Nice Welcome, made to feel very much at home, nice to see a corkscrew and wine glasses in room, very warm and welcoming accommodation. Modern, clean and very nice decor. Upgrade of mattresses would be nice... maps of recommended places to eat could be made easier to follow and understand.. perhaps LINKS to restaurants would be beneficial. 2 bath robes rather than 1 when staying as couple would be nice.... and replace "ticking" clock with latest technology... digital.

This is a great place to stay. Excellent rooms with lots of goodies, comfortable and very clean. The breakfast are superb with freshly cooked food and home made jams. It's only a walk from Harrogate centre I would recommend it to anyone but sadly the owners are moving on in the new year.so I'll be hunting for somewhere as good! Nothing to dislike!

Personal touch. The room was lovely, but the low beam caused a few headaches!

Applewood house is owned by Lesley and Barry who are extremely good hosts. Barry's breakfasts were delicious and Lesley kept the rooms comfotable and spotless with a well stocked hospitality tray and fresh milk for your cuppa every day. Would certainly go back and recommend to anyone going to Harrogate for either business or pleasure. The conference centre is a short walk and the 36 bus passes the end of the road.Superb.

The owners were attentive and professional. The room was immaculate and the breakfast healthy and fresh. I will definitely stay again. The walk into town was a pleasant 20 minutes, and only a £7 cab fare back later on.

The friendly owners who exceeded expectations in all aspects of our stay. The quality, cleanliness and comfort of our room.Breakfasts were a pleasure - excellent food and the opportunity to meet and chat to other guests The charming house with its tasteful decoration and homely touches. Nothing to fault. Excellent all round. The fact that the owners are retiring at Christmas. What a pity as others won't have the same pleasurable experience that we have had.

High quality welcome, accommodation and breakfast. There were lots of little extras normally only found in top of the range hotels but the proprietors' helpfulness made this a far better place to stay.

The rooms were of a high standard with attentions to the little details that were more than just basic comfortable provision. The owners had included many thoughtful extras. The breakfast was excellent with a wide range of choices. The food was of a high standard and all home made.

Very well presented Hotel with friendly hosts. Very comfortable rooms and a great breakfast. I have stayed in lots of small hotels and this is one of the best 15 minutes walk from the centre of the delightful town centre.

Our stay at Applwwood House was excellent, and we could not fault it in any way. We would reccommend any one to stay there. The situation ia very quiet, the decor is superior,The owners are the friendliest we have ever come across in Harrogate, and we have been attending conferences twice a year since 1994.Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were mouthwatering with a good choice of home cooked food. Homemade, conserves for your toast, and nothing wasa presented in a pre packed package.Everthing was spotless. So all in all the best stay ever. We will be going again.

A warm welcome. Delightful location with a pleasant walk into Harrogate. The guest house was beautifully appointed with very tasteful decore and attention to every detail. Breakfast was the most outstanding experience. They have won gold awards for this . Homemade preserves, local produce, fruit ,musli and nut all carefully prepared. We didn't eat til evening!!! It was a bit surprising not to have a TV in the room, but after a while we actually had a conversation.and didn't miss TV for the next few days. Lots of treat were supplied like sparking and still bottled water. ,sweets , and other goodies. A very happy experience with nice hosts.

Mr & Mrs Knight were very friendly and welcoming. The house is immaculate and breakfast is to die for. (I wasn't going to have a cooked breakfast but couldn't resist). This is how B&B's should be. Most highly recommended.

It felt like a home from home and the breakfast was very like the kind I found in South Africa: full of fresh ingredients, beautifully presented and made to feel like a special time of the day.

It was beautiful, located in a quiet street. The rooms were tastefully decorated, pristine, with little added extras such as fresh milk provided in a flask, bubblebath, bath robe, wardrobe smellies and bottles of water. The breakfast was outstanding, cooked to order, with home made jams, marmalade and Lemon curd (my favourite). All delicious. Would definitely stay here again.
