Ardmore House Hotel  

The family room that we stayed in was very spacious. Could not fault the cleanliness of the hotel. Breakfast was also excellent; there was plenty to choose from, enough to please everyone.

More tea and coffee in the room would have been nice and some biscuits to please the children.

Apart from the woman at Reception, the staff were wonderful. Great dining room. Good value breakfast. Location was superb, with easy access to London.

The room was small and not altogether clean. It had one small window that overlooked a brick wall about three feet away. The window was stuck with the catch broken so we couldn't open the window to relieve the overheating. We couldn't find a plug point for the kettle or laptop except for one near the floor at the door. When I mentioned the stuck window to the woman at Reception she appeared not to believe me, then was less than pleasant about my report of discomfort in the room. This was extremely bad value for money.

Quiet location with good parking. Excellent breakfast and very good Belvedere Italian restaurant.Easy walk to station for trains to London.

A charming hotel with lots of character and in a good location for St Albans. Recommended!

The hotel decor throughout was extremely good, pleasant staff and good breakfasts.

Rooms a little small

Very friendly and helpful staff. Single room was a good size and comfortable. Ability to book in at any time was useful as my travel was unexpected and late in the day booking made at short notice

No access to hotel from rear car park. Path from rear car park only led to garden and needs to have signpost to direct visitors to the front door.

The location - handy for walking into town. The room was clean and really comfortable. Plenty of room. Excellent value for money, and breakfast was also very good, and included in the price. I thought the whole deal was excellent.
