Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Would stay there again.

Excellent friendly service. Our room was warm, clean & well-furnished with a very comfortable bed. Breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice.We had dinner in the bar a couple of times; the food was simple but good & drinks reasonably priced. Visiting in mid-January, we weren't sure what to expect, but would definitely stay there again!

Everything and looking forward to staying there again.

The room we got moved into was room 311. This room was lovely, very modern comfy king bed, large bathroom. Breakfast was very nice, friendly staff. Overall my stay at the ascot was a very good experience :)

The first room we got up in was named Chester. The room had a seperate lounge and bedroom with a small bathroom with spa bath. The actually bedroom was rather small and the bed was rock solid, I could actually feel the spring upset neither me. Cleanliness was fairly good but found hairs in the bath. I wasn't expecting the superior double to be so dated and be so small so asked if I could be moved as I wasn't happy with the room.

I have stayed before and thought it was good value.

Friendly, knowledgable staff operating a well maintained mid priced hotel in a central location for the seafront and within 15 mins walk of the main shopping area of town

Minor criticisms: 1. although the room was spacious with a pleasant sea view, the glow from the street light permeated the curtains - a light sleeper might have a disturbed night. 2. the hotel does not have private parkiing - although guests can drop off outside the reception the area has many narrow roads and apartments which could result in parking some distance away (Note: on street parking is very safe on the Island).

No toiletries in our bathroom on first night! We think this was an oversight.

Nothing will be back next year for Manx GP

Great location, friendly and helpfull staff. We enjoyed our stay.

On the expensive side, however I do understand this was due to it being Manx GP week.

The staff were very friendly and helpful in all departments. The breakfast was very well presented and you got what you ordered - hot and generous - home from home! Bedrooms were very airy and comfortable especially the sea front rooms which I would recommend - the sea gulls never go to sleep!!

The only thing I didn't like about the hotel was when you came in at night you could'nt get a tea/coffee/drink or food - everything was closed up (@ 12midnight). But having said that it was not noisey and you had a good night sleep.

The staff were really friendly and helpful and made us very welcome. The breakfast was really good and also the food in the evening. The cleaner we met was very friendly and helpful also. In fact everyone in the hotel were really great and we could not have been more comfortable in this hotel. We shall certainly return to the Ascot. Hopefully there will be no repetition of what we have listed below in the next box.

We did have one complaint about the Ascot. We stayed in the Curragh room and the room next to us number 111 which had its window adjacent to us at the back, the people in there had their light on shining in our bedroom and also their window wide open. We were woken up at 3.30 am in the morning with their television blasting out. We had our 7 year old granddaughter staying with us and did not like to complain in the middle of the night. I was still awake at 5.30 am with the TV still blasting out. I reported this to reception the next day. The following night they were at it again and talking very loud, they woke us up again in the middle of the night. After a while my husband knocked on the wall and they shut up for a while but then started again. I believe it was a young couple. We were leaving to go home that day so thought it was not worth complaining about. We would like to come again so hopefully you could try to do something about this for other people staying. The position of room 111 to the Curragh is a real problem.

Service was great, staff friendly

Shower leaked when running bath, jets in bath stank really bad when used. Wasn't pleases. Lift was very small and old, didn't feel safe

Good location, good food for breakfast. Room clean and comfortable. staff very approachable and helpful.

If i was picky, the shower head was a bit to small for a decent shower.The windows did no open wide enough.

A minor niggle, and it only affected me on one occasion, but evening meals are not guaranteed in the restaurant. Private functions are given preference which means that hotel guests have to eat in the bar area (same menu provided) or find another restaurant (which can be a little awkward on a Saturday night). The hotel, of course, is bookable as bed and breakfast only, so this inconvenience is covered as far as the proprietors are concerned.

I was pleased with the accommodation, the food was goood, I enjoyed my stay.
