It was a good English breakfast, comfortable bed and warm room and everything we wanted for a short stay including free wi-fi
There is nothing to say in this section
Small room poor breakfast
A very clean, comfortable bedroom.
Our room key was programmed in for only one night instead of two and we would have been locked outside on a cold night waiting for someone to come to sort this out. We were saved by another resident going out. The communication to the sister hotel from the outside was less than desirable and only when we managed to gain access to the telephone inside the hotel could we ask for help.
The hotel felt like a home and the staff were all very friendly and made you feel at home.
Only negative was that the room gets a little hot at night.
Some low WiFi signal
Nice bedroom, very small bathroom. Good breakfast.
Not so close to city centre. Very very small bathroom.
Large room, quiet location but easy access to centre of city, excellent breakfast
Complicated check in procedure
Spacious room and good staff.
Veggie sausages were gone and even when we were early we had none in the veggie breakfast
Good points are convenience for town and car parking
The only negative comment is the excessive heat in the room despite turning off the radiators. We had Room 4 and the heat seemed to be coming from the service duct in the bathroom. .
Price reflects that there is no bar or restaurant just a good breakfast. However for £75 it's a good, clean comfortable hotel 10 mins walk into city. Plenty of parking at the back and if you time it right you can check in at the hotel and not the sister one. Would use it again
The room was warm, and good size. But they turn off the heating quite early in the evening.
We came to Cambridge to celebrate the new year. The day when we arrived to the place, it was already 7pm, very cold and dark. When we tried enter the main door, discovered the door was locked and with a note saying all guests have to do their check in in a different hotel, it says the hotel name but no street name or number. So we had to buzz the door to get the door to see what's going on, because this is quite bizarre frankly, Anyway when we pressed the buzzer t
Friendly staff and a good breakfast. What more do you want?
- Room was decent and clean - Breakfast is included and quite nice - Room is charming and has good furnishings
- IMPORTANT: You have to walk to a separate sister hotel, 400 m away to check in - No staff except for at breakfast - The carpeting and the bedding are getting old - Very expensive; hotels with similar budget finishing at half the price available in Cambridge
Clean, comfortable room, and inclusive parking. Doable walk to city centre via Victoria Bridge - allow 20 minutes.
The hotel is really an Annex of the Arundel, some minutes walk away. Having to check in there, and a fairly limited breakfast menu (though good and well cooked quantities of full English) were minor downsides.
Good Breakfast and Location
Be Aware you have to check in at another hotel first and no chance at all to check in a little early. Receptionist a little aggressive, possible because she had to cycle from main hotel
Not too far to walk into town, breakfast good.
A bit of an inconvenience to pick up keys from sister hotel which is a good ten minute walk.
We stayed here 1 night as we went to a party at a near by venue,we found the staff very helpful and courteous, our room was clean and comfortable and facilities good.
We had a room overlooking Chesterton road ,so traffic noise was a bit annoying, also the room was very hot and there was no individual thermostat control,
The location and the room
No hotel staff on site most of the time, having to go a quarter of a mile up the road to check in!
Location, comfort, breakfast, on site parking
Wifi was weak.
The location was a short bus ride away from the city centre with shops and two good pubs nearby. The room was clean and the free wifi very useful. The room faced the rear garden and was sufficiently spacious. The choice at breakfast was limited but adequate, although some fruit would have been a welcome addition. The breakfast staff were cheerful.
The hotel decor did look rather tired and shabby. The bathroom was rather small and cramped.
The location was very close to the city. Very comfortable and the breakfast was good
We didn't like the appearance of the outside when we first arrived we thought it looked a bit run down.
Location was good walking distance to city centre
This gives the impression it's an 'over flow' for another hotel. Reception closed very shortly after I arrived staff were very casual and lacked professionalism
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and breakfast was great.
The WiFi was very poor. We could not open anything. The TV could have been better placed to reduce the neck strain.
Friendly staff and hearty breakfast good location for walking along the river
Decor was very tired looking
