Situated on the shores of Loch Long in the village of Arrochar, Rowantreebank Bed and Breakfast is a 200-year-old cottage within Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.
Score from 210 reviews Good
Excellent friendly staff, decor tired and in need of update, but was a pleasant place to stay. There was obvious problems with subsidence as our room was on a slope and you felt as if you were going to roll out the bed, but it all adds to the character of the place. Loved my stay in inverary and I would stay at this hotel again.
Great place to stay . Great staff . Great food . Local ammenties plenty to do .
I did not meet the duke of Argyll . Could be made disability friendly with some thought .
The location right in the centre of town. The food was very good, with plenty on offer.
Nothing to not like.
We loved the comfy bed and excellent breakfast.
The hotel was a bit dated in decor
location, excellent staff.very good food well presented
bedroom rather worn looking. En suite in desperate need of an upgrade.
Lovely view over Loch Fyne Attractive village-you must also visit The George public house round the corner Good breakfast
I would recommend paying a supplement for a Loch view room - some of the rooms to the rear of the hotel are quite disappointing. Squeaky beds
location of hotel staff very friendly
to many stairs to climb to get to your room could really do with a lift for older people
Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. Location was great everywhere in Inverary within walking distance.
Unfortunately requested special food for coeliac but were unable to deliver
The staff were understanding about our request to move rooms. However there was not many staff around.
Having a tired and dated hotel is not helped by the fact that everything was uncomfortable. The beds, chairs and even the lack of pillows was not pleasant.
The view outside was stunning, unfortunately we overlooked the fire station!
The room was badly in need of refurbishing, the beds were falling to bits. Decor was awful, peeling paint and dirty marks everywhere
The Argyll Hotel was a good standard hotel of its type. I would not rave about it, but was very satisfied with my room, bed, bathroom, the staff, etc. The breakfast was excellent.
I didn't eat, apart from breakfast, in the hotel, as the food struck me as rather unimaginative and overpriced. The lounge bar was like any hotel bar, without real beer, which is all I drink, so I did not patronise it.
location, food, staff, everything
Views and food
Poor sound insulation. Inconsiderate noisy neighbours not the fault of hotel.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating and the quality of breakfast was excellent.
The hotel is a little tired and the rooms really need a little life injected back into them.
Love the character of the hotel and local area. Will no doubt return again next year x
Location was great right on Loch and very short walk to town
In desprate need of re vamp .Everything worn out ,Very uncomfortable bed again worn out could feel springs in your back . 20 year old TV only half a dozen channels. not enough tables in dinning room for all guests at breakfast so you are shuffled off to the bar area.Cereals ok ,chaepest awfull bread for toast ,warm orange juice,Very greasy cooked breakfast ,again cheapest little packet jams and marmalade none of which had seen any fruit,Burnt crossants 3 days running so not one off.
Bar prices to high compared to other hotel
The breakfast was excellent and the staff at breakfast were brill, couldn't do enough for us.
The stairs, we have been before though and know that there is no lift, just hard work when carrying bags up. Noisy neighbours in bedroom next door, but that's not the hotels fault!
Staff, Food And Service first class
Room was tired needed updated, on main road very noisey with traffic
Location, friendly staff and the hotel is right opposite the Loch which is a plus as the scenery is Amazing.
Location great food very good and staff friendly
Rooms are very dated and hotel needs a bit of work on it.
The room had a couple of maintance issues and the hotel was in need of a good revamp
the view and breakfast
too many stairs and not easy because of spiral staircase
