Score from 81 reviews Fabulous
Staff very friendly and helpful. Food excellent. Traditional and comfortable hotel.
Nothing to report.
The service and staff, very good, the food also good. stunning views if you pay the extra for a Loch view.
once you get out of reception you can see the place needs a good overhaul, I paid for an upgraded room but the only upgrade was the view!! shower was poor with cold water!! internet did not work properly, old TV in room only had 3 chanels working. untidy decor, ripped walpaper, hard bed etc.
Great location and the hotel is warm and comfortable.
There were a few issues with the room. The window frame was broken in the bathroom and there was chewing gum stuck to the carpet. The general look of the hotel is tired. It will take more than a lick of paint to put it right. Despite all of this, the hotel still has a warm friendly atmosphere.
The staff, traditional Scottish theme. Local knowledge, tales of local ghosts and recommendations.
Only a few tv channels In this day and age you should have more
Very friendly and welcoming to children. The food is far better than some of the local 'award winning' establishments and half the price! Excellent location and ideal for visiting surrounding towns.
Decor is in need if some attention... but certainly wouldn't stop me from returning soon.
Size and standard of room
The location is excellent. Loved the eat as much as you want buffet breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful.
The exterior paintwork is badly in need of a facelift as is the main entrance. Other things like spiral staircases and sloping floors can be overlooked because of the age of the building, although some guests will struggle with the stairs.
Staff all very nice and helpful. Food very fresh and tasty.
Bedrooms a bit dated and worn. Would have prefared more room facility's.
location,value for money
lighting in bedroom was poor, noisy bathroom fan, breakfast especially the continental choice was meagre,no fresh fruit, yoghurt and croissants were cold.
Traditional hotel with wonderfully welcoming staff and offering huge cooked breakfasts
The tartan carpeting may not be to everyone's taste?
The breakfast and location
Paint work bashed, hotel frontage needs re painting, old TV, shower did not work properly, no hot water through mixer tap. Hairs around the bath, not mine I add. Just an old fashioned hotel, but ok for 1 night given the cost.
Room 211 was quiet as it was on the side of the hotel and it had a lovely view of the loch. Room was a good size, and the shower in the bathroom was powerful. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was great. I could not fault it as a 3 star hotel.
Room 211 - Bed looked great as it is a four poster, but unfortunately the mattress was very hard and we did not get a good sleep either of the nights we were there. If this was upgraded the room would score top marks and i would definately stay there and ask for the room again.
Food standard was Excellent and in generous portion
Nothing to dislike
General friendliness. Good value. Clean, No complaints
Bit short on staff when we arrived.
The location was the best you could get.
Hotel was very tired in need of decoration very drab. Chipped paintwork etc. Girl serving breakfast was the only friendly one we came across.
Very nice and friendly staff. Excellent food! The location is really perfect. We spent our Christmas there and we have had an absolute perfect time. Thank you for that!
We would recommend the management to make an investment on new beds. The old mattresses are a complete write off with springs sticking out in all directions making a normal sleep impossible. New beds would make our review a 10 out of 10!
the breakfast was greasy and poorly cooked; I wasn't given a menu although I later discovered there was one.
Excellent friendly staff, decor tired and in need of update, but was a pleasant place to stay. There was obvious problems with subsidence as our room was on a slope and you felt as if you were going to roll out the bed, but it all adds to the character of the place. Loved my stay in inverary and I would stay at this hotel again.
Great place to stay . Great staff . Great food . Local ammenties plenty to do .
I did not meet the duke of Argyll . Could be made disability friendly with some thought .
The location right in the centre of town. The food was very good, with plenty on offer.
Nothing to not like.
We loved the comfy bed and excellent breakfast.
The hotel was a bit dated in decor
location, excellent staff.very good food well presented
bedroom rather worn looking. En suite in desperate need of an upgrade.
Lovely view over Loch Fyne Attractive village-you must also visit The George public house round the corner Good breakfast
I would recommend paying a supplement for a Loch view room - some of the rooms to the rear of the hotel are quite disappointing. Squeaky beds
