Ashburn Hotel  

Το ξενοδοχείο ήταν ακριβώς όπως το περίμενα.Εχοντας ψάξει εξονυχιστικά το πού θα μείνω είχα διαβάσει σχόλια πελατών,είχα δει προσεκτικά τις φωτογραφίες του δωματίου,είχα διαβάσει τα τετραγωνικά του.Μου άρεσε το οτι ήταν σε πολύ καλή θέση,ήταν καλόγουστα ανακαινισμένο,πολύ καθαρό,είχε μπουρνούζια,παντόφλες,καλης ποιότητας καλλυντικά,σεβάστηκε κάποιες επιθυμίες μου όσον αφορά οροφο δωματίου,μη καπνίζοντες,ησυχία.Το πρωινό ήταν επαρκές,το προσωπικό ευγενικό.Θάθελα μεγαλύτερο δωμάτιο αλλά γνώριζα πρίν το κλείσω οτι ήταν 22τμ.

The staff tried their best to help us, but their hands were tied to some extent because of managerial policies out of their control.

First of all, the heating system in our room did not work. The thermostat did not respond at all when we pushed appropriate buttons. When we called the front desk to find out what could be done, they responded that the heating system does not work in our room (#205) and that we should open the window if we were too hot. We did that, and the street noises made it difficult for us to fall asleep. The problem was not solved the next day, either. We wrote a letter to the manager, who agreed to reduce our ~$1100 bill (for 4 nights) by ~$70-- better than nothing but did not solve our temperature regulation problem. It did not seem to matter to the manager that the Ashburn Hotel would get a bad review from us. Second, breakfast was served from 7-10 am. We went down to breakfast one morning at 9:30 and there were no seats available. We were told to wait upstairs in the lobby, which we did, and that they would call us, which they didn'T. When we went back downstairs to the breakfast room to see what was going on, we found available seats, but the food was almost all gone - just one undesirable danish roll left. We asked the waitress if she could refill the platter. She said that there were no more left. It seemed to us that if they knew in advance how many people were staying at the hotel (which must have been the case), they could have planned better.

Very well decorated and great location for touring London. About 2 blocks from Underground at Gloucester Street. Nightly champagne served to all guests. Rooms come off as more "luxury" with antique furniture. Had a very nice tub/shower combo. But unlike most in England, the tub was a full size with both hand held shower head and wall mounted. Water got very hot in hotel - never ran cold. This hotel is located in the same blocks as Crowne Plaza, Marriot, and a Best Western.

Rooms are smaller but layed out well so you don't notice. They have huge closets (comparatively). Breakfast area is small but nicely adorned.

This is our third stay at the Ashburn Hotel. The staff at this hotel are very friendly and helpful. The room I booked was clean and comfortable with good facilites. There is a free glass of champagne for everyone each evening and treats are left at the bedside. The hotel is near to the tube and also within walking distance of the National History, Science and Victoria and Albert Museums. We will be returning to this hotel.

the breakfast area staff were friendly and efficient and the breakfast was good.

The reception area was very small and could only take 1 check in at a time. I did not like the clerk being seated when checking us in while my wife and I stood (there was 1 chair for the customer). This made it feel very much 'school marm'.

It says its bed and breakfast,until you ask for a cooked one and they charge you!I Was not very happy about this,it is my only complaint!

Excellent service from reception, efficient check in, very good breakfast, overall cleanliness of the hotel.

Friendliness of Staff and the location.

Continental Breakfast as standard, would prefer full english buffet style breakfast.

The staff was excellent and very helpful. Very nice drawing room. Furnishings were very nice. Very clean.

Accommodations were nice however we would have enjoyed more space and perhaps another chair in the room. The TV remote was slow and difficult to use. No sleep timer.

The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The location was superb - around the corner from a tube station, and a short walk from the museums.

The room decor was a bit tired and dated, and the carpet had several stains. (It was probably clean though.) My room was on the ground floor, and had a view of a gutter and a brick wall (with scaffolding). Uninspiring. The taps in the bathroom were fancy, but Italian, so the hot (C) and cold (F) needed translation. The shower taps were unlabelled and were a puzzle that needed solving! They worked well though.

Room heating -unable to control.Traffic noise a problem.

We had a an Executive Superior Double which was very good apart from the inability to regulate the temperature it was far too hot. The pillows were a little hard but that is a personal choice.
