Score from 519 reviews Very good
The hotel is ideally located close to Birmingham Airport and the train station. The facilities are all very good and I could not fault the cleanliness. All round it was good value for money and I would definitely stay there again.
The bathrooms are in need of updating.
friendliness of staff
Service good,Clean and well organised.
A few dirty plates and bowls in the breakfast area near the cereals.Staff should look at the top ones more often.Otherwise very good.
Nice on site bar
the lift sounded like it was going to brake down!
Moved family beds to find dust and rubbish
liked the comfort of the room and cleanliness ,breakfast was tasty.
no air conditioning in room ,very hot ,poor 2 nights sleep ,bed was requested for child which wasn't supplied until 2nd night and was broken when it came. this was not noticed until the middle of the night when it collapsed. no shuttle bus to nec show which was primarily my reason for visiting the area--disappointed.
easy to get to and parking no problem walking distance of NEC pool and sauna
ran out of towels in the sauna Had to ask daily for replenishment of tea and milk
location, relaxed atmosphier, burgunday resturant is excellent all in all a fantastic hotel
The spa facilities
We arrive and checked in. We went to our room to find that someone had just walke out of it, the bed was sorry an not made and the room hadn't been cleaned from previous occupants. We were given an upgrade, the room was basic and the shower had no power. The spare pillows were not clean. I wouldn't return to this hotel!
swimming pool and leisure rooms excellent. breakfast very good. location good for LG arena.
booking in reception staff member had strange attitude treating us like 3rd class travellers and very sharp making our attitude towards hotel as not so good. other staff were pleasant.
Friendly atmosphere, helpful staff clean, warm and comfortable open areas and rooms. Good breakfast and choice of evening meals.
Light and airy main areas.
The disabled room we were offered was very good BUT did not offer a shower or wet room and I can not get into a bath to shower.
The welcome we received on entering the Arden was excellent, our room was really comfortable and clean, we then went down to the leisure facilities had a lovely swim and sauna this was then followed by a delicious meal in the restaurant. Everything about our stay at the Arden was very good, will definitely be returning next year.
Leisure centre and restaurant good. Excellent staff in dining room
Bright light outside my room window not turned off until 00.30 thus disturbing sleep - no air conditioning so window and curtain had to be left open.On first floor on a flat roof with workmen on roof at 8.20am - no net curtains so had to close curtains and have light on. Requested iron and ironing board at 6pm had to ring again at 7am next morning as no one had brought it to the room. Cleanliness and decor of room was very disappointing as I stayed at this hotel last year in a different room which was spotless. Cigarette burns on windowsill. No bath although this was available when I booked online. Housekeeping wanted to clean my room at 8.30am on check out day even though checkout is 11am. No door card available with 'Do Not Disturb'
Close proximity to NEC able to walk with good car parking. Nice meal in restaurant, very good value all round.
Wi Fi could be a lot faster but not really a problem, just personal opinion.
Welcoming staff. Excellent food. Peter and his staff. Swimming pool. Clean and comfy bedrooms. Even the cleaning staff are pleasant and greet you with a 'good morning' Loved the piano in the dining room.
Disgusting breakfast coffee! Carton UHT milk in the rooms but that is just a grumble - some hotels have little mini bars in the corridors with jugs of fresh milk for when needed.
Staff delightful. Good value table d'hote in Restaurant. Public areas well staffed and comfy. Super value
But tired around edges. Lack of signs in hotel made it too easy to get lost and random lifts not working
Facilities and service were good
Room hot and no controllable AC, but with the window open the traffic noise was a problem
Restaurant very good service excellent food
The room could definitely done with air conditioning and the Wi-Fi was non-existent in the room
Proximity to airport good pool good restaurant shower gel and shampoo provided
Noisy and hot as no air con in room so had to leave window open and heard dustbins being emptied early am. No clear signs from train station to hotel until we were nearly at hotel so we mistakenly went to airport first.
Location to Airport
Staff were poor in their communication and in the morning quite rude. Also room was not clean - it seemed as if someone had been in there. Had to pay for breakfast even if it was not available!!!
Great stay at this hotel the night before travelling off on holiday, we ate and drank in the bar which was great value for money and very tasty.
I stay here once or twice a year usually attending a conference and it is an excellent venue. Good location and I always feel the food is better than I would expect.
Good to have Free wifi but signal strength was not good in room 234 and I needed to stand by window.
Leisure centre which was free
Menu could have been a bit more varied
