We had the room with the deck overlooking the countryside and it was spectacular. Bobby and carol were lovely people and we enjoyed our conversations with them. The decor was beautiful and the variety of breakfast choices was splendid.

Perched on a quiet hilltop outside Oban with beautiful pastoral views is the Aspen Lodge. The B&B is one of the finest we have ever stayed at. The guest rooms are large, well appointed, and spotless. Breakfast was customized to the desires of the guests by offering a menu. Carol went out of her way to make our stay welcoming and pleasant. She allowed us an early check-in when she learned one of us was a bit ill and packed us breakfast when we needed to be out early to catch the ferry to Mull. If our travels ever take us back to Oban, we will definitely try to come back.

First and foremost, Carol and Bobby were truly wonderful hosts who went out of their way to accommodate us! Advising Carol that we planned to take the ferry over to the Inner Hebrides Islands, she provided us with information regarding a very convenient and economical car park to leave our car rental in while we visited the islands. In addition, she served us a full early breakfast in order to accommodate our early morning ferry departure time! The fresh fruit served at breakfast along with the wide assortment of breakfast options was delicious! Although the daily rain prevented us from utilizing the room patio overlooking scenic views of the surrounding area, we were able to appreciate from inside our spacious and well appointed room.

Aspen Lodge exceeded our expectations. It is a small lodge with three rooms of impeccable quality. Far enough away from the city so that it is quiet and tranquil yet close enough to catch the ferry or get a nice dinner. Tastefully decorated with attention to every last detail. Carol and Bobby were excellent hosts going above and beyond to please! Carol's attention to every last detail and willingness to help went far beyond the service we received any place else on our one month adventure through Scotland. We stayed at both B&B's and hotels and the quality of service provided at Aspen was well above the rest! Sitting at breakfast chatting with Carol and Bobby was more like being at a friend's home rather than at a rental. Comfort level was extraordinarily high; everything was just perfect! I can't say enough about this warm and comfortable inn; we will definitely go back if ever in Oban again.

Carol and Bobby were delightful. The reviews set our expectations high and these hosts and property did not disappoint. In fact, our expectations were exceeded. The suite was spotless, comfortable and the view was incredible. Carol made sure EVERY detail was taken care of from the bespoke chocolates, to bottled water, a fan (thank you!) and a hair dryer and straightener (which helped on a rainy day). The food was fabulous and served on HOT plates. And Carol had tons of local advice. Book at least one more day than your expected and you won’t be disappointed. We will be back and will definitely stay longer. [This is the only BnB where I cried when I left.]

DELIGHTFUL. Most comfortable room we stayed in on our whole trip (we stayed 7 different places)—luxurious bed, and beautifully furnished. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and we loved the honesty bar with a lovely selection of single malts and other refreshments—it felt very homey. Carol was super friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome, and even helped us solve a laundry crisis! Also the view from the patio is to die for. Highly recommend!

Perched at the top of a hill overlooking mountains, farms, and valleys, Aspen Lodge is breathtaking. Carol was a warm and easy host, even offering to do an expert whiskey tasting for us since we had not had time to do one yet. Breakfasts were a delight, and though the weather prevented us from taking our puffin tour to Staffa, carol was able to suggest alternative sights which we enjoyed. We will definitely stay at Aspen Lodge when we come back to the area.
