom grouting and sealant was in need of doing as it was quite dirty. The shower wasn't powerful.
Good location near the Royal Mile.
Shower leaked terribly and the mattresses were so poor you woke up w a screaming back.
excellent location and nice service, it near the castle and royal mile,
Our room was on the first floor and a bad view which made us uncomfortable.
TV kept turning itself off
Location Great view of castle Friendly Staff
Very noisy at night
Lovely views. Rooms very big. Lovely breakfast
Bit noisy at night as faces busy street
Good view of castle.
the hotel facilities seemed old even though they tried to have a modern feel to it.
Bed was too soft
Location for Edinburgh attractions was good if you were a tourist but I was there on business. Breakfast was excellent and great views to the castle.
Noise at night when trying to sleep. This is party land so expect to get woken 1-3am when they come out of the clubs even midweek! The fact the windows in the room were not a good fit did not help. Dinner menu in restaurant was very average. Very expensive for what it was.
I liked the polite informative staff. The size of the room and comfortable beds. The excellent breakfast choice and quality of food.
Having to wait 20 min to get in for breakfast.
Hotel was nice location was good except for noise outside during night staff were accomodating and helpfulld
Traffic couldn't get peacefully nights sleep especially on Saturday night
the location of the hotel is excellent, the rooms were comfortable and the staff were helpful.
the rooms were noisy
The location is excellent, within walking distance to Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile. We had a great view from our room right to Edinburgh Castle but too bad the room didn't have a balcony. Great hotel staff, really nice and helpful. Nice bar at the hotel and a few good bars right across the street. Wifi works famously all around.
The breakfast was only OK but too pricey. The room was clean but a bit out of date. A bit noisy at night.
Good location and attentive staff.
My Parents didn't want to pay for the full breakfast which was £13.95 as they eat very little in the morning. They went out to a cafe instead. Not sure if they asked the hotel if they could have a smaller breakfast.
location ,room facilties friendly reception
outside noise during the night.dining room supervisor unhelpful
spacious room, two comfy beds. clean linen, friendly, efficient staff
no drawers in room
Central location, friendly staff, great views from restaurant.
Good location. Nice bar and bar staff.
If you are dragging heavy suitcases then you need to use the ramp at the side of the hotel and that's not obvious and the staff don't tell you until you are at reception. There are further stairs from reception to the elevators. This hotel looks as though it's been "ridden hard and put away wet". In other words everything is beaten up and looks as though there's been no maintenance or cleaning for a long time. The bathroom was OK in the first room we had but it was so hot and smelly that we had to ask to be moved. They did this in a courteous manner and upgraded us to a larger room with a view of the castle. No complaints about this one as it was North facing. The lack of A/C is a bummer. Lord knows how anyone survives in the summer!!!
Second night was quiet as we moved room. Breakfast was excellent.
Very noisy on first night and had to move room at midnight.
Great location with castle views from the room and just steps from royal mile
WiFi did not work and staff was quite rude about it over the phone.
The hotel was in a good location, 10 minute walk to the Main Street and lots of restaurants & pubs across the road. Staff were very helpful and pleasant
We did book a castle view room and unfortunately we didn't get that. Didn't get a great view at all. Also, windows don't open very well and the room gets very hot.
friendly helpful reception staff lovely big room purple duck! excellent location
price of breakfast dustbins being emptied very early outside room not quietly
