It is a very convenient hotel for the centre of St Albans and near our family. We have stayed here before and enjoyed out time, staff and the owner are most welcoming. The breakfasts are superb and cooked to order. The restuarant is something special.

A nice comfortable hotel, clean rooms, free parking in the back. The staff was friendly and correct. Excellent breakfast. It's about a 10 minute walk to downtown. The room was perhaps a bit small, but I had no problem with that.

The restaurant is excellent. We were there for a large family celebration and everyone enjoyed the meal. The room we stayed in had comfortable beds and the hotel is located in a quiet area of town. The rooms also seemed to be well insulated as although the hotel was quite full we heard no noises from neighbouring rooms. Two of the three lamps in our room needed new bulbs and plug sockets were difficult to reach for plugging in phone chargers.

Helpful, friendly staff. Pleasant interior. Everything looking clean and well tidy. Comfortable bar area. Bright and clean room. A good hotel, pity there aren't more in the uk like this. Good value for money A small gripe - the breakfast coffee wasn't very nice.

The staff was very friendly (including the waitstaff at the restaurant). The included breakfast was delicious and filling. The location was great (between the train station and downtown). The room was very clean. Great deal for such a low price. I have no complaints!

Location. Near to relatives. Waitresses brought cooked breakfast to the table before we had finished eating our previous course. It would have been better to clear the previous dishes before bringing in the cooked course - as in other hotels.

The hotel was well located for our needs (a wedding at nearby Wheathampstead and Brocket Hall). It offered good value for money. The staff were efficient and friendly. Whilst we didn't use the restaurant the menu looked interesting and enticing.

Handy location near to town centre. Room, though quite small, was well laid out and had everything that was needed. Breakfast very good. Overall a very comfy and reasonably priced hotel that's handy to St Albans town centre.

“Well-run, clean, comfortable hotel one minute's walk from cathedral, 10-15 min walk from station. It was pleasingly quiet, especially considering its central location on a main road. Cafe Rouge next door - its menu is available as room service. Staff were helpful and tolerant, seeing that we arrived somewhat the worse for wear after a function.” Alex, London |

“It was a pleasure staying in a Hotel where everything worked well. There was no damage to any of the tiles in the bathroom and the hot water was plentiful, unlike other hotels that we have stayed in. Our juniour suite was fabulous with panoramic views of London city. The mini bar was fully stocked and the whole experience was thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable.” Nigel, Hereford |
