Complimentary breakfast, free parking and wifi, walking distance to everywhere, spacious rooms and absolutely quiet.
Duvet cover ripped, hotel way too hot
View of river and sunrise, location to centre, good breakfast, comfortable room.
Traffic a bit noisy at night
Hotel was clean, room was good. Good walking distance from both city center and university locations up north
Continental breakfast was okay, but certainly could use more choice of toppings for on toast and sandwich (maybe some ham or salami, as toppings were limited to cheese and jelly.
Great location, clean and comfortable
friendly and efficient staff, good food well presented, well situated for City.
double bed just too narrow, kept falling out or bumping partner all night.
The hotel was clean and the facilities good. It was a reasonable walk into the town (15 to 20 minutes).
The hotel was bland and impersonal.
Ideal location for centre of Cambridge
Comfy bed Nice Room Nice Bar Nice Restaurant Lovely Staff Posh showers :)
Wish I could of stayed longer!
Great location. Very pleased to have a room overlooking Jesus Green. Hotel warm and comfortable and staff welcoming.
I stay regularly at Christmas time. It didn't happen this year but there has been a tendency for staff at breakfast time to be too chatty with each other at the expense of providing best service for the customers.
Location . Shopping . Friendly pubs .
Arundel House Hotel is well placed for me when I spend the day in the university library and then drive to Lincolnshire to visit my mother. It is comfortable and friendly and although on a fairly busy road the rooms at the back are quiet. Although small, the room has everything I needed and it's nice to be able to find a hotel with single rooms. The food is good. I feel comfortable staying here on my own. I wish I could find a hotel like this in London at this price!
The bar and restaurant can be a bit chilly, but the radiators in the bedroom and shower room are on a thermostat so I cranked the heat up there. The room is not big, but perfectly adequate. I prefer a double bed, but I don't to pay for a double room so I shouldn't complain!
(1) The staff were excellent - helpful and courteous without being overbearingly so. My thanks to them. (2) Location is great. Close to the shopping area, my office and the famous Cambridge colleges. (3) Room decor is good. housekeeping was excellent. (4) WiFi quality is excellent, plus its free.
(1) No lift is a disadvantage. I had to lug my suitcases over three flights of stairs. (2) The shower area was a bit too cramped. (3) The orientation of the TV relative to the bed was not right, at least not in my room. (4) The breakfast buffet was a bit too plain, and it became boring after a while. Consider adding some meat dishes to it, even if cold.
Hotel was in a great location within walking distance of shops, bars and restaurants. Hotel was very comfortable staff friendly and helpful. Room was very cosy and warm. The food was of a very high standard and very generous portions.
The location is ideal. I like the understated staff presence and friendly approach.
Very handy location for Cambridge (10 min walk into city centre). Free car park at hotel great.
The location is lovely overlooking the River Cam as it does. The room was clean and adequate, would definitely stay again.
No lift, the decor is a little dated, the staff are polite but not a single one is smiling!
Elderly guests. We would have appreciated help with our bags. Two flights of stairs were too much for us. The staff were polite but not particularly warm.
Good location, easy to walk into Cambridge from hotel
Very thin walls.
Comfortable and quiet. Lovely location across from the river. Pleasant B&B. Good breakfast.
Lovely spacious ground floor room with ideal view of the Cam. and Christ's Piece.
Our stay was short because we could n't bring the dog.
Old world charm Restaurant View over river Cam
Disinterested reception staff Aging fittings
Nice high ceilinged room but very lacking in character, and on a busier day road noise from Chesterton Rd would have been very irksome
General sense of people not caring much
