We were impressed by the relaxed family feel to the hotel. The ambiance and decor of the hotel preserved the property's historic roots whilst facilitating a relaxed and escapist feel. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble; staff were attentive but not intrusive. An extremely positive experience for my wife and I. |

Breakfast was awful! Soggy and poor choice, for the price you pay it should be cooked to order not a soggy buffet |

The environment was lovely. Most staff were great. The rooms were of a high standard and clean. The spa facilities were superb and we really enjoyed these. The standard of food was good. Most staff were lovely with the exception of a lady who appeared rather stuffy and in a rather unsubtle way told my partner that he should not be wearing jeans for dinner! After this comment, we felt uncomfortable during the 6 courses, despite the fact that we were both dressed very smartly. We had not been told that there was a dress code beforehand. |

The location of the hotel is amazing and the staff very professional, approachable and friendly at all times. Spa facilities are luxurious and treatments extensive and professionally presented and delivered. The food was good as was service in restaurant. Althought the room was well stocked we felt it was a bit odd that a 'restock' took place while we were in the restaurant having our evening meal. We also felt that the room was functional and did not really match our expectations of a 'luxury break' given that we paid £460. The room was smaller than expected with average decor and no view. |

The 6 course dinner menu was out of this world, excellent quality and the courses were not small as you sometimes get with 6 courses. all of the staff were extrememly polite and came in to get our beds ready every night which was a nice touch. The new spa is excellent and whilst not fully finished, the building work did not affect us during our stay |

This is an exceptional hotel. It has a most beautiful location, and views from rooms are breathtaking. The staff are very helpful indeed . The spa is very new and very well appointed; it is the best facility of its kind that we have encountered in a hotel. The dining is world class. For a hotel of this quality, I found it all very unfussy and friendly. The TV in my room was very old indeed, and the remote control did not function properly. The advertised Sky TV channels were not all obtainable. I was disappointed that there was not broadband access in bedrooms (there is in the common areas). It is not just business travellers that value this. None of this adds up to a serious complaint, however. |

It was a fabulous hotel and the new spa is very modern and you could spend a day relaxing. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the building is beautiful. The evening meal is fantastic but was a little disapointed with the breakfast. The only downside to this hotel was it was not child friendly and found that children/ babies were not catered for. Therefore I would recommend more for couples than families. |

The staff were very courteous and polite. The location, particularly the lake views were outstanding. The room we were allocated was fine, although the bathroom was shabby for this level of hotel |

Attentiveness and excellent service from all staff. Excellent food. Leisure spa facilities not to standard one would expect in a luxury hotel. However we were told a new one will by opened in January |

I loved the setting of the hotel and it felt very comfortable. There were plenty of places to sit, relax and soak up the surroundings.I thought the menus were very well planned and the food was excellent. Only negative was the spa but as that problem is being addressed I have no other criticisms. |
