Close to where we wanted to be The restaurant was closed for evening meal. The full menu was not available for breakfast. The public areas were grubby and needed a makeover

Good breakfast but not enough staff So called double bed very small - not enough room for two people especially if you are 6 foot 3 inches tall!. Room very overheated, so we had a very uncomfortable night

The staff were the best , very helpful and friendly ,very polite and up-beat, pleasant, the location was good on the mail bus route, we went to bath and bristol in one day , breakfast was very enjoyable and good value. The rooms were very tired, but clean, the radiator did not work but Peter brought us an electric heater within minutes of reporting the fault. . We would have been disappointed had we paid the full room rate, as it is we paid £70 for 2 nights for 2 adults including breakfast.....Bargain

The hotel is stunning from the outside with gorgeous gothic features that we adored. We loved the glass roofed restaurant and the quirky stairways. Breakfast was fantastic, with so much choice. We would defernatly stay again.

The staff in the main were friendly and helpful, especially the reception area. The hotel is dated and in need of some tlc. Badly needs painting and updating. The room was very cold and the heating was inadequate. The restaurant service was appalling. We arrived for our evening meal, and although one other couple were dining there were no staff in sight. After 10 minutes we had to go and find someone. There was then just one waiter serving so everything was very slow, and the food arrived very overcooked. In the morning there was again only one member of staff, and she wanted to take our breakfast order before we had even sat down and looked at the menu. She did this with everyone, even hovering while one family were trying to seat their child in a high chair. This time the hot food was arriving before we had finishe cereal etc. There were also a large party of foreign students in the hotel who had noisily taken over the bar/lounge, and spent all night slamming various doors so we did not sleep very well.

Inclusive car parking and conveniently placed for buses in and out of Bristol. The staff seemed to be well motivated and pleasantly encouraging to their trainees. A good effort considering the difficult economic circumstances we as customers and employees have to live in today The establishment is clean and adequately organised but it is evident that the room we had (14) needed some tlc. Functional and clean but tired and in need of decoration rather than modernisation and for example the bathroom resealing.

They had a spare room! We had booked an executive room and were bitterly disappointed. Although the space was reasonable the bed was small, the colour scheme appeared to be designed by a blind man and approved by a Tunisian vagrant. Little things like biscuits with the tea/coffee, a bowl of fresh fruit, a fridge were all missing. There was nothing to associate this standard with executive. In addition, it seemed as if the local insomniac was staying above us - all footsteps appeared to be magnified and any flow of water seemed to travel down the side of the room. The dining rm/breakfast area was poorly laid out which made it difficult to manoevre. The evening meal was reasonable and breakfast average. We would probably not stay at this hotel again. A vert unpleasant expererience

The location and the old building. We booked the more exepnsive "Executive room". The Arnos Manor is run down. Dirty reception, worn-out rooms, interior in bad shape and compiled without any taste, bed sheets with holes and only one towel in a double rooms bath. The food was horrible - how can you make a scrambled egg look blue ? Breakfast drinks all used up - why are they not refilled at 8am ? We refused to eat. Avoid this hotel at any cost.

The location of the hotel was perfect for where I need to stay. The food was ok to be fair ! The hotel in general and my room (#14) in particular was very "tired" and in need of refurbishment. In my room the bathroom was particularly poor, the shower didn't work, the water took ages to run away down the sink and there was mildew on the shower curtain and around the bath. The decor of the room looked like something out of Fawlty Towers, not dirty as such, just old & worn out !

Great location. In desperate need of investment and upgrading. Despite a great location within the heart of Bristol, I would not describe the hotel as 3 star. I upgraded to an executive suite and received a very basic (2 star) rate. A real let down....

The Arnos manor hotel is convenient for visits to our family and has good car-parking facilities. The staff are friendly and we had very good value as we got a special offer. The bar is a friendly, comfortable place to sit. Our room was very spacious and comfortable, with a large bathroom. Breakfast was served efficiently and was of a good quality. We had everything that we needed for an enjoyable stay.

It was handy for our needs and close to the area we were visiting. Accepting it was mild weather the cenral heating in the hotel was very hot and it could not be controlled in the room which meant a very uncomfortable night and very little sleep.
