The bed was very comfortable. The grounds were beautiful and the staff tried there best to please.
They were a little understaffed and the venue could do with a slight update as it is looking a little tired since in was last there in 2009.
The staff were lovely and the boat house location was beautiful. We had a great time fishing on the loch.
The room was very old and tired looking. Laminate flooring and thread bear carpet. Internet didn't work and neither did the shower. For £330 a night we would have liked room service (which wasn't an extra £7 per person for delivery) or at least some drinks in the minibar. This has all the ingredients of being an excellent hotel but it lacks any attention to detail or real love. It felt like they didn't care about our repeat business. We were really excited about this hotel but were disappointed.
Location beautiful once you get there.
Quality of staff , some are very good others not so. Eastern European staff very good and friendly no complaints there but some breakfast staff were extremely poor and not attentive enough , little things like no salt and pepper on table , service slow, having to ask more than once for things. Not very good at all. This hotel is highly over rated in my opinion, comparing it to the inver lodge hotel in loch inver where we stayed next it does not even come close to value for money.
A beautiful Hotel in the middle of nowhere. Good food and nice people. Great view on the lake and a nice walk through the Gardens.
Pretty old. I think it was rated only *** in the last two years. We rented the cottage, which was ok. Restaurant is quite overrated. Quality of service personell just par.
Beautiful location, fabulous food. Very helpful and friendly staff. Would return and stay in main house.
Stayed in the boathouse, very hot at night and difficult to ventilate. Loved the seclusion, but some issues with heating/ cooling and similar problems with hot water in shower.
Old Scottish baronial mansion on the shore of a loch tastefully converted into a splendid hotel with character. Very remote but worth the journey. Excellent food. Beautiful gardens.
Price was exceptionally high for a room with dirty carpets, unusually small dinner portions, very poor breakfast buffet which was not included in the price, seats were sat through, service only average. Stunning location, but not really worth the effort of getting there.
We stayed in the cottage and it was lovely. We thought the food was great and we felt we had more than enough to eat and staff were very attentive and nice. The views are great and its very relaxing.
You shouldnt go if you want spa and activities as there is not a lot on that front but thats not a negative if you know in advance.
Booked large room but got . med. No table or useable seats. Mixers dispensed from large plastic bottles.Dinner left me hungry, and a £6.50 surcharge for cheese was over the top.
