Set in Eden Valley, the 19th century Appleby Manor Country House Hotel features an AA rosette winning restaurant which serves fresh, local produce. Views across the hotel’s beautiful landscaped garden can be enjoyed with a drink on the terrace. Each room has a seating area, some of which surround traditional bay windows overlooking the gardens and Appleby Castle. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. A very warm welcome from reception. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Excellent food. Great nights sleep.

The staff were friendly and hardworking. The restaurant was really good and there was a great view. Nice breakfast!

Lovely location and very comfortable rooms, lovely bathroom too. Public areas were all well furnished and very relaxing. Good breakfast. We dined on our first evening and felt that the pre printed menus were off putting, giving the impression that not all the items would be freshly cooked. I chose sirloin steak which was excellent but my husband chose a trio of lamb which was almost cold. We were asked on two occasions if all was ok and on both we said that the lamb was cold. However, nothing was done about it.

Staff very welcoming and unobtrusive but attentive. If you want a quiet time then its perfect for that and good scenery and nice manor house. Food very good and good choice. If suns not out very limited to what you may do. Late at night anyone coming up to rooms can be heard and can keep you awake.Bit too quiet in dining room and seating areas, feel like you have to whisper.

Food was excellent. Staff very friendly although forgot to bring requested menu, drinks etc several times in only a 2 night stay. Showers were rubbish in spa.
