David was great, breakfast was nice. It was clean enough.
It was cold in my room. Its a basic level of any howl to be warm enough in a guest room specially if you pay more than £216 for couple of nights. Unfortunately I won't go back to this hotel anymore. Wifi didn't work as well.
The house has been lovingly restored to its Victorian glories. The breakfast is excellent and the staff are helpful. The room was clean warm and comfortable It is a short trip by car, train or tram into Manchester. This was my second stay
There was nothing I did not like. Anyone who wants to stay in the centre of Manchester probably would not stay here.
Everything was very clean and in working order. I was also surprised to find Ovaltine as an option by the kettle! Breakfast was delicious, and although they didn't technically cater for gluten free, they allowed the option to bring your own stuff to toast/cook. The "Bury" black pudding is one of the best black puddings I've had!
Only slight negative was that the walls and ceiling were very thin, so the loud guys above my wife woke her up in the middle of the night with their loud continuous discussion, and then the next door people woke her up early when they got up.
all of the facilities were really good, staff food and the transport links were brilliant, even had a bus stop outside it is rated high in the aA and so it should be recommended highly
Staff were very friendly and helpful Breakfast was excellent Room was impressive Price
shower was too low
The Victorian building was beautiful, they had kept the decor in keeping with the period. Host were very helpful and pleasant.
Welcoming staff. Lovely room and an excellent breakfas.
Having an adjoining door into next doors bathroom proved noisy. Also thin walls meant that a "domestic" kept us awake in the early hours.
Bed. Breakfast Relaxing hotel have booked again for sep
Very kind and helpful staff, great breakfast, great service
Place was smaller than usually suits my taste, especially for a 4 star place
Location and friendly staff
early check in limit too hot
Clean. Hot shower.
A little small. Careful with your head on the low beams on the ceiling. Wifi and TV on and off. Breakfast pricing policy unclear.
The decor was very tasteful
Difficulty in locking my door
Lovely dining area, good breakfast, comfortable, well looked after.
I booked this hotel in a hurry, the eveining before we travelled, so wasnt too sure what to expect. I travelled with my mother, sister and 14 year old son. We all loved the hotel. It was so characterful, both in terms building and contents, and the proprietor who was lovely, and very welcoming. Our rooms were stylishly decorated and furnished, and very comfortable. The breakfast was lovely, and fresh, served by a very pleasant and helpful lady. No hesitation recommending this hotel.
Top notch hotel, with a fabulous manager, who could not enough for you to ensure that every aspect of our stay was spot on, thank you very much we will be back very soon.
We were looking for somewhere close to the Quays but not costing an arm and a leg. The Ascott was perfect. Close to M602 J2 and only 5min from J3 turn off. Nice friendly hotel. Clean and well maintained and a classic english breakfast with good produce. Short walk to Eccles station (and Smiths restaurant) and I believe there may also be a tram station closeby so getting into the city should be easy. On site parking. Will almost certainly use again.
Nothing to dislike.
Very accommodating owners
Bed was very uncomfortable.
friendly and approachable, helpful staff. The staff were lovely and made the visit
Welcome was warm, friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean. The communication was good. The breakfast was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Although, the budget room was quirky it was adequate with a comfortable bed and the shower had plenty of hot water. We were allocated a key to the front door which was always locked making us feel safe and secure .
To nit pick, the towels were abit hard.
Convenient for Central Manchester
No vegetarian breakfast despite providing advanced notice. Just remove the meat and, hey presto! its a veggie meal even though we paid the same price as other guests.
Friendly staff and guests. Had a key so we could come in when convenient
Rooms are cozy and clean. Staff is very friendly.
People that come to the Ascott I assume are on holiday; breakfast is served too early (from 7.30 to 8.30 during weekedays and from 8.30 to 9.30 in the weekends). You need to allow more time. Check-out is also too early (10.30) and on Sundays and holidays nobody is available between 13 and 17. Someone needs to be always available.
The deco was impressive.
The street lights were a bit much. The curtains should be darker.
