the staff were very welcoming and kind and the location was excellent
The room was smaller than I would have expected for the money and could do with some running repairs e.g. handles on the wardrobe and leaking shower from room above.
proximity to stations and restaurants
room was small would not have suited us for more than overnight but for this requirement it was satisfactory
I was able to walk to most destinations that I wanted to go to. It was clean and tidy, with helpful staff and brilliant breakfast. Most of all it was really quiet.
The room was quite small, but I was on my own so it didn't bother me.
The hotel was in a great position as I arrived late from Paris on Eurostar. The room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was fantastic and the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful.
There is no lift, but I was aware of that.
Room very small but expected that before check in.
The beds were comfortable. Close to the train station
Having stayed in 3 other hotels in London this room was definitely the smallest & most expensive. We had to carry our bags up a very steep narrow staircase, once our bags were in the room there was absolutely no space. The bathroom was barely big enough for the toilet & shower. Wifi did not work in our room on the top floor. If you are not a fit, skinny person do not stay here.
Staff very helpful.
Room a little small.
Comfortable room and beds. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Perfectly located for transport. Enjoyed our short stay very much.
Bathroom was tiny, but adequate.
Good location, English breakfest
Wifi is not function on the top of hotel :-(
We wanted to stay as close as possible to St Pancras as possible at a reasonable price for 2 nights. The Apollo ticked the boxes. The owners were nice, the place clean and the bed comfortable.
Very tight shower. Wi-Fi connection very poor.
It might be impossible to be improved...Room was terribly narrow even for me who was very short and slim! There did I spend a very unhappy last night in UK.
Apollo was a good location for us. Closed to both train stations that we used. Staff friendly and helpful. Also they opened early for us to have a great breakfast before continuing with our travels
Proximity to the station. Room was very clean. Proprietor was very helpful. Cooked breakfast himself - and it was delicious.
Stairs up to top floor (no lift!) were quite difficult (for pensioners such as us!) Bed was not very comfortable - very soft and creaking mattress (we are used to a firm mattress)
This is a really good base for a London break. Just a very short walk from Kings Cross and the Underground. Staff and owners really friendly and helpful. Excellent choice at breakfast, full English Breakfast or Continental, all really fresh and presented well. The Hotel is what it is. Its clean and comfortable for a budget hotel and offers good value for the money
Hotel needs a little decorative updating in some places .
Excellent location in quiet street. Friendly hosts and super breakfast
Very small room. Hot and stuffy at night . A fan would be a simple inexpensive remedy
1. The convenient location very close to KX and St Pancras. Also very quiet during the night. 2. The friendly and helpful staff; also patient :) I had booked the Elmwood hotel in the same street first but later changed my mind due to the manager's rudeness when I contacted him via email. I was lucky to have come across the Apollo! 3. Cleanliness. 4. A good choice of food for breakfast 5. The quad room on the first floor; also spacious enough for the two adults and three restless children; it seems like it has recently been refurbished. 6. Wi-Fi. 7. There was a problem with hot water which we would not even notice hadn't the staff told us about it. Solved in no time, too! 8. Could pay by credit card, no extra charges! 9. Room facilites: great shower, though my husband did feel somewhat claustrophobic in it), large enough beds, enough linen, coffee maker ... We will definitely visit the hotel again once our piggy banks get heavier!
1. The price - London hotels (and most of other things) are seriously overpriced. But given that some other hotels offer less for the same price, good value for money. 2. The breakfast room is a bit cramped. 3. I was really apprehensive about whether or not the room would be waiting for us as some reviewers had had this problem. Therefore, I'd double-checked before arrival and all turned out just fine. There's an unrelated hotel in London with the same name, which may have been the problem - it's worth checking the address(es)! 4. This was not really a problem for us as we're used to London hotels and also our room was on 1st floor (very thankful!), but yes, the stairs are narrow and steep.
Loved being so close to station. Extremely handy. Also had pub across road for afternoon drinks, launderette 3 minute walk away. Breakfast excellent and staff very friendly and helpful.
Room was quite small. But we did know that when we booked the hotel.
The location, the cleanliness and the price
The only thing I did not like was the fact that they did not give us clean towels on our second day (we stayed for two nights).
The location was excellent with King's Cross and St. Pancras stations and lots of shops, pubs and restaurants around, and though very central the area was quiet. Breakfast was very good, people were friendly and helpful.
There was nothing savoury for the continental breakfast, such as cheese or cold meats. The room was rather small, but then most B&B rooms in London are like this and expensive for what it was, but again that's always the case with accommodation in London.
Very friendly staff and great cooked breakfast
room was clean and good value for money
Location , cleanliness,excellent breakfast.
Small rooms,shower flooding,no lift.
Good location near St Pancras Rail Stations with easy connection from Gatwick Airport. Excellent English breakfast. Friendly staff.
