Armathwaite Hall Hotel  

The hotel is very relaxed with pleasant staff. We ony sampled the food in the brasserie and is was amazing the whole experiance was worth the stay and nothing was to much trouble for the staff they realy make you welcome. Although the prices are quite high when you get there you will forget about the price and enjoy a little luxury.

Staff all very pleasant and friendly. Beautiful setting. Good rooms and excellent spa esp. The outdoor tub was fun! Evening meal was superb. They cater for dogs and put my sister and her husband plus dog on ground floor. In their bedroom there was an extra small room for the dog and also the hotel supplied dog bed and treats! Their room was close to an outside door which was practical and thoughtful. The billiard room was also very well laid out.

Our room (154) had a strange sloping mattress! I was on the left hand side of the bed and felt like I was going to topple out of the bed! The pillow seemed very hard and I couldn't get comfy. However, there were other pillows I discovered in the morning so I could have done something about it had I noticed!

Location excellent. Old fashioned part of hotel is lovely.

Very small bathroom, noisy wedding guests in next two rooms. Lift outside our door on 3rd floor.

From the moment we arrived the staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful-everything was accompanied by cheerful politeness. The rooom was very spacious, comfortable and the bathroom was luxurious. Public rooms were warm and welcoming, with excellent staff service. The food was of a very high sdtandard, good choices, well-cooked and beautifully presented and served. It was particularly good to see that everything was included in the price-often in other hotels a separate charge is made for coffee and chocolates. All in all it was one of the best hotels we have stayed in

It is in a nice quiet setting with a beautiful outlook. The swimming pool and thermal suite were excellent, and the staff friendly and courteous.

The comfort and ambience of the hotel were excellent. The spa was immaculate and the staff throughout the hotel were very friendly but still proffessional.

Friendly, helpful staff. Luxurious room, excellent spa. Choice of two restaurants. Good mix of traditional decor with the benefit of modern bathroom. Lovely grounds.

Wedding guests sometimes end up mingling with residents using spa,which inappropriate for the bride and seems disrespectful as a resident wearing a dressing gown on the way to the spa

Wonderful combination of modern facilities with traditional decor - the spa is amazing and the location excellent!

From the first second you arrive the staff do everything possible to make you welcome. The room was excellent as was the food, spa, location, views, gardens etc... Not a bad word to say about the place. 100% that i will be returning.

The space and tranquility was the best thing about the holiday. If you wanted to be alone you could be.
