The staff at Arran was so helpful and accommodating! The rooms vastly surpassed my expectations and the bed was extremely comfortable. If I'm back in London I would definitely stay again. I was a young traveler but the other guests were mostly young couples or families. The hotel suits a variety of clientele and is an excellent business. A+!
I was pleasantly surprised on arrival that I had been upgraded to an ensuite double bedroom! This was perhaps as I had stayed there before. The facilities in my room were all recently renovated, clean and fully functional. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast filling and tasty.
The ensuite double room was in the basement, so access to the breakfast room was through the double kitchen. You could hear some noise from the room next door and the street outside as the walls weren't that thick, but it wasn't a major disturbance.
Location and great breakfast
The staff were excellent, very friendly
No soap in the shower
very clean and staff pleasant, bedroom i stayed in number 21, which was very spacious as was a 3 bedded family room ample room. i would recommend and book again.
shower/wash facilities inc wc, in the version of a pod type cubicle installed into such a large room with ample space, was the smallest ever cubicle that when you used any of its facilities including the toilet, you had to leave the door open, not ideal if you were sharing this 3 bedded family room.
Early check out !
The breakfast! Better than expected. The bed was ok, but a mattress pad would have made it comfortable.
I didn't get answer on my questions I sent via email before arriving and when I told the manager he didn't answer to it :-( There was a fire alarm in the middle of the night. We were the only one going outdoors. Went in through the other door and tried to talk to the night receptionist who only was interested in taping on his cellphone and saying that he couldn't speak English! Many of the staff were not English-speaking! The fan in the toilet didn't work. No toilet-paper when we arrived.
Friendly staff. Ideal location.
Coffee making facilities in the communal lounge, plus free magazines, sweets and a tv. Lovely little hotel, friendly staff, clean room, good breakfast, great location, bus stop opposite took us to Victoria Station, theatres etc.
Can't really fault it for the price, but if I have to be picky then I would say that the room was rather hot at night even with the radiator turned off - but it's better than being cold!
This hotel was convenient and cheap. It did everything that was advertised.
Although I knew before booking that there were shared bathrooms, I didn't realise the amount of stairs that were involved.
Price and location great. No problem with shared bath, always one available and clean. Staff helpful, good breakfast choices. Would stay again.
Pack light to be able to heft suitcase up stairs. 200 year old charm includes lots of stairs.
Very handy position. Clean and functional
Smell of air freshener
Very helpful gave us a ground floor room, excellent breakfast excellent staff will definitely stay again.
Nothing it was excellent
It was the first time as a family we stayed in London and my two young children had an amazing time the hotel was spacious, and clean breakfast was fabulous as the girls could have whatever they wanted and it was only a short walk into the centre
Maybe display a sign in the breakfast room starting it's self service
most of all, the location
a bit noisy (room 28)
Be aware that some rooms are very small. Mine wasjust 7 squarea meters. Ask before where they will put u.
the price, Location
Noise from the main road
Good location. Very helpful and welcoming staff. Pleasant sitting room.
overheated - though the bedroom did eventually cool down with the open window. Space in bedroom a bit cramped.
Hotel in good location near tube station, friendly staff.
Room had not been cleaned before arrival, half coffee cups and rubbish everywhere.
Proximity to Goodge Tube line was helpful for getting around London.
Stayed here 14 years ago and felt nothing had been updated or attended to since than.
Tv in the room. Wifi. good location. Nice breakfast ! Friendly staff
I paid extra for en-suit but It was a bathroom in a cupboard it was so small and smelt funny we ended up using the communal ones anyway!
Breakfast was not bad at least it was hot
Price , quite basic, bathroom smaller than my touring caravan, could do with decorating
The location. I got my own room also this year.
The same problem as last year. The window could not be closed if you opened it. Also problem with the radiator. The first night it " talked " and once woke me up. The manager did what he could to solve every problem, but the mechanic ( handy man ) was Polish and could not do so much.
Cleanliness, location, friendliness of staff, 24 hr monitored security, breakfast, 5 mins to underground (Goodge Street) only 1 change from Heathrow
