Terrific location--very, very nice staff. Good job! There was a distinct smell to the room--I had to keep the bathroom door closed. The rug was also worn. It wasn't a terrible room--it was functional, but I was surprised at the rather threadbare condition given how recommended the hotel was. A very poor breakfast--I'm sorry! You need to have large water glasses, we kept pestering the poor server for many(small) glasses.

I really enjoyed the breakfast, there is a great selection and the staff were lovely. There was no hot water so I couldn't have a bath or shower after travelling all day, and my room was super small. I had a big suit case and it was very hard getting to my room with all of the doors and narrow hallways

I liked the overall appearance of the hotel and the welcoming staff although I wa disapointed that the resturant was closed over the New year period. Most people like to feel that they can aquire an evening meal within the hotel even at a New Year holiday.

With the room being at the back of hotel, it was quiet so easier to sleep longer. The room was clean and well decorated. In the well-used communal areas there were noticeable worn tacky patches where the decor obviously needed freshen up: the worn patches on the stairs and discoloured couches at the reception. The breakfast had a good selection and you could help yourself to as much as you want but they could have included more fruit for people who preferred the healthier option. I felt the car park facilities at the back needed to be more organised and the night portering service needs to more responsive to calls. When returning to the hotel the Porter failed to respond to my phone call to open the back door entrance of the hotel which gives access to and from the car park. Consequently I was standing aimlessly waiting at the back door in the rain and dark, Eventually I had to walk round to the front via the muddy back lane. Not a pleasant end to the day!!

As I was going to see a band at the ssec ,I was able to walk a short distance there and back, plenty of eating places on the way. As I said before location and the staff were there to help without being in you're face, also the breakfast was rather nice and plentiful and included in the price of the room

The price is quite worthy, not too expensive comparing with the quality of the room. I am quite satisfy it. There are two parts of the hotel, the main one and the guesthouse one. For me, I booked for a signal room for a "hotel" but the reception put me in the section of the guesthouse. The guesthouse area doesn't have life ( guess it's the cheaper part, so no reception and no any service from them ). However, I think it's not convenient to carry all my two big luggages to my room, downstairs, without any help from the stuffs.

It was near enough the city - a short bus ride for concerts etc. The staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was good. The room was clean. It was quiet at night. Food was available on the premises if we wished it. The grouting round the bath was badly discoloured , and the shower had weak flow. Tea/coffee was served before we had started breakfast - we had to ask specially to avoid this.
