Owners were lovely, friendly people and very welcoming and helpful. The room was gorgeous, clean and decorated to a very high standard. Thank you! We will be back and will be telling everyone to come and stay with you!

Breakfast was outstanding, freshly cooked full English was delicious! Phil the owner was very helpful, even phoned my mobile to let me know my car lights were left on! Room cosy, very comfortable bed. Great shower and bathroom.

A good 15-20 mins walk to the centre of town, which is ok on a sunny day, but not great if it's raining. Tv had few working channels and is quite small for the room. Not much to complain about, really!

Great welcome from Phil and Emma who go out of their way to be very accommodating. Their variety of offerings for breakfast are top quality and amongst the best I have been offered in the UK. The room was very comfortable. An ideal choice that we would use again.

The host was very helpful and the breakfasts were well above the average in quality. Nice touches in the house, however anyone with disabilities might find the stairs a challenge.

Would have preferred a shower to the clawfoot bath in our room, but we booked late.

The owners Phil and Emma are really kind and do anything to help you out. The house is reall stylish and comfortable. The same goes for the rooms, a little bit small but really comfortable and nice to be in. Breakfast is great, everything is cooked fresh to order and there's lots to choose from. My stay was really short, but if I am back in York I will be staying there again. It was a shame my stay was so short. I would recoomend staying to anybody who is visiting York.

We had a really lovely stay here. We had room 4 with a lovely roll top bath in the room. It was quiet, cozy and shabby chic. Phil was very welcoming giving us a map and marking out everywhere we wanted to see, very hospitable. Breakfast was amazing and far superior to that of some hotels we have stayed in. Well worthy of the 4 star rating. It was a nice 10-15 min walk into the city which is really lovely and quaint. We will definitely be coming back to Ashley Guest house, it's a beautiful house in a great location.

It was perfect for an overnight stay.

Philip was a wonderful host who was eay to build a good relationship with, cooked an amazing breakfast and gave good advice on where to go in York. The attic room was small but nicely designed, cosy, relaxing and had a great shower. The guest house is close enough to walk to the city centre and there are good amenities near by.

I stayed at Ashley house for three nights with my daughter and friends, Staff were freindly and helpful, breakfast was great. Nice 10 min walk along the walls into york. Rooms lovely and clean with everything you need. Thanks to Phil the owner we had a very enjoyable stay.
