Hotel in desperate need of refurbishment. Room had a strong smell of drains coming from the bathroom. Cobwebs all around the windows. Definitely not worth £90 a night! Will not be staying again!
Comfy room, comfy bed, nice room, excellent hot water had lovely bath Very cosy
Much too hot but realised could turn radiator down 3ambathroom visit. Extractor fan would not go off. Night porter came and sorted. Noisy. Sirens during night. Would stay again but with ear plugs.
Staff, comfortable beds, location and value for money, would definitely go back!!!
Hotel does need some money spending on the decor but then it would be more expensive!
Building was characterful and spacious. Location good for buses to Bath. Bedrooms clean comfortable and spacious. Good value help yourself breakfast.
While the staff were delightfully friendly and willing to help they seemed completely untrained and unfamiliar with the hotel. Chaotic and disorganised.
Hotel reception well trained and knew without asking what our needs were and were thoroughly pleasant and helpful
Hotel Restaurant was poorly managed and with staff who were obviously not trained in waiting on tables. Tables badly set with no attention to detail .Our booking was lost and we had to wait 30 minutes for a table some guests already there had to wait over an hour just for their starter
Easy to get to. Plenty of car parking.
Rattling water pipes in adjacent rooms. Room too warm on arrival. Bed uneven. Decor tatty around the edges.
The location and the staff. A lovely old building that is very tired.
The room we stayed in was very noisy due to what sounded like a pump running when toilets were flushed and water was run. the main road was no problem. Rm 119
The friendliness and helpful nature of most of the staff, our room was clean and tidy, bed large and comfortable, food - plenty of it and tasty particularly breakfast. We were really glad that we requested, and got a ground floor room as the lift was out of action during our stay.
The place is beautiful, the food is delicious, the staff are amazing!
Service for food in the restaurant was a little slow.
The location was close to the Motorway which served our purpose
The room was in need of decoration as it was antiquated. We got "upgraded" to the Honeymoon suite so the mind boggles as to what the other room was like. It was next to the main road which was very noisy The receptionist tried to charge us a third more than she should have and then had to chexj through her system Frankly I've stayed in far superior 2 star accommodation.
Location good for the wedding reception we were attending.
Arrived for breakfast just after 9 am and very little food left. Eventually replaced when we asked waitress. Orange juice was gone and the last large plate was dirty.
Good cooked breakfast. WIFI good in rooms. Staff very friendly.
Poor shower, water pressure and not very hot. State of Kettle was disgusting. General décor needs updating. General cleanliness.
Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, good parking.
Broken window-pane in room covered with plywood. Looked to have been there some time. Windows generally in poor condition.
the staff are excellent and lift the hotel to a better level. Breakfast was a delight as was the lady serving. A superb location.
The noise of the hotels main waterworks next to our room - 221 was so bad that we didn't get much sleep. No lift available and about ten flights of stairs. The buildings gently crumbling grandeur doesn't compensate guests for two star accommodation. the large bed was two singles zipped together, OK but it took up most of the room space.
Hotel was warm and friendly. Breakfast was lovely. Room was cosy and comfortable.
There was nothing that I didn't like about my stay here.
rather noisey poor breakfast selection no veggie option no croissants
Friendly staff Free parking Good location Large rooms Retro 'chic'
Dining area with glass roof was major bonus.
Hotel needs major refurbishment throughout.
I'd made the reservation on behalf of my daughter I've passed on this feedback to her to complete. Thanks
Good size room, big bathroom, comfy bed, very clean. Easy access to City Centre.
comfortable room not too small tea, coffee and biscuits in room, much appreciated after long journey.
Noise from outside. to high bath for me (l have leg and knee problems) Window frame rotted Room to warm
Handy location for Temple Meads, value for money. Comfy bed and clean crisp linen.
Lift out of order so up to 2nd floor was hard as I have a gammy knee. The windows and sill in the room were really dirty, as if they hadn't been cleaned for months. The bathroom had a smell that I couldn't identify but when I ran the bath in the morning I could see the water wasn't draining away and the smell got worse so I guess it was blocked drains somewhere. And noisy plumbing!
Noisy room needs secondary glazing due to major road junction. room to small for the bed. leaking drains outside the window, creaking floors. Cracks in the ceiling. Past the point of having character needs serious renovation.
We stayed here following a car accident which meant we couldn't drive out of Bristol. We booked last minute and the staff went all out to find a room with an extra bed for our teenage son - which they did. Had a lovely bar meal and a reasonable breakfast. Bed was very comfortable. Everybody lovely.
This hotel does need some refurbishment and our room was quite hot even with the radiators off but as I said, this was a crisis, and we were very grateful for the room for the night.
