Well-located in Cambridge city centre, Cambridge City Hotel is set amid historic colleges and excellent shopping. It has a restaurant, Irish pub, a gym and a sauna.

Overlooking Parker's Piece, this 4-star Best Western Plus The Gonville Hotel is a 5-minute walk from the historic centre of Cambridge. The hotel offers free parking and rooms with free Wi-Fi.

Made of 2 Victorian houses built around 1900, Ashley Hotel offers full English breakfasts, free Wi-Fi and free parking, a 20-minute walk from Cambridge town centre.
Score from 452 reviews Good
Not a bad experience, but reception staff were not particularly welcoming. The lady who served at breakfast was very helpful and pleasant.
Very clean, good location, big car park
Easy access to Cambridge town centre, nice view over the river and park
Had to pay extra for breakfast as not all options were included in the bed and beakfast price
The location is good and road outside is quiet in the evening. A view of the cam and Jesus park is beautiful with the small clusters of daffodils swaying in the wind. A short walk to the left of the hotel takes to a handful of reasonably priced pubs which can provide good food at a good price. The room in The Coach was larger than average. The power shower over the bath was fine.
I was lied to by restaurant supervisor who said that bread rolls, blueberries, raspberries, poached eggs, dried fruits etc were not available. The receptionist said there was a safe in the room which is incorrect. The welcome pack said they are being installed but safes are available in reception which is false. The room service leaflet lists bread rolls as available but not according to the staff. The toilet in the room can only be flushed with seat down.
Comfortable with very nice public spaces. Bar and restaurant areas all very good.
Bed a bit small- we are used to king size. Also, I prefer a bath to a shower, but I think rooms may be bigger in the annexe.
friendly staff, nice breakfast, pleasant restaurant, clean room
horrible, very soft bed, room very cold
The location was good and the shower...bed was ok.
The people that run the place need to work on how they greet their guests...not good!
A pleasant walk from the hotel into Cambridge; an attractive conservatory for breakfast; free parking at the back of the hotel; nice view over Jesus Green
Unavoidable traffic noise along Chesterton Road
Room comfort, space and bathroom.
You could have had much better bread available at breakfast.
Location, view from room ,and parking
Worst breakfast in a long time. Really mean. Full English used to be included and for £137 for the night without bath appalling coffee and some toast a weary croissant and a bit of cheese and fruit was pathetic. Sullen waitress also put us in an airless corner of the room and not in the conservatory for some reason.
The restaurant in the conservatory; friendly helpful staff; the full breakfast is excellent.
Wonderful view of river from large bay window, ample parking, easy walk to town or just along the river, delicious food, welcoming tasteful room..
The hotel was warm and in a central location.
I could hear everything going on next door - the rooms need to have better noise insulation. I was disappointed that the sound proofing was so poor.
The location of the hotel is excellent. Having free and ample parking is a huge advantage.
The extra charge for a cooked breakfast.
We loved the friendliness of the staff, cleanliness of the room, excellent facilities such as the beautiful conservatory in which we had a wonderful dinner in, lovely food, lovely room. All in all a great hotel which we thought was more worthy of a 4 star rating than the 3 in states.
Nothing really. The bed could possibly be a little firmer as this is something we are used to. However, this is a personal preference. The room overall was lovely.
Good location to explore the city, yet in a quiet area
I did not got the same attention from the staff as a solo traveler than the other travelers who were couples.
Cleanliness, facilities and private Parking space
Poor greeting from the reception staff on duty, no smiles. Despite having booked the room a month in advance we did not get the room that we had requested and the staff in charge could not even find our booking which we had made through Booking .com. The room offered was on the third floor which was four flights up with no lifts. This made it difficult to carry bags up and no assistance was offered. We were not offered any compensation for the mix up and had to wait anxiously before this was sorted out. I do not think we got the superior room that we had booked and paid for. The mattress was also of very poor quality and the shower did not drain leaving us standing n a pool of water while showering. The staff at breakfast did not smile and we were put on a table with stained tablecloth used by previous guests.
We were particularly impressed by the standard of service in the conservatory
Good convenience for cambridge
I live in the area and the Arundel has a good reputation. My opinion is that it survives only on its reputation. The hotel is tired and in desperate need of updating, also the rooms were not clean . Not value for money
Everything very clean and tidy, staff very polite, room a good size and warm and quiet. Great one night stay.
Friendly staff. Parking. Hotel has character.
Double bed seemed smaller than normal. Restaurant lacked any atmosphere.
Good Old Fashioned Service in Comfortable Surroundings
The Arundel is ideally situated for walking into Cambridge. This city was our home for 50 years and it was made extra special for us to have a room that looked over the Cam and Jesus Green.
There is nothing that we did not enjoy.
excellent location and ample parking and spotless bathroom
Cheerful , helpful staff and the quiet convenient location.
Double bed too small .
