Score from 540 reviews Fabulous
excellent views, good for travel to other parts of the area,s
food poor, fried breakfast limited cold tomatoes which was said to be grilled , when asked if I could have beans I was told no milk jug on table low table cloth was marked.
We thought the hotel was run very efficiently. Meals were on time and done in a very orderly manner.
No food was available after 10 pm.
Comfortable rooms, but a bit small. Clean and good location.
Breakfast soft boiled eggs were spot on.
I used to work around here in the 80's and nothing seems to have changed since then. The carpets and standard of paintwork needs updating.
service and facilities
No black pudding at breakfast
The view from bedroom. Comfortable bed very good breakfsst
Litter on floor on arrival. Very difficult to open windows. tiling shabby in bathroom Door entry difficult others also thought this too.
Location on Loch Long
Drafts windows in bedroom.
Some staff members where kind and helpful. Specially the boy at the reception.
The room was depressing, in great need of renovation and dark. There was no light bulb in the table-light. The shower was uncomfortable and uncontrollable. It was a constant puzzle to get the shower working. There was a towel heater that kept burning your legs because the space between the bath, the toilet and the heater was so narrow. The room smelled bad. Some staff members where grumpy. The neighbourhood was a bit depressing.
Comfortable beds and a nice view from the room. Bath!
Reception was very good
Resteraunt as the staff appeared grumpy food was average and no sweetners provided for tea of coffee
The location of the Hotel and loch views.
When we arrived for our stay on Saturday afternoon and went into our room there was an electrical cable connected to the heated towel rail wires which were exposed. The cable should have been raggled into the wall flush and not exposed. The heated towel rail was loose and a shambolic repair which endangers paying guests was left. The foreign handy man attended and could do nothing about above problem until the Monday of our departure. My experience in the building trade allowed me to assess this problem from a different perspective. The electricity to this area of room or room could have been switched off. Said wiring could have been removed the wall taken back to a recess and wiring placed within. Fixture fully made secure and level on the wall where it should have been. Quick drying plaster used to repair hole left when recess was made. Job done. As we could not enter our room until after 3pm for cleaning. We were astounded when we noticed that the wc in the en suite had not been cleaned properly and there were urine splashes on the side of the lavatory pan and on the floor surrounding the lavatory pan. The lavatory seat made of plastic was very badly stained and made of plastic. It had outlived it's use as this could no longer be clean. A brand new wooden lavatory seat would not have cost any more than £15 when purchased from a DIY store. Problem solved. Regarding the urine stains a foreign male cleaner attended and cleaned the lavatory pan and surrounding area sufficiently. Job done.
we only stopped for 1 night on our way up to Skye. The location was great with a lovely outlook onto the loch.
location - great for exploring loch lomond and the western highlands and very accessible from glasgow.
The location of this hotel and it's facilities mean it is always going to attract visitors, and I felt that because of this it had stopped trying to impress. A little disappointed by the food, good choice and enjoyable but nothing special.
Everything about the hotel. In particular the staff and the food was excellent.
The location is a bit disappointing. The loch is dirty and there is rubbish along the banks.
Staff were very friendley and helpfull
1 room was a mess but they sorted it
This hotel was dirty
Food was of low standard
In need of renovation.
The room was old and tired Carpet was dirty Far too expensive (£90) Told that breakfast finished at 10 an but it finished at 9am.
Lovely view from all downstairs areas. Enjoyed good breakfast. Cleanliness of room and en suite plus toiletries in shower room. Plenty of free parking
View of oil drums from room but as late booking and short stay didn't affect our enjoyment too much
I appreciated the supply of a lunch when I had to leave before breakfast.
I loved the position. Our room looked over the Loch - what more could you ask for! We arrived late in the day and were slow getting to the dining room. Even though the kitchen was supposed to be closing soon, they did accommodate us. The service was good and the meals - dinner and breakfast - were excellent. We found all the staff helpful.
Location was ideal rooms were comfortable and breakfast was good.
Had real problems with the wifi and eventually gave up.
