Spacious room with a fantastic flat screen TV, tea and coffee facilities with biscuits, great big bathroom with towel warmer and super shower, all at a great price. Highly recommended!
The staff at the Astala were very welcoming and helpful, it gave a lovely feel to the accommodation. The Guest house is in a great location, proabably quieter than other hotels in this area as it faces the lovely harbour and not on a main road, so all good. We had a front facing room (nos 4) which had wonderful views across the harbour. Fantastic breakfast, free WIFI, Small Bar and seating area, couldnt ask for more. Will definately return when back in Bangor.
Bed a bit bouncy for us but guess that is a personal choice more than anything. Pillows were a little thin! (But did notice on check out that new ones were being delievered so looks like they are already dealing with that!)
Very responsive staff, cozy atmosphere
everything was very well
My third visit And again in a Room at the Front, with a view over the Marina. Helpful, Friendly staff. Rooms very Comfortable. (I think all the Rooms are very Comfortable but the best ones are at the front with the view).
Breakfast is now extra! Whereas previously it was included in the Room Rate. (A nice breakfast though!).
Building - Nice charming building, modern but not soulless Staff - everyone we met was lovely and friendly Room - Bright and airy View - requested view of the Marina and got one! TV - large and moved to accomodate bed and couch viewing Bed - comfy but small double Bathroom - large tub and spacious room
Cold - The room was FREEZING as the heating was broken and the heater was basically a 600w lamp that lit up the whole room! No blanket - there was a faux blanket at the end of the bed that was just a 'runner' which didn't help the cold. Noisy bathroom - the pump made a huge roaring sound whenever you flushed the toilet or used the water
Clean as a whistle, spotless. Friendly staff, lovely room and great breakfast.
good value, amazing location
All round great experience xxx
All The Hotel Staff Were Very Friendly. We Got a Very Warm Welcome From The Hotel Manager. There Was a Great Choice Of Breakfast. A Large Walk In Shower. Lift.
Having to get up. The Twin Room We Had Only Had a View Of a Brick Wall.
Staff were polite & friendly. Room a nice size. Lift useful. Breakfast nice. Easy to park at front of hotel.
Room a bit hot
Very helpful staff..breakfast superb
Was a bit runned down.
quiet and comfortable
Beautiful room, lovely and clean, with tea/coffee, biscuits, sweets, shower gel all provided and a lovely hearty breakfast. No corners were cut in this hotel, it's a very high standard. With a very friendly and helpful owner.
We had some "educational" noises coming from the room next door very early in the morning. I guess the walls are thin. Not the hotel's fault but it meant we left very tired and a bit uncomfortable!
Very relaxed, clean & very homely And modern. Great Irish breakfast, and friendly staff
Shortness of extra pillows,
Great location, friendly staff, good value for money.
Room was a little small but comfortable clean and had lots of facilities
too men steps to enter dark interior sour milk in room, didnot stay as aboveput me off
Views from lounge, proximity to coast
Uncomfortable bed, thin pillows, cramped room, average breakfast, hair on bathroom floor
Lovely view of the harbour, front rooms are very generous. We were attending a wedding and the Astala allowed us to stay in our room after check out to get ready and go straight to the wedding, was a life saver!
Good location. Spacious room.
Great location staff and food and easy parking
Location within walkable distance to town and beautiful view of the marina. Breakfast staff were open and friendly!
Rachelle was very rude and nonwelcoming; There was no soap, shampoo, or other amenities. We did not know that this was a B&B
The bed was very comfortable, the staff was pleasant and the breakfast was substantial. The location is perfect.
We had room # 1 which must be above the kitchen or furnace as it was way too hot to sleep.
Location, decor, cleanliness, welcome, nothing too much trouble
