Ashmount Country HouseMytholmes Lane, BD22 8EZ Haworth (Show map) Wonderful, Score from 53 reviews“Friendly staff, nice location. Great rooms...especially the ones with hot tubs!! ”
Michael,
York
Located below the wild moors of Wuthering Heights, this guest house is close to the top of the cobbled center of Haworth, and a short 3-minute walk from Brontë Parsonage. Haworth, in the heart of Brontë country, is a truly inspiring place to visit. Ashmount Country House is the former home of Haworths' Dr. Amos Ingham, physician to Charlotte and Patric Brontë. Stay in luxury rooms with private bathrooms, four-poster beds, double whirlpool baths and private hot tubs. There is also a luxury suite. Hotel Rooms: 11

The friendliness of the staff and their trusting nature regarding the mini bar in the guests' sitting room. Lovely room with a lot of thought put into little things.

The location and the setting of the Hotel is excellent and the staff are very friendly and accommodating however the overall experience was slightly disappointing compared to the expectation from the pictures and comments on the website! The accommodation at £200 per night is not cheap therefore more attention to detail is necessary to justify the cost; for example the reproduction clock in the bedroom didn't work (just needed batteries) and there was mould evident around the bedroom window. The bathroom needed some attention by way of sticking back the h & c on the bathtaps and painting the pipes under the sink! The outside area where the hot tub was situated was shabby and looked neglected with parts of the wall rendering broken / missing. Only small things I know but overall it's this attention to detail that needs to be addressed to be able to command the top price tag without criticism. Late check-in and early check-out! No Sunday morning lie in bed!! Also, given that the Hotel boasts it's location and historical connections to the Brontes you would think that the owner would be aware that the Bronte Parsonage was closed throughout all of January for renovations! We were asked by Ray (the owner?) where we planned to visit on the Sunday morning of our stay and we said the Parsonage but when we got there we found it closed! I just think these are the kind of things that owners should know about :-)

Romm facilities (ie Hot tub and Spa) were excellent. Evening meal the food was very good , however the service was slow Likewise at Breakfast service was poor. At to complain about the bedding - the pillow cases at makeup on and the sheets had not been changed. Staff were aplogetic and we were offerred a discount. I would say that the Hotel seems to be run by young people with no evidence any management.

Very welcoming and comfortable, liked the honesty bar in the sitting room, it was very nicely decorated in every room and the breakfast was very good. We had already booked our evening meal out but next time we stay we will try their food as it smelt good and the dining room was beautifully decorated. The owner was very helpful and encouraged us to relax and look around at all the rooms that had the doors open, all the ones we looked at had four poster beds and were well furnished. We were given a choice of rooms as we stayed on a Sunday evening. We would go back and stay there again. The shower was broken and some tiles on the bath room floor

I stayed in the Sanctury Spa room after booking the hotel for my boyfriends birthday. The welcome was lovely, the staff were extremely helpful. The room was also very nice - the hot tub outside was a particularly nice touch! Especially in the snow! Ate in the restaurant in the evening which was gorgeous, quite expensive but worth it for the quality of the food and the really nice atmosphere. All in all had a lovely time and would definitely go back. Very creaky bed!

Historical connection with the Bronte sisters is well presented with items displayed in the house. Comfortable bed and renovated rooms. Accommodation was actually across the road in another building which we didn't know when we booked, and WiFi didnt work, which was a big reason for choosing the Ashmount. Curious not being able to have dinner in the house...was "fully booked" both nights even though most tables were empty both nights. Two great places to eat which were a couple of hundred yards further up the road were Embers and Weavers. Recommend them.

This was our third visit to Ashmount County House and it is the most perfect place for a relaxing break, perfect setting great views from the bedroom of the garden and country side, We stayed in the Luxury Four- Poster Ingham's Room and our every need was catered for. We dined here in the evening and the whole experience was second to none. All the staff were very helpful and it was a pleasure to be there. We have stayed in many hotels in the surrounding area including Harrogate and York and have had a wonderful time but we always return to this special place and would recommend it to everyone who wants that relaxing time.

Ashmount Country House is set in a beautiful location right in the heart of Bronte country. We stayed for my partner's 30th Birthday and couldn't have picked a more perfect place to chill out and relax. the hot tub was fantastic and the staff were very welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we stepped inside.

It was just wonderful to have our own hot tub and private outside area! The village is lovely too, and countryside scenery was beautiful, as were the hotel gardens. Also the food in the hotel was amazing and the sherry on arrival was particularly good. I didn't particularly like the decor of the room, it wasn't to my taste, but it was still comfortable and a very nice room to spend time in.

“Classed as a guest house but the quality and cleanliness plus facilities more like a hotel. Everything from the outside of the property to the inside of the bathroom oozed quality. Could not fault the friendliness and helpfullness of the staff, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was outstanding, if they did not have what you wanted on the menu they wouild try there best to get it for you. One of the best weekends we have taken and would certainly recommend this property. ” Anne, Sunderland |
