The location was excellent, easy walk into York City which is essential as car parking in York is very expensive. The breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. Our bedroom was in the attic, was hot, but when we asked for a fan, one was presented the next day. The bedroom did not have an ensuite, only a free standing bath in the room, but a private toilet and hand basin next door. This was manageable but a full sized sink in the bedroom would have been nice. |

The room was very well cared for and comfortable, it had tea and coffee facilities, and the staff were friendly and made us very welcome. Maybe, the parking. I was worried that I may not find a space and had to park away from the hotel. |

Our host made us feel very welcome and he helped us pick a restaurant for the evening. The breakfast was lovely! The room was very clean and beautifully decorated. |

Was very cleaning, the staff where very helpful and polite. If we decide to go York again we would book to stop at the Ashley Guest House again. |

My husband and I went to the U.K. for a long-awaited trip. While visiting York we stayed at Ashley House and had a wonderful time. Our room was clean and nicely decorated and the included breakfast was delicious and generous. Additionally, the location was fantastic- just a five or so minute stroll to the city core. |

Very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable with better than usual refreshments available. breakfast was good. We feel confident in recommending this guest house to others. Genuine 10 mins walk from the citycentre |

Tasteful decoration. Hospitality (whole jar of cookies). Friendly owner. Nothing in particular, the room was a bit crowded for a double room. |

Stayed in Room 5 (Attic), which was small but adequate for our stay. Good choices for breakfast, great location - really nice walk into City through park and along river. Would definitely stay here again. Nowhere to hang clothes, so anyone staying for longer than a couple of days may find this a problem. Could have used a fan at night, as the room was quite warm. |
