The location was great, staff were helpful and accomodating Upon arrival late at night with a five month old we found that we a room with more furniture than floor space and no room to put up the cot that had been placed in the room, with no sheets.... After moving furniture on to the single bed we managed to make space for the cot. We then found a wrap that we had that fit the cot base so we could put our little girl to bed. Not perfect... In the morning we felt like we should put all back as it was.

Kind people. Large and confortable room. Clean bathroom. Good wifi. Near a bus stop. It's not near the centre but the bus stop is near and you can reach the centre easily.

On site parking for about 3 cars.. Room itself was clean but the toilet and shower were more or less built into a cupboard in the room. Door to toilet had a broken lock, the shower tray didn't meet the wall with a gap of about an inch, it smelt very damp and there was an earwig running round the tray! Clean towels were offered on day two but no one came and made the bed. Breakfast was very early and not worth getting up for as it consisted of tea, orange juice and toast. The one time we went for breakfast the butter was liquid as it had been left out so long so we didn't bother the next day! Guest house was a very long walk from the city - a good 40 minutes not the 20 we were expecting from the website. All in all very disappointed.

Local to city centre. Average price. Off road parking on site. Overall very basic, breakfast poor, cleanliness ok, rooms in desperate need of updating. General condition of rooms were below my usual standard, wear and tear poor. Shower cubicle inadequate and in desperate need of repair. Good location near to city centre with on site parking.

We appretiated the relaxed atmosphere of the Ashtrees. The rooms were nice and warm, just a little noisy as it is situated on a roundabout buut that didn't bother us too much. The beds were not very comfy. Mine was a larger mattress than the base so if I went too far to the edge I fell out of bed.

Good location, about 10 minutes by bus from Cambridge rail station. After that I had to go by feet about 200m, but probably, there will be better connection. As I arrived late, I got access code for the front door and my room was ready with the key in a lock, just prepared for me. And as I leaved very early, I did not meet any personal there. Room and the bathroom were clean. It is about 20 minutes by train to Stansted airport from Cambridge, and as I leaved early, I appreciate location.

The hostess was friendly and was trying to run a clean and efficient guest house. Initially it was a little difficult to find the b&b, but once I located it near a roundabout on Perne Rd it was easy enough to get into the car park behind the house. Parking in the rear was adequate for 3 or 4 cars, which was sufficient at the time I was there.

Hostess was pretty and polite but did not speak much english. Room 5 floor warped severely, sink sloped so nothing stays on it or the shelf above it. THe bed is tilted due to the floor and is not that great anyway. One window did not have a handle to close it so it remained open the whole time. Building is run down and needs work. Breakfast was toast and a glass of juice and coffee. Room/bedding scented strongly. No top sheet. Room was serviced on second morning but not first. Bed too large for room, no chair in room. Tv on wall in front of bed does not tilt so you have to sit up proper to see the image not blurred.

It's very nice peace and quiet place. Ashtrees Guest House suits the people who don't like big and fussy hotels. All the rooms are clean and have a home environment. The host is very cheerful and friendly girl.

A good continental breakfast is included in the price. The only drawback would be the location - it is quite a way from the centre of Cambridge. However there is a bus route nearby and the buses are quite frequent.

The best thing about Ashtees House was Michelle the Manager, she was very welcoming. I was very dissapointed with Ashtrees Guest House. I booked at least 6 weeks in advance for an overnite stay with my husband and booked for either a twin or double room. When we arrived we were put in seperate rooms accross the corridor from each other. Michelle (the Manager) was very appologetic and said she would speak to her manager, but as the hotel was full it was our tough luck and it was seperate rooms or nothing although we were given a 5.00 discount. As we were being collected by a taxi from the hotel for a night out at the races we weren't able to find another hotel at short notice. The breakfast was served very nicely, again by Michelle, but the cornflakes were not fresh and turned to mush. All in all I would not recomend this hotel, as apart from the fact we didnt get what we paid for, it also looks very tired. The rugs are worn and the paint work is old and sticky and it also smelt damp. I really can't see how this was awarded 3 stars (this was in 1989 and 2005, according to the certificates on the wall)

I was welcomed by a pleasant, helpful young lady. Unfortunately I arrived late afternoon and didn't have much time to explore. I had to leave after breakfast the following day to reach my destination.
