Boasting modern rooms with period features within a converted stable block, The Fox is a refurbished, traditional stone pub. It serves home-cooked food alongside various speciality beers.
Score from 71 reviews Very good
Having our own outer door key to the self contained room. The room was very clean. All the procedures for breakfast etc. were clearly relayed to us.
Breakfast table was rather small. The waitress had to use the window sill. Bathroom was very clean but a little cramped.
The WI-FI signal was very good. Warm and welcoming personal. Posibility to choose a special breakfast(for diet depending guests I guess) Parking, seemed secure.
The room was quite small. Bathroom qas extremely small with a mini sink and a mini shower.
+ Breakfast + Friendly Service (Owners are wonderful) + Clean rooms + Comfortable + Excellent Value
Nothing Negative - overall, a great stay.
Friendly welcome & nice breakfast.
Everything was spotless clean, well kept and had a nice home-like feel. The owners were attentive and we felt valued guests (though only arriving late and staying for 1 night). The breakfast was good and a big portion as well.
Everything was good. If I was to be picky, I'd prefer a warmer duvet for the cool August night :)
A very warm welcome (in the Car Park!). Choice of rooms Breakfast
welcoming owner breakfast location
only a blind on the window would have preferreed a curtain as well
Convenient for station Breakfast bag provided for early departure.
The owners were terrific! Even fixed us a picnic lunch for the road!
The owners were great and very friendly. They made is feel very welcome
We were welcomed by both Julie & Ayman on our arrival and asked our preferred time for breakfast (including any special food requirements). After registering, Ayman showed us to our room and took time to explain how the shower etc. worked. Our room was clean and well decorated and we had everything we needed for a good nights sleep. The guest house is a 10 min stroll down the hill to Banbury Cross where there's plenty of restaurants etc. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice of hot and cold food, all cooked to order. All in all we'd have no hesitation in recommending Ashlea Guest House.
The room was spacious and clean, beds were very comfortable, breakfast was excellent and hosts were friendly.
The bathroom was spotless, the cleanest ever ! The mattress was comfortable.
I was disconcerted by the fact there were no smoke alarms in the bedroom or the small lobby area.
Julie and Raiman did everything possible to be kind and helpful. Julie even packed me a little lunch on the day I departed. It's just wonderful, comfortable. I will return there.
The room was spotless, the hosts were friendly, great value for the money
Breakfast left a little to be desired as far as wait time, also got my toast 10 minutes before the rest of the food
Friendly welcome, good choice of breakfasts.
Our double room was very small, but clean and comfortable.
A comfortable, enjoyable stay. My partner had an OP at the Horton, this hotel was literally across the road.
The owners were really friendly and v.helpful. The room was a twin for sole use, which gave me loads of room, and was really clean and thoughtfully appointed.
Comfortable bed. Clean room. Widows that opened. Cooked to order breakfast. Free parking Free wifi
Crampted bedroom-- okay for me as i was on my own but there was 1 double and 1 single bed in room and no space to get around. Shower head was very high and i could not lower it so hair got wet each time i showered.
The room was spotlessly clean and the en-suite immaculate. Well furnished and comfortable beds.
The guest in the adjoining room came in late. He proceeded to cough and vomit for the next two hours. He quietened down at 2.30 a.m. only to commence again at 4.00 a.m. We got very little sleep. He went from his room at 06.30 for work! When we complained to the owners they were very apologetic. He is a long term guest so I do not know how no one has not complained before. Our hard luck.
the room was comfortable and clean
being in an annexe which meant you had to go outside, round the front of the house and in the front door to get to the dining room!! the breakfast was plentiful but not all that nice especially the cooked one !!
The staff were great. Very helpful and friendly. Great value for money.
Nothing. All good.
