Very helpful staff, reasonable prices, comfy bed.
No "real" bread for breakfast. But I wasn't expecting it. Could use an update of the decor, but then prices would probably go up so no real need.
Very friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms
Limited choice of food in the restaurant in the evening
One of the best hotels I stayed in. Nicely designed interior, convenient location, good breakfast, clean rooms, friendly staff and lots of interesting info about Scotland in rooms and corridoors.
It was a bit difficult to get to bath taps because of inconveniently istalled glass shield.
On arriving at my room at the argyll hotel I was pleasantly surprised at how spacious the room was. I had booked a double room but had been given a triple room which was fantastic. Being down for a children's appointment with my son it was close to York hill. Check in time is great that it can be flexible and that there is always someone at reception throughout the night should it be a late arrival or if you have any issues. Beds were comfortable. The bathroom had everything you would expect and more. Rooms were clean and decorated nicely making it a enjoyable stay
The only thing that I didn't like was having to go down a set of stairs then back up another to get to my room with a pram and young child on my own which if I hadn't help from a friend or other person staying in hotel I would not have been able to do this so easily. Though it was my own fault for not specifying in booking and not the hotels.
Old world charm.
Beds a bit old and creaky. Makes relations difficult for the guests next door....
Good value for money Friendly and helpful staff Located near restaurants Free luggage storage after check-out Free wifi
Proximity to everything we wanted to see
The noisy floor boards above.
Inexpensive accommodation. Nicely furnished and clean.
The bathroom although clean smelt.
Great location to secc. Lovely little hotel, stayed in room 201 which was lovely after being upgraded from guesthouse due to guesthouse being full...very pleasant surprise x
Nothing really...all was great with our stay...only issue was the wire on kettle was showing but i reported this on departure x
Flexible arrival - was no trouble arriving later than planned.
Older sanitary ware in bathroom.
Familiarity. I am familiar with the hotel.
Overall decent hotel, no major complaints. Location is about 100m from the bus stop for the City Sightseeing Tour Bus. Great bathroom, especially the shower.
Had to pay for breakfast, although given the (comparatively) low price of the room I guess this is reasonable.
Location Service Breakfast
Rooms very dated, cold tap temperamental, tv signal was lost on numerous occasions, banging could be heard for at least an hour from another room (sounded like workman), check in stated 2pm and when arrived we were then told 3pm, parking was said to be free but cost £4, room was like a rectangle and hardly big enough to move around (room 206), nothing like the pictures advertising.
Very large room, comfortable beds , very clean .great breakfast , lots of choice
Stairs carpets a bit worn
staff friendly and helpful
room at the top of the building with a dirty carpet
Location is a highlight. Many pubs and restaurants near by.
Breakfast was not included, it was expensive with not too many options.
Nice big comfy room. Clean. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.
The pub next door played its music all through the night till 9 am the next day so sleep was very interrupted.
cold, breakfast could have had better choices as i dont eat english breakfast
the fact that breakfast was separate and we had to pay £8.95 each for it.
Comfortable and clean hotel with all we needed. Room was on the small side but didn't matter to us. Lovely Scottish decor in a perfect location for many attractions. Nearby to plenty of great cafés, walking distance to shops and on the open top bus route :)
good location, friendly staff
poor wifi reception in our room.
