Aston Hotel

The breakfast took an hour to arrive and was stone cold and there was a complete lack of information as to why the breakfast was taking so long when there were only a handful of ;people who had ordered breakfast

They don't have any officer on duty at 5 am so ihad to leave the key room.

cheap option close to the train station to get into Birmingham New Street

We had a family room (2 double beds and 1 single) it was in a separate building, the door had glass pains and the windows only had blinds which meant the massive security light just outside of the building shone straight through. There was no cleaning service, we had to ask at the bar for more toilet roll. The mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable. We didn't receive any information at check in about the usual, for example check out times but most importantly, we didn't get told about which door to use to come in at night time when the bar was closed, we got locked out on the first night and had to bang on the pub door, luckily the staff were still there cleaning down, they then informed us we were to use the gate at this time which conveniently turned out to be locked!

The staff are very warm and friendly. The staff treated us like family and provided great service and care to us.

Aston Hotel is still undergoing some minor touch up to their rooms, there are some pungent smell. Other than the above mentioned, all are well!

The location was good as we were visiting Villa Park for a work party. The building looked to be quite big and I would have loved to have a proper look around. The Owners, a man and a woman were very nice and helpful.. Their young daughter worked as a waitress. The room was a decent size and away from the main building, so we had our own key and could come and go as we pleased. Breakfast was worth the money we paid although a little noisy. This Hotel has great potential once its refurb is completed

The rooms decorating wasn't very good, mainly the cutting in, also the grouting in the shower :( The main building was undergoing a major refurbishment a lot of it was closed off. (I would actually go back and see it once it is completed) The car park was a little hard to find and also doubled up as a car wash.. Which isn't a bad thing.. Apart from when we got there it was dark and very icy :( Last was the building work going on while we were having breakfast.. My wife and I had a little too much to drink the night before and we were feeling a little tender the morning after lol again I would go back once all work is completed :)

Hotel was undergoing an extensive refurbishment. Whole building was like a building site. The room we were allocated was in a small block of rooms at the back of the hotel, across the car park, which also doubled as a hand car wash business! It was basic to say the least. We had booked a triple room and it had a double bed and a single. The hotel details on your website stated there were tea and coffee making facitilites and a tv in the room, there was none of these available. Your site also stated that breakfast was available at £4.95 a head, this was not possible as the main hotel had no working kitchen! There was no heating in the room, at least none that was working resulting in us having to sleep in our clothes! The man who allocted our room, once we had located him in the main building, after risking injury negotiating our way through the masses of scaffolding and rubble was quite friendly and helpful by advising us of a local pub we could get a drink and a taxi number to get a cab into the city centre. When I asked the man about the details on your website not mentioning anything about the refurbishment, he said it takes time to change information on the website. In the days of tecnology, I find this hard to believe. However, we persevered as we were only staying one night and wanted to be in this location to enable us to visit friends who lived nearby. I hope that once the refurbishment is complete The Aston Hotel will be habitable and of a reasonable standard that visitors might expect, we may book in the future, once the refurb is complete, to see the transformation!!!!!

The place was disgusting, the shower and sink had cigarette ash in, no curtains, the guy showing me showed me to an already occupied room!! Then one without a shower, then one that need clearing, full of rubbish, no drink facilities, the key to get in and out off the build supplied by them didn't fit the outside door, no means to get back in, luckily enough I had met someone earlier who I met again and they got me back in so I could get another key otherwise I would have paid for a room but would be unable to get back in to use!!!!!!!!!!!! No where to get breakfast!!!!!

Booked to stay at the Aston due to its location as we were only there for one night for a gig which was in a venue very close by.

On arrival it was as if we'd turned up at a building site. I was informed on that morning that there was decorating work going on and that we would be staying in a "deluxe" room. All of the ground floor was literally being gutted there was dust everywhere and the awful smell which you get when walls/ceilings have been taken down. This smell was also on the first floor where we were shown to our rooms. Although no work going on upstairs the shower in our room wasn't working at all and only cold water from the sink. One double bed and two singles which were put to good use to barricade ourselves in which we were so glad we did when around 4am we were woken by shouting and banging/kicking of the front door below our room. We discovered in the morning that the front door had been kicked in along with another guest room door. There was nobody around in the morning and we had been told to leave the key in the room when leaving. TV not working, no heating, no toilet paper either.

turned up to find everything locked up, no answer to phone calls. had to search for alternative at 9pm on a friday night

It was in an ideal location as it was only a short drive from Birmingham city centre. Good price for a family room.

Booking.com advised Breakfast was available but when I asked upon check- in I was told there wasn't an option of breakfast. There was a Tesco right across the road however so we ate there. The room was also absolutely freezing so was very difficult to get the kids to settle after arrival and the toilet leaked after being flushed so we had to put towels down. There was nobody available to give the keys back to when we were leaving as the pub was locked up. Having already advised them that I needed to be gone by 8:30am I then had to leave the keys outside which I felt very uncomfortable about.

Friendly staff. Large, clean room. Wonderful building, with character. Easy access to City Centre, train station and bus stops.

Helt inntil Villa Park og perfekt når man skal på kamp. Veldig hyggelig og behjelpelig betjening. Lokal togstasjon rett ved, så enkelt å komme inn til sentrum. Store og fine rom.

Das Hotel wurde bei meinem Aufenthalt umgebaut. Ich wurde in einem Hofzimmer ohne Schrank untergebracht. Booking-com sollte über solche Verhältnisse im Vorfeld informieren.

Nähe zum Aston Villa Football Ground Betten waren ok

Zimmer katastrophal. Zwar sauber, aber offenbar frisch gestrichen - geruch! Wasserleitungen haben Geräusche gemacht. Keine frischen Handtücher in 2. Nacht. Ein Zimmer ohne angekündigten Wasserkocher. Duscharmaturen in gruseligem Zustand. Ausser Betten gab es nur eine E-Heizung im Zimmer. Nicht einmal ein Stuhl für die Klamotten. Natürlich kein TV. Nur die Betten... Warum wurde das Hotel bisher selten mal schlecht bewertet???? Verstehe das nicht. Hätte mir die Erfahrung gerne erspart.

Manque de propreté. Aucun service, pas même la possibilité de petit-déjeuner.

To check-in you have to find one particular woman who works behind the bar. I had to wonder around asking all the bartenders and glass collectors where she was. Check out was a similar process but as it was early morning she was much easier to find.

We were put in a chalet in the car park with two double beds and a single. Good size room. Hotel right next to aston villa stadium . Aston the place is abit of a shit hole but taxi to town centre cost £7. Good for lads going on a night out.

Fire alarm went off at 9.30 pm caused by someone else in a chalet. Their was no one in the main hotel to turn it off so we had to put up with it until we left the next day which was at 2pm. Got no sleep. Tried covering it with towels which helped slightly but wasn't great.

1. The room was clean and nice receptionist. 2. There is a 24hours Tesco supermarket nearby.

1. Bulb in the room was gone. I requested to change for three times but eventually no one fixed it and no light in the room for whole night. 2. The water for shower was either extreme hot or extreme cold. Couldn't adjust to the proper temperature to take a shower. 3. TV was provided but couldn't watch anything on it.

The room was nice.

Hard to find the entrance and the staff...

Filthy carpets in all rooms. Heating did not work in many rooms. No prior notice of ongoing building work. Horrible location.

This place was disgusting dirty ,filthy carpets so badly stained and dirty it must have been a health hazard. No heating was turned on and it was very cold during the night.the room was overcome with the stench of damp. The decor was appalling with the walls in places badly stained with what I dont know,yet the bedding was clean so why not put the same effort into the other things but even the bedding smelled of damp. You can only describe this room as disgusting it needs to be closed to the public

It was very close to one of the attractions I was visiting.

No staff were on hand when we arrived. I had to phone a number for someone to come and open up despite us arriving before 22:00 when check-in officially closed.
