Short walk to Queensway tube.
Everything. This hotel (and they have a nerve calling themselves this) was filthy; you couldn't even touch the woodwork without sticking to it. There was no hot water at all, we could have had a more effective shower under a garden tap. Breakfast comprised a choice of cornflakes, orange juice, tea and a bread roll (really nothing else at all on offer). This place looked as though it hadn't been freshened up (or cleaned) in decades. The staff were rude. They demanded cash when I tried to pay by card, stating they didn't know how to use the card machine and when I refused to go out to find a cash point at 11pm at night, they miraculously knew how to work it after all. There is nothing I could recommend about this hotel and would strongly advise anyone to avoid it at all costs. I am not a serial complainer but have quite honestly not stayed in anything as bad as this in my life, and I have stayed in many, many hotels around the world. Third world countries do better than this.
The heater didn't work The beds were broken in some areas All the beds made noise Staff poor in attention
Everything, holes in mattress, TV didn't work, hairdryer(one in hotel) smelled of burning.. Some wall sockets didn't work, no soap in bathroom, one pillow per person, despite asking for more, overall just VERY rundown hotel, needs painting and beds and furniture very old and falling apart... Only way to fix this hotel would be to knock it down and rebuild it!!!!
Tv in room not working complained for several days.No use. Wife suffers fromAshma no fan and only one flat Pillow had to wait 3 days complaining to get another one. Breakfast very poor.
great location, close to bus and underground
in the morning without hot water, for breakfast only croissants without bread, uncomfortable beds,..... for one or two nights OK
Location Transport links Basic requirements met.
Breakfast not worth the price. Rooms need renovating slightly. Bed mattress was rather uncomfortable. The staff weren't very friendly, particularly one member of staff who did the night reception duty, he was rude and impatient. Unable to pay by card , this really should be rectified. For the price, we expected more in terms of a better breakfast range, better room standard, especially mattress.
Leaving the place!
Demanded cash payment upon arrival. Told to get cash from machine around corner - when I got there that was not working. Asked if I could pay by cc in morning - No! and if I didn't get cash (another trek) I could leave right away. Curtain in room (singular) barely covered window, bed cover had an interesting set of stains.
Location and price for a one night stop over was perfect. Bedding clean.
Bathroom needs total face lift. So glad we didnt stay longer than one night as noone wanted to shower in it. Matresses propped up in hallways so but of a health risk. Breakfast very basic but to be honest for price didnt expect much more. Its a fabulous old building and really could be so much better with tlc
We must pay all the amount of money when we arrive at the Hotel before going to our room and they just give us the recipt in the last day. The credit card's machine doesn't work and we must pay in money. It is real unconfortable and doesn't sound safe.
Location Price Large room for 6 was great for kids beds comfortable
Not that clean Breakfast was coffee and cold croissants and cereal
location and that's all!
Staff wanted cash and argued when we said we couldn't get it because we were using a credit card from the USA where they do not have chip and pin. Running a hotel in London and dealing with guests from around the world they should know these things but all we got from them was 'well this is the UK and you need to update your credit card.' They were unbelievably rude and accused us of lying about not being able to get cash but looking through past reviews shows they have been scamming people into paying with cash for over a year. When we said we were leaving they were magically able to take a card payment. Bed covers were filthy and there was ply wood under the mattress. Could not use the bathroom light and kettle at the same time without tripping the electric and we had to move the bed to plug the kettle in. No remote for the tv because it had 'gone missing.' No plug for the bathroom sink and no soap, shampoo, etc. Breakfast was a complete joke! Overall the worst hotel we have ever stayed at and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone!
The location was perfect near to Central London, Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, Oxford Street, Queensway and Bayswater Underground Stations and lots of restaurants, staff were nice, the room was clean, they changed the bed sheets when requested and gave additional pillows and bed sheets, the toilet was clean and they supply toilet rolls and clean the toilet every day.
Beds were rather uncomfortable, the breakfast was fair but boring as it is repeated every day, there is no eggs, no cheese. The Hotel needs refurbishment, new beds, better cupboards and improvements with regards to breakfast by adding other items like boiled eggs, cheese, etc.
It was cheap great location for transport
Beds were uncomfortable, bunk beds were squeaky everytime you moved, room small but get what you pay for
The room was poorly maintaned, i.e only one working power outlet, several lamps not working, shower impossible to adjust.
Only got 2 towels between 6 people, room was very dirty, no loo rolls, reception staff very unfriendly. Never said you can only pay cash for your stay and if you pay by card it is £10 more expensive??? Nothing like the pics on the website!!! Very disappointing and not worth the money we have paid!
no hot water for first 2 nights. no tv for first night. no milk for tea/coffee. night staff hardly spoke engish.
Sheets were clean.
Bed spreads looked ghastly. Could feel springs in mattresses. No soap or other items in the bathroom, no hot water, broken towel rack. Credit card machine not working, so had to find a bank machine for cash.
unfriendly staff, worst mattress I have ever slept on, dirty, poor breakfast, noisy place, expensive for what you get.
The hotel was clean and had an elevator to get to our family room on the 5 the floor. The Hotel is very close to Hyde Park, Notting Hill, stores, restaurants and the subway.
This hotel did not supply most things you would expect in a hotel. They take cash only, and gave us some excuse about the credit card machine not working. The beds were very, very uncomfortable, the pillows were like sacks of flour. The room was poorly ventilated. There was no hot water the last day of our stay, there was no drain plugs for sink or tub and no soap provided. The reading lamps over two of the three beds did not work. There was one working outlet in the room, used by the tv and located behind the bed. The coffee maker is just for show since there is no available electrical socket near it. The furniture was dilapetated, the dresser fell a part when we tried to move it to get access to the electrical socket and....the breakfast consisted of corn flakes, rolls, croissants, toast, tea and coffee. For all this we paid 110 pounds per night.
Liked the location everything we needed was close by and Hyde park right there for evening strolls and the kids were able to run around and burn of any extra energy.
Beds were rather uncomfortable.
Location location location. If you're looking for a bed, nothing fancy, a shower, and a simple breakfast; this is your hotel.
I didn't get a receipt after paying, which was weird. I was promissed to get on when I checked out, but never got it. We had to leave our bags at the reception for a whole afternoon because our train took of late in the evening. When we got back at the hotel, our bags wher just standing in the hallway!! We got lucky, no one took something out of it. We stayed 3 days and one of them we had no hot water. Price quality is almost ok: but because of the season and location, the staff doesn't really care about you because they'll get full anyway. Always people in London who are looking for a hotel.
Nice location. The staff was accommodating and did their best to meet with up with our requests.
Very inconvenient beds and poor facilities (poor shower, lack of towels, no soap). It was really hot and no conditioning what so ever. Wasn't able to pay my stay at the hotel reception with my credit card, they only accepted cash.
There was no toilet paper in the room, not enough cups for three people and not enough towels. There were some issues with receipt too.
Perfect location - very close to tube and buses. Our needs were accommodated.
both had headaches next day from the pillows. Breakfast was ok but nothing to rave over.
Appalling hotel, booked in and left immediately. Unclean, unsafe, unpleasant. Horrible experience!
