Comfort, relaxed and up to date decor downstairs. Excellent food, friendly staff.

Room rather cramped, shower pressure and controls poor.

The setting, the grounds, the building and the welcoming nature and helpfulness of the staff. We only had the breakfast but we were a party of 11 family members but the food was excellent and nothing was too much trouble.

Didn't realise previous occupant had left the tv setting to come on at 6am - on a Sunday morning after only getting in at 2am it was a bit of a shock!!

The room and luxury bathroom. The food was excellent real homemade cooking but very well presented.

We stayed here to attend a family funeral, everyone was very welcoming.We were given an upgrade and had a very pleasant quiet room which was much appreciated.

Using postcode in the satnav will take you to the wrong address.

Sat Nav directions from the post code takes you up a cul-de-sac and then someone's drive, I would recommend when booking that the directions state second turning after the garage and then take an immediate left if you don't you end up on a housing estate.

Lovely interiors which were of a very high standard. The room was extremely comfortable, very clean and of a good size with everything we needed. The highlight of our stay was the warm and friendly attitude of the staff and the excellent meals in the restaurant.

The staff were lovely. We stayed in an exec double which was superb value for money and v clean. We stayed as we were going to Ewood Park for the football and it was a v short bus ride away but walkable. The hotel's restaurant had superb service and the food was gorgeous.

Unfortunately there were some v unruley guests staying who were swearing and shouting when they arrived back at 4am. They had a do not disturb sign on their door and with great joy the hotel manager went and banged on their door at 9am, following client complaints, to make them check out. The hotel does not tolerate fools gladly which was a very welcome thing to know for future bookings we will make at this hotel. Apart from these fools, I cannot fault the hotel.

The building and grounds are lovely, the staff friendly, the room with jacuzzi bath extremely comfortable. There is free wi-fi in the room which was very useful

The kitchen extractor fan was beneath our window and was a bit noisy - but it is turned off at night so it didn't disturb our sleep.

A pleasant place to stay. Would recommend it.

I found astley bank was a beautiful place very impressive on first view the night time staff was very friendly but the morning staff was very rude left a lot to be desired

The hotel was very welcoming and the food very good.

Advise guests staying on the top floor that there is no lift before they arrive. Our room had no full length mirror which for a hotel of this standard is an omission.

The staff were very friendly, and our rooms were available early for us to use in order to get ready to attend the wedding whose reception was being held there on the first day of our stay which was a great help to us.

Beautiful house, well decorated. Staff generally friendly. Lovely gardens. Quiet.

Bed too narrow. I needed an extra pillow or thicker pillows, due to neck vertibra problems. My wife also thought the pillow was far too thin. Bar prices far too expensive.

Very friendly, helpful staff. Hotel in very pleasant surroundings for what is a "town" location on the outskirts of Darwen. Building has plenty of character unlike some of the modern "septic" hotels around. All in all very pleasant.

A country feel yet close to the north Lancashire towns and motorway lnks. Close enough to the M6 for a stop over enroute to north of country.

I found the cooked breakfast wasnt very big..it was fine for me but I wouldnt say it would be substantial enough for a man .
