Astley Bank Hotel  

Apart from how it looks and it surrounding gardens very little.

Upon arriving we were made to wait for almost 15 mins whilst two members of staff who observed us enter failed to acknowledge us and continued about thier day. We were made to feel very uncomfortable from this point onwards, the room was very small and had a smell that was not pleasant, bathroom had not been cleaned properly. On leaving we clearly saw the difference in how we were mistreated, the woman at the reception smiled and pleasantly asked other guest how their stay was unlike us who were asked to simply to pay the bill. Never have i have been treated with such disregard or made to feel my ethnicity would be an issue to such an extent my partner refused to have breakfast downstairs so instead we ordered this into our room; this was also an issue as they provided cuttlery for one when clearly the order was for two and when we called to mention this nothin was done. Very dissappointing stay.

the setting and location was lovely and we liked the blend of traditional modern decor

we had baby with us so there was a lot of baby stuff to carry to keep her occupied and i did 3 trips to car without any offer of help to take things to room

Professional and kind staff. Restaurant food quality superb and delicious. Many fish and veg options. Also willing to customize for dietary restrictions.

Beds fairly comfortable. Decor could use some updating and hairdryer in bathroom would be helpful for travellers on the go.

Lovely, spacious 4 poster bedroom with Victorian features. The hotel was beautifully furnished and set in well kept grounds/gardens. The food was excellent and the serving staff very attentive. We were able to invite friends and family to join us for evening meals and drinks in the lovely dining room and bar.

The bedroom, though beautiful, was cold and we never managed to get a hot shower.

Beautiful gardens, nice setting and location is good. Large free car Park, free WiFi.

Small Pokey room. No Elevator so had to carry bags up 2 floors. Hotel is catering for Business Customers and the peace and quiet of the nice English Breakfasts are ruined by large noisy Business Breakfast Meetings held simultaneously in same room.

Our best description for the Astely Bank Hotel would be restrained gentility. The public rooms are lovely and the peaceful gardens and grounds beautifully maintained. Excellent cooked breakfast.

Tres bonne cuisine sachant que c'est l'Angleterre.... Le rapport qualité pris est excellent comparé a ce qu'il se fait en Angleterre. A noter que la connexion internet en chambre est gratuite mais aleatoire.

Jeg opplevde at alle ansatte var opptatt av at jeg skulle få et best mulig opphold. Forholdet mellom pris og hotel-standard var svært bra.

I love the grounds and the friendly staff. The building had character. I hope to come back and stay longer and enjoy the lovely gardens much more.

It was disconcerting to find a female guest come down to breakfast in her pajama bottoms!! Really should have a stricter dress code.
