Score from 276 reviews Very good
With beautiful Loch Fyne less than a 1-minute walk away, Brambles provides luxurious rooms alongside its bistro and bakery in Inveraray.

The room had a couple of maintance issues and the hotel was in need of a good revamp
the view and breakfast
too many stairs and not easy because of spiral staircase
Excellent meal in the evening. Veiws from the window fantastic.
Staff unable to keep up with demand at breakfast when everyone turned up at the same time. Staff seemed very stressed. Noisey at night. People running around knocking doors at all hours of the morning. Was very surprised at this. Parking was also a bit hit and miss.
Staff were polite, breakfast was good.
No lifts to room on second floor, no offer of help to carry suitcases for a mature couple. Room and bathroom were small. Decor in room and hotel generally was 'tired'.
Hotel was nice and clean food great, lovely bar and the friendly staff.
Didn't dislike anything about hotel.
The location is beautiful, breakfast was lovely and fresh.
The bed was uncomfortable, mattress seen better days, felt like I was sleeping on the base of bed.
Location of the hotel at Inverary is excellent. Our room was clean and tidy and perfect fir our stay. See below for some small irritations which did not hinder our time at the hotel, except fir one.
Bathroom sink plug was broken, water would not run away. No soap, gel or shampoo in the bathroom. Toilet holder hanging off the wall ( minor faults ) Main complaint - I ordered champagne and flowers,to be in our room when we arrived. This was done and appeared to be perfect. We took the bouquet of flowers home on the 10/10/14. On the 11/10/14 we noticed that a great number of flies had gathered in our kitchen, they appeared to be coming from the flowers. The flies had also gathered in our dining room. I took the flowers outside and left them there overnight. On the 12/10/14 I brought the flowers back inside. Again we were inundated with flies. On the 13/14/14 I telephoned the hotel and asked to speak with the manager. I was told he had left for the day but he would be in the next day. I telephoned the next and was told he was in a meeting. I left my telephone number and asked that he call me when he was free. He duly phoned me back and we discussed the problem with the flowers. He admitted he was at a loss as to why the problem had occurred. It was agreed that he would telephone his florist to try and resolve the situation. To date I have not heard anything from the hotel. What should have been a pleasant break on the occasion of our anniversary has ended up a most unpleasant experience. This is now the 15/10 and we are still trying to rid our home of this mini infestation. At the very least I expected an apology and the flowers replaced.
The meal was great and the ambiance of the bar area was very comfortable and clean.
I was disappointed in the room as it seemed a bit tired looking compared to the dinning room and bar area.
My partner and I had decided to visit the castle and jail so decided to stay over night. The staff are friendly. The room was clean but was rather basic. I would say it was nore like a B&B rather than a hotel.
Food was very good and well served
Booked for 2 nights, requested ground floor room as we are both infirm. Was eventually given a first floor annex room which was tiny and cramped and up 18 steep stairs. Windows, bath and woodwork covered in mildew and mould. Had to leave after the first fitfull night of sleep but were still charged for 2 nights despite their failure to admit they couldn't accommodate our request for ground floor room at booking, staff admitted they didn't take "Requests" seriously.
The position is superb overlooking Loch Fyne, the room was a good size. nicely decorated with a comfortable bed. Wifi worked very well. Food was quite good, without being outstanding. The breakfast is a buffet style which is fine in itself (the bacon was particularly good).
Expected a more modern television. The breakfast buffet is somewhat limited - would expect more choice for the price. Overall they need to work a bit harder to offer value for money.
Great location! Very close to Castle and town was a few minutes walk away.
Room we had needed some TLC. Otherwise the breakfast was excellent and staff very helpful.
Location, views over Loch Fyne, pool table and bar. Food in bar was good (though some things a little bit ordinary). Breakfast was good too. Hotel room and bathroom were clean. Staff friendly and helpful.
Value for money not great. Have stayed in better hotels for £80 pn. Hotel fixtures and fittings were rather old and tired. Headboard and bedside table was all one unit and was not secured to wall properly. Hotel outside walls would benefit a whitewash.
lovely location. ideal for touring. plenty of local restaurants. very good breakfast.
A bit run down could do with a refurbishment.
Location was breathtaking, and staff were first class.
The double bed and the floor was on a slope, kept rolling off the bed did not have a good sleep, but i did see the funny side of it,would still go back to the hotel, but would like a level floor and bed next time.
My wife and I and our son stayed one night on our outward journey and one night on the return. First night was in a room in the "cottage", the second night in the main hotel. The room in the main hotel was comfortable and had a beautiful view looking out over the water. Staff were helpful and friendly and the breakfasts were very good. I would recommend a stay in the main hotel
We had two rooms in the Cottage, both were pretty run down, in one room the shower did not work at all and in the second the shower was spraying out from the tap as well as the shower head. The beds were very tired and quite uncomfortable and the decor was very dated. With a view of the overspill car park and the skip and bins it was less than we hoped for. We would have refused the rooms had we been offered those for our second stay.
Good breakfasts. Comfy, intimate lounge bar.
First impression as you approach on the A82 and turn right through the first archway to park is of a very rundown property - the exterior paintwork is peeling away badly on the public bar side, so not a good intro after a long journey. Best to park through the second archway. Inside, the stairs are on a spiral, so difficult to haul luggage up to the top floor room where we stayed. Fortunately another guest gave us a hand.
Excellent restuarant service, very good evening meal and breakfast. Location and views in this picturesque highland village are stunning.
Poor reception service, did not pass on our dining room booking. Rooms rather old and tired, bedhead was hanging off the wall.
The views The breakfast The staff
Bedroom small and a bit tired decor wise
The location of this hotel is good in Inveraray and beside the loch.
For me, the hotel was quite noisy and I didn't get much sleep. While there was minimal noise from the road outside, the wooden floor boards creaked loudly. I could also hear other guests in the passage outside and even dogs barking from inside the hotel. In addition, the hard, lumpy bed was uncomfortable. Finally, compared to the other places I have stayed at in the last three weeks or so in Scotland, the breakfast was poor. The cooked breakfast was mass produced and left in heated servers- not prepared individually.
Location was perfect, walking distance to everything, oldish building, lots of character, clean, well cared for, rooms with a view to the loch.
No elevator, which is to be expected in a building of this age and character.
