I was asked if I was gluten free or vegetarian on arrival. I said I was gluten free. The next morning a member of staff knew it was me out of all the other people at breakfast and offered me their gluten free alternatives. I was very impressed.
The satnav did not lead us to the property. The address did not match the post code on our satnav and we spent about three quarters of an hour just driving round and round and asking people did they know this address.
Good value and good location
Very helpful and friendly owner and staff. Breakfast excellent. Good choice and quality of food.
Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, clean and well-maintained room. Good location with off-street parking. Good value.
Very good location. We came to visit some nature reserves in the area. Arcadia House is located very near to both, it is near the coast and a walk distance from pubs and restaurants. Comfortable bed, welcoming staff, nice breakfast, parking space at the rear and fast WIFI. I will be staying here again!
Nice breakfast great stay.
No one in when we arrived.
Bed comfort Cleanliness Breakfast
Got blocked in parking whilst trying to leave quickly in the morning.
Most responded to in questionnaire + approachable staff, excellent breakfast choices and on site car parking. Will definitely use again!
Lovely guest house with lovely hosts, very polite and accommodating.
Bed a bit hard!
This was the third place we stayed in during the week (two previous big chain hotels) Arcadia was by far the most welcoming, best breakfast, no hidden extras, best value for money
No complaints what so ever!
Found room 4 to be quiet and very clean. Delicious breakfast and friendly staff. Very good location.
The best Bed and breakfast by a long mile I have ever stayed in clean tidy efficient spotless standards. Outstanding....
Nothing all perfect
Gaynor made us very welcome and because we were celebrating our silver wedding anniversary, we had a lovely surprise waiting for us in our room. Super clean, car parking, which is a huge bonus in Weymouth. Lovely breakfast choice and helpful, friendly staff.
Road a little noisy at front but not a big issue
The breakfast was tasteless and the breakfast window was small with the time being only 8am till 9am meaning you had to be up early to receive it
Really nice owner, very helpful. Room were clean and comfortable.
Location very good, although fairly far down the Esplanade, a regular bus service which stopped opposite the Arcadia stopped at convenient places along the sea front. The Arcadia was astoundingly clean, especially the breakfast room and my single room. The staff were hard working, very polite, nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast menu was above first class for the price. Room facilities excellent, all one needed to be happy for the night!! No disturbances at night, everything lovely and quiet.
Small fry stuff really Bed too low for me but I am six foot and on crutches, unable to get out of it with ease Bannister needed on stairs going to basement area rooms, though only a few stairs to negotiate Maybe brown sugar could also be offered at breakfast as it is offered in the rooms Perhaps the milk accompanying coffee at breakfast could also be offered in a hot jug,
i was welcolmed to the arcadia guest house by gaynor the owner of the guest house and because i have arthritis she changed my room so i was on the ground floor . the staff were excellent as was the food . The room was excellent and everything i needed i cannnot fault this guest house at all
As soon as you step up to the front door you can see someone takes some trouble with the hotel and cares about their customers' experience and comfort. The entry point and hallway have a nice open feel that instantly make you feel at home. The breakfast was lovely.....we all love our bacon and eggs when on holiday.....and if we wanted something a little different it was no trouble. The breakfast room is bright and cheerful and a lovely atmosphere at the start of the day when you really need it. Our room was perfectly adequate: simple decorated, nice bedding and a great little shower room and toilet. In old houses it can be difficult to accommodate the facilities we all expect nowadays but its achieved here quite well.
We are quite sensitive sleepers so our experience may not be typical. We were at the top of the house and felt quite warm at night. A cooling fan is provided and using it on the second night improved our sleep.
car park not big enough . why not knock down walls that separate all car parks behind the buildings and have one big parking area.
The guest house was very clean and had a good choice of breakfast's including "Full English". (The only down side is that I prefer tinned tomatoes with my full English breakfast - only fresh tomatoes was available).
1. Your car is blocked in the car park, therefore you may find it difficult to travel during the day. 2. The car park is at the back of the guest house and you have to take your belonging to the front. No back route through the building.
Very clean and comfortable, friendly people, good food. Would stay there again. Excellent
It was perfect for me, & at such short notice
Location - handy for railway station, but far enough from noise. Flexible choices at breakfast Generous drinks facility in room.
A lot of doors & windows rattled up top floor in windy weather. Private separate bathroom was actually shared with one other but this was little problem. Shower took a bit of trial & error, though. Sit-where-you-like at breakfast could result in late groups having to split up. (not an issue for myself)
