Booked for three beds, only 2 available, staff initially had a tough attitude but when pushed gave us a 2nd room
Lack of cookware/microwave dishes. Lack of dishcloth, soap, dishtowel. Key went out of the slot, on a hot day the frig being turned off due to no power meant that we came back to curdled milk. 2 keys must be given to the occupants of the apartments with a kitchen so that the power can stay on. There was a noisy airconditioner outside - couldn't tell where it was exactly but a bit sleep disturbing
Room size too small Bathroom facilities very small Some of the staff need people skills
Location Use kitchen area to store luggage Had fridge
Over priced Very small rooms No internet in rooms Had to pay internet in lobby Can smell cooking coming from other rooms. No area to store luggage
I just loved the place
Stayed here many times. Disappointed this time that our booking was not honoured. Apparently, room allocation is made on the week of arrival and not at the time the booking is accepted. Also, bearing in mind that in January, eight months ago, when the booking was made, full payment was taken.
Booked a double apartment in Jan 14. On arrival was given for one night something which bore no resemblance to our booking - just one tiny room. The following four nights we were given a triple apartment! Unnecessary excessive daily charge for wifi.
noisy staff / cleaners in alley way & corridor very early in morning
Clean and well positioned.
The doors to all the rooms could not be left opened to create a friendly relaxed environment. With such small rooms it felt caustrophobic with all doors closed.
Staff is friendly and helpful. The location is excellent. The kitchen area and bathroom are spacious, nice and new.
In an apartment for 4, only 3 got a proper bed with proper sheets and duvets. One person to sleep on old and uncomfortable sofabed. Kitchen utilities so-so clean upon arrival.
The location is the biggest asset of the property. Thr staff is quite helpful.
They need to take a bit mkre care of their furniture.
House keeping will get into your room despite the do not disturb sign is on
Paid internet, poor internet connection
Great location, nice surroundings next to Hyde Park, close to restaurants and bars and walking distance to the center (Oxford street etc.) Room was very small but for short stay comfortable and clean + equipped with kitchen tools for cooking.
We liked everything.
Only the location, which is very close to Paddington Station
For the price, Beware, Studio Rooms are nothing like they appear on the web site! No room to put your suitcase, having two , we had to put one on the sink, and another under the very small bench table. The room is very 'patched' up, and you have to walk sideways around the bed. Duvet cover, just to bed edge, did not amply cover a couple.
we used to love this place and made several visits here. But after our last visit on the 7 october 2014 on wards, when we saw with our own eyes the many number of arguments between new tenants who have confirmed booking with the staff over the overbooking of the place by the management. We understand under the new management they are commercially very rude and stingy. Please expect your confirmed booking being rejected by them and instead they will place you in other nearby hotel of lower value and rating, also owned by them over a very minute reason. I will never stay here ever again.
housekeepers woke me up one hour before check-out
Ideal location for a concert at the Albert Hall, a very short taxi ride away.
The apartment had balcony but for H&S reasons we had no access to it.
The windows needed insulation from noise and rain water. The heating system should not be turned off my the management during the day.
After making a reservation for 2 room apartment for the family, we were told the day before our arrival that it was overbooked, and were relocated to two very small rooms. Theses rooms were only heated after 20h, and the window would not close properly. The shower's hot water was barely warm, and sometimes reduced to a trickle.
Really good breakfast Clean Location (near Paddington station) The space of the appartment (it was really big)
There was no heating at all during the night (It was November with 2 C temperature).
The apartments were well situated and very clean. Spacious and comfortable.
Unfortunately the heating did not appear to be working to full capacity. Also blinds in the bedroom were not working and this did allow light in during the night.
Location was good, right next to paddington, next to a few alright restaurants
Here's where the fun starts. First of all, heating. Ok, so we're in the uk and people might endure cold in a easier way. Hell, some might even enjoy it. But for the sake of your health, never stay at Aspen during cold weather periods. You will get an hour heating every 3-4 odd hours. When I say heating, I actually mean a fuzzy warm radiator that will never do the job proper. Yeah, forgot, let's add the shoddy, single-glazed windows that you might as well not have. And to make matters even worse, the reception staff put a big nice grin on their faces when asked to turn the heating up. Through their reply they effectively called us stupid and that nothing will be done to remedy the issue. At least offer me a goddamn thicker duvet! So much money for so little in return. Aspen Apartments? More like Icespen Apartments!!!!
