Totally relaxed atmosphere in an off beat art filled hotel run by young people. The decoration makes the place live up to its name. Great location too and very acceptable prices. Very helpful and friendly personnel in a very informal atmosphere. If I come back to Brighton this will be my place of choice again. |

The various artworks on the walls. The comfortable bed and powerful, hot shower. The childish "art" on our bedroom (9) wall was intrusive and ugly. The room could have been small but beautiful. It felt like we'd woken in a kids bedroom. The breakfast was mean and unimaginative. I think they should stretch to fresh rolls and butter, instead of dreary cereal and bog-standard toast only. |

the location was very good Hotel needed a good clean, grubby carpet and fittings. A member of staff let themselves into our room to tell us they had put us in the wrong room... I was getting changed at the time... |

the room was quirky - but not as 'arty' as expected as per website. Bathroom not finished properly. Friendly staff and clean room though. Better breakfast - as they do in europe |

The cupboard wasn't the bathroom, the curtain rail fell off, the shower head unscrewed, the bedside light was weird, the bed was lovely and comfy, the party downstairs seemed fun, the breakfast was minimal and informal and served by a very sleepy lady who had no idea what she was doing, the art work was utterly un - buyable - to summarise it was a great and relaxed stop-over! |

unusual design and kindness of the staff, simplicity, free internet connection in rooms (wifi and cable) half filled mug in my room at check in, not too timely breakfast, broken shutter, window cannot be locked (prone to burglary) |

Quirky art in every room (possibly lesbian inspired) something different however heavily outweighed by premium price for pride weekend (£100 per room per night) and apalling facilities Most definately, we booked two rooms 6 months in advance for Pride weekend (1st weekend in August) paid premium price. Pleasant greeting by staff, however no water for shower (neither hot nor cold) on both mornings. Complained to staff Sat morning no apology, no price reduction. Second morning complained again, different staff feigned suprise, but my friend who was waiting in reception told me later that many people had complained just before me and one had refused to pay. Since we had paid up front no further recourse. If you are considering this hotel, especially during Pride, I suggest you look elsewhere or remain dirty for your stay ! |

I like the overall feeling of the hotel, it's like staying in an art gallery. The doors of the shower room are made of glass, which is transparent, unconvenient for some people! |

The atmosphere was good and the view was fabulous, staff were friendly and helpful. The guest room walls are incredibly thin and I could hear conversations from the next door room quite clearly. Room a bit small but that wasn't a problem. |

The Artist Residence is a treasure trove of paintings, sculptures and objets d'art, each room individually decorated. I had a balcony overlooking the square and pier, beautiful view. Quirky, different and highly recommended experience! And friendly. Lack of restaurant not a problem, dozens of eating places nearby. I'll go back. |
