The main reason we booked this hotel was the convenience of the free luggage storage and the location. Travelling to London by train via Euston, the hotel was only a 15 minute walk away, as well as a 5 minute walk to the nearest subway station. The availability of a luggage room meant that we could leave our bags at the hotel before check in and after check out, allowing us to enjoy the rest of the day without having to carry our luggage or pay £16 per day to leave our luggage at the train station. We expected there to be a shortage of hot water after reading previous reviews, but there was plenty during our stay. The breakfast was adequate; we had a few slices of toast and a glass of orange juice which kept us going until lunchtime (one less meal to pay for). The bedroom, bed linen and bathroom were basic but clean, the only negative was the carpet; it looked like it needed a deep clean or replaced. The room was quite warm despite it being January and very cold outside (aprox 1 c), so not sure if I would stay here in the summer. The receptionists were not very welcoming or friendly. Our room was facing onto the busy side street, which gets very noisy from 7.30am onwards.

The Arriva hotel was in a perfect location for us, walking distance from Kings Cross station. The room was perfectly adequate with a fridge, hairdryer supplied and a small en suite with a shower with plenty of hot water. I dont think it could be beaten at the price.

This hotel was dirty, unsafe , smelly, broken windows, dirty bathroom, uncomfortable bed. Unhelpful staff very bad value for money.I Checked out a night early as it was so bad, they then refused to refund the money back for that night, even though I wasnt staying. This is a trading standards issue aas this hotyel is not as described,Please can you investigate this as I require a full refund ans the hotel wasnt willing to do this .

The hotel was well located. Room was not spacious but adequate. Unfortunately the breakfast facilities and food variety was below the standard we experienced at other similar priced hotels and B&Bs across the uk on our stay there. We travelled for 3 weeks throughout Scotland, Wales and England and the lack of hot breakfast, and variety of breakfast options at Arriva was the worst we encountered.

Basically very poor staff communication when I'd paid an extra cost for a room for two with two single beds only to find on arrival it was a room for two with a double bed - even though the printed online page clarified the two single beds. The staff member replied it was an online option that doesn't have to happen so we were sent to the base to a shabby room. For the price we paid I wouldn't even put it as good as any hostel I've ever stayed in...very poor quality. But the location is good very near the king's cross tube station! Only stay there, if it is a necessity, ok!

We hated this hotel, the room was extremely small, it didn't fit our luggage ( 1 big, 1 medium, 2 small), the walls were gross (some infiltration going on), the street was so noisy that was very difficult to sleep, it was a total nightmare. We'll never go back to this hotel. The breakfast was reasonable, but the room is horrible. Good thing we just stayed there 1 night, the location is good, close to St. Pancras train station. Liked the location Quite near to the Station. it was fairly quiet in the evenings but quite noisey early hours of the morning at the rear of the premises ( houses / Flats opersite.) the heating ( Radiator) was very hot for such a small room with no way to regulate the heat.had to sleep with the sash window open hence the noise ??

Leaving The receptionist was unwelcoming in the extreme despite the fact that I had telephoned the hotel in advance to advise them that I would be arriving late; his manner was rude and he actually shouted at me on the phone to tell me he would send my taxi away if I did not come down immediately. Also, in the middle of the night I discovered a cockroach in my bathroom; when I tried to catch it to take it down to reception in the morning after having fetched my glasses to make sure it was a roach, it had disappeared

Very quiet and easy to find. Close to a couple of cheapish restaurants. No head board on bed. Only one pillow each and no spare in room. Duvet rather thin for winter use.

Good location, near to Kings Cross underground and convienient for the gig we went to in nearby Camden. Nice room with ensuit bathroom. Breakfast included, for the price we paid was great. My friend was bitten a few times by something in the room. I didn't feel anything but the room was pretty hot even with the window open. Didn't like the fact that you have to pay £5 for wifi but all in all this is a good little hotel and great value for money.

Cconfortable beds, clean bedsheets, clean towels. Ffilthy room, filthy bathroom with hair found in the sink and in the very tiny shower cubicle. We even discovered a mushroom of about 15 to 17 centimeters tall growing on the carpet near the entrance to the bathroom. When this was mentioned to the receptionist, her reply was disbelief as, according to her, the carpet had been recently changed. Still she promissed to look into it. The room was very hot as the central heating had no heat-regulating system and although the radiator's upper half was cold, its lower half and the large heating pipes running few centimeters above floor, were boiling hot and kept the room very warm.

My wife and I found the staff very helpful. The room was simply furnished, but functional and clean. Bathroom small but again functional. The location is very close to Kings Cross Station which was very handy for transport to other areas of London. Altogether really quite satisfactory.

Please note that Arriva will try to charge you for using Visa, mc or amex. You don't have to pay this. Although not illegal, it is profiteering by the hotel. The cc companies hate this sort of thing and will black-list the hotel and not allow them to use their cards if you inform them of this. I didn't pay the charge. (Note that amex charge a vendor 3.5% on each transaction; Visa and mc charge 1.5%. Arriva will ask you to pay 3.5% on any credit card. Sheer profiteering.

allmost everything included in such a small room... 10 minutes walk from King cross station, vey convenient. The reception staff was a bit rude when we came at late night, but the staff in the morning are all nice. I smelt strange flavor in the duvet and blanket. The sewer in the basin was stuck...

Close to train station. Friendly staff. Bed and bathroom clean One of the reasons we chose Arriva was because their web page stated they offered shuttle service to the airport. They did not. Although the bed and bathroom were clean, the carpet was disgusting and the back of the hotel had piles of old mattresses and garbage left out in the rain. The room was extremely hot with no fan. The window needed to be open, it was very loud outside. The television did not work for more than a few minutes at a time. The "continental" breakfast was marginal and no wheat bread, only white toast offered. Very expensive internet service available in lobby. Had to pay 3.5% surcharge to use credit card

Where do I start? Room was dirty, toilet whistled, tv didn't work, breakfast was rubbish, bed was old and uncomfortable, shower had very low pressure, I had a view of a fire escape, window had metal grid covering which I'd be fairly sure wouldn't budge in case of a fire. I've spent many nights in hostels in South East Asia and The Arriva is still by far the biggest dump I have ever stayed in. I wouldn't let my dog say here.

Last minute booking at a reasonable price (80 pounds a night). The breakfast scenario was terrible. They advertise a continental with "fresh fruit". You get some white toast and ghetto jam, coffee and there's a plate a cheese and spam-looking ham thrown in the corner. The room can't seat enough people, so sometimes you have to wait for others to finish eating. And it's cramped in there. Doesn't help that breakfast is only an hour long.

“The staff at Crestfield were absolutely friendly and helpful. The room was small as are all London hotels that are affordable, but I didn't mind it at all. The best part of staying at the Crestfield Hotel is the location. It is a block away from the King's Cross tube stop, which is in the heart of the city. Also, the Pancras International train station is there as well, making easy to grab a train to France/Belgium and the rest of Europe. Can't beat it!” Tony, Studio City |
