Clean good bed - good breakfast Cost - tax put on top of original price - presumably I agreed to this but I would say only worth half that price - bed only good part of room!

Small but cosy,,,had everthing we required...worrried we would have to share toilet and shower facilities,,pleasant surprise that we had these facilities in our room.. Big dislike that we had 2 single beds pushed together even though there was a double head frame nailed to the wall....uncomfortable for a couple....Breakfast was limited but i do appreciate that would take time to prepare..

No cover sheet in bed to change for each customer. No return email from 5 emails. Too far away from the Train station(10 mins bus), and far away from Cambridge . No booking record from booking.com.. Reception was not reachable all the time . Bad smell in the room.

The room was spacious, comfortable, clean and very cute. Wifi worked in the rooms as well. There was not much variety at the breakfast, but I really liked the environment (breakfast room, cutlery etc.). The staff was friendly and helpful. It was not particularly close to the center (~45 min walk). There is bus stop close though.

Waitress advised that cooked breakfast not included in price, but brought it anyway. (Booking confirmation included breakfast). Poky, small room, described as "Double en suite" (which it was technically), shower needing repair, continuous noise from adjoining lavatory on one side and bathroom on the other from 0530, being told that breakfast finishes at 0830.

Attention per Email from the personal First when I arrived, was asked me to call them as soon as I got to UK, because I was going to arrive late than 11PM. Unfortunately by phone wasn't possible, and when I got then the personal hang up the phone saying "...you will enter here anyhow!" - in a rude way. Afterwards, pushing the door bell for many times and calling, she came down in a very stress way, saying that I couldn't arrive at that time and so on. Nevertheless wasn't what was said by email. During the time that I was there, everytime that I want to ask something, was really rude and no attention at all! Definitelly was a shock for me, because during the booking process was everything very nice and easy. By the way, the price relation is not that cheap...

Staff was very kind and friendly. You should have more kinds of tea - like herbal or green tea - at the breakfast menu. There was only black tea and black coffee. I prefer herbal tea in the morning. The same refers to the selection that you offer in the rooms (only soluble coffee and black tea). Try to have more variety.

The staff was friendly. As I was traveling on a budget I didn't have terribly high standards, though there were a number of problems that I had with the Ashtrees Guest House. To begin, upon arrival, I was shown to my room, handed a can of air freshener and told that the last person had been smoking. Indeed, the room stunk of smoke and it was too cold to open the windows, which was unpleasant. The room itself was a bit tired, tattered paint and not well-kept; it also wasn't cleaned during the day which was a bit odd. While I didn't mind that the choices for breakfast were tea or coffee and corn flakes of muesli, one would think the staff could get the order right. I was either given coffee when I requested tea or corn flakes when I requested muesli which, while not the end of the world was a bit annoying given the lack of variety on the menu. The location was a couple of miles from the town centre, which I didn't mind although considering the low quality of the accommodation and the distance, one would expect a lower price. I also find it odd that they don't accept cards there without a charge, but I just paid cash. In short, this wasn't the worst place in the world to stay, it was too expensive for what it actually was and I would not stay there again.
