The bed was a bit small and the doors were very squeaky!
Staff are brilliant, and always extremely helpful and polite.
The side of the building my room was on, the road noise is excessive. But then I do live in a non urban area on a minor road, so not used to much traffic noise.
Friendliness of staff
Thickness of walls
A very pleasant and comfortable stay wuth friendly staff. Our bedroom requireda little updating but everything was clean and food was good. we certainly loved our view of Loch Long each day
We were on 2nd floor so wifi wasn't brilliant in the room....needed a range extender or additional router - Was much better downstairs.
Nice quiet room with good beds and view
Roast lamb was over cooked and pretty average
Position and views excellent - especially front rooms - take a side room (south side) for extra quietness - no Lough but view of mountain instead. Excellent value for money.
Very Good value for money but carpet in first floor corridor not quite 'fresh'. Damp showing round window in room. Air extraction from bathrooms especially noisy. It wasn't ours, the door was shut but the whole system seemed to hum all night - headachy!
the staff was very helpful, pleasant. the breakfast had a good choice of menu (even though mushrooms and haggis was on it, there was never none), quick service. the views of the loch was stunning (if you had a front facing bedroom), the breakfast room overlooked the loch. room service was quick and effiecent
there was several steps up to the main entrance, then again to the reception. The free Wi-Fi did not work on all of my 3 day stay. staff helpful to get it going for you at reception, on your laptop but has soon has you went upstairs the signal went and there was no internet.
Comfy beds and clean rooms excellent breakfast
Booked double room got single beds also booked loch view got grassy view with old goalpost hotel bins below window staff in and out with rubbish banging lids shut
Food was excellent
Wifi connection not very good
The view was amazing
Parking was an issue if you can back late.
This is a great place on the way to north highlands , Skye etc..
Location was good.
Hotel is run down and in need of an update. Beds worn and uncomfortable. Wifi was unreliable. The walls appear to be made of cardboard as you can hear everything in the hotel.
We liked our room as it had a lovely view over the loch. The room was spacious and comfortable bed. Breakfast was good we enjoyed our one night stay
The staff, the hotel and the views.
The live music in the bar.
Most of it
Having to book dinner at Reception. You need to make the reception staff more welcoming.
The location was excellent and so were the facilities of the hotel. Attentiveness of restaurant and bar staff (evening and breakfast)
Front of desk staff was covering both the bar and front desk leaving guests waiting
lovely comfy room, had to put heater on as it was a really stormy day and got quite cold. Had a meal in the restaurant which was reasonably priced then spent the evening in our room watching the amazing weather as it swept through the loch and then cleared and repeated. The staff were very nice and helpful. cant comment on the entertainment as we were not interested in attending anything. There is a post office and small store nearby should you need to stock up on macaroon or tablet to go with your complimentary tea and coffee in your room. Did stay in one of the better rooms so maybe that helped
cant think of anything
- Quiet lakeside location
- Very small room and small bed - Severe water damage on ceiling - Power shower was not turned on by default and was not labelled so ended up with cold shower
Warm and great view in room. Beds comfy and wi-fi to use.
Service at breakfast. Didnt get most of it, had to ask for tea and toast after half an hour and when it came it was cold. Food was cold. Understaffed. Room had ripped sheets and no soap and out of date hot chocolate. Couldnt check in until 3pm. Didnt put childs bed in. Overpriced.
The restaurant and the breakfast in particular were very good. The staff were very helpful and friendly, one of the receptionists helped us to plan our walk around the Trossachs and the walk that she recommended was excellent!
The Wifi system was a little sketchy and slightly cumbersome to use.
There was mould and damp in the room, exposed wires and stains up the walls
brilliant staff,especially owner ! really nice food,beautiful location,attentive restaurant servers,wonderful warm dry room,great shower,quiet & peaceful.cannot fault it .thanks guys !
The location is unbeatable. When I booked I didn't realise we weren't on Loch Lomond ... And was a bit worried how we would be able to get around (travelled through public transport). But it couldn't have been easier. Also I felt like the views on Loch Long and Ben Arthur were better than Loch Lomond. The hotel itself is at least a three star! Don't understand why it gets a two star.
Honestly can't think of anything.
Location and parking excellent. Waitress worked so hard.
Tiny room. Very unpleasant humming noise at night. Had to change rooms. Chef can't cook steaks. Long wait at breakfast - need more staff. Strictly for coach parties.
