Travelled with 2 sons in 20s, had a3 bed room. good value and close to tube. Parking right outside for 10 pounds a day was great.....just make sure you phone ahead to ensure space. Breakfast was great too
The location & breakfast.
Wasn't given a key for our room, informed that cleaner had taken it home. Had small children so had to keep going back & forth for someone to let us in our room.
The stairs as our room was at the top floor
Big bedroom with nice beds. Well located.
Expensive. Breakfast (few options, terrible sausage and bacon, not good at all)
The staff was very helpful at all times even though they struggled to serve everyone breakfast. The hotel's location a big plus, with paddington and lancaster station very close by. The breakfast was basic but good.
We are very easy with b&b, we only need a bed to sleep and a clean, basic shower. However, the shower was so tiny you could reach both walls by opening your arms. Very unconfortable as we could not get dressed or even dry ourselves after showering. Also, it was not cleaned once during the 5 days we were there and the curtain looked like it was never changed. The room was also very small, there was no room for our 2 suitcases to be opened and one of us had to sit down so the other could move around in the room. Pillows were flat as if we didnt have any at all. The rooms were not soundproof and also, the smell of breakfast being fried in the kitchen was so strong it reached our rooms and we could smell it on our clothes all day. The breakfast was very basic but our expectations were low. Breakfast room was very small and hard to move around and once fresh coffee run out, they didnt make more, instead they put out instant coffee... All the above could have been tolerated and we would visit again but not with that shower room and uncleaningless.
The location was good and boss was so friendly
Thr bed was uncomfortable
The room was small with a small bathroom, the room and bathroom was clean and had a t.v in room. We was out most the day so we didn't mind the room was small. Breakfast was good and staff was friendly. Good if looking for a cheap place to stay.
The pillows were uncomfortable. And wardrobe was broke
Room was cold, heating came on at set times. Water was cold had to ring reception to turn it back on. Had to hold the kettle whilst boiling it because the cord wasn't long enough to reach a surface to place it on.
Basement room People on fire escape at 0500 talking. Noisy people in room above Having to go to sister hotel next door for breakfast. Hair dryer, safe , advertised but not in room.
Its clean, good value for money and good location
First night of our stay, the wifi couldnt connect and the receptionist didnt even bother to see what the problem is. The day after, another receptionist told me that allall customers complained about the wifi.. And the receptionist decided to not do anything about it. Also, we were situated in the 3rd floor and we had luggages and bags to carry... No help was offered.
Very close to city center.
Heating closes at 12:00 at night. It is cold in the morning. Personnel is rude and says Ask my manager for everything. Bathroom very very small. Only 1 m2.
Very near to the station
Location, new clean bathroom
Bed was very small (meant to be double), room was very small
Good location, clean room. We have booked Quadruple room, it was comfortable and wide. In hotel was possibility to leave luggage.
In continental breakfest was two slices of cheese and two toasts, it is impossible to eat, but english breakfest is ok. Very small bathroom.
Good value place to stay, nice walk into town or tube is 5 mins away. Clean and excellent hot shower. Of course it's not the Ritz, it's not £350 a night but £35 and that makes it excellent value for money!
The hotel was just what we needed for an overnight stay after an evening's entertainment completed by a walk down Oxford street to see the Christmas lights. Despite it's very central location it was quiet, though there was a small amount of noise from an adjoining bedroom. The breakfast and service was excellent and friendly.
The bed was a little uncomfortable and the room small, but the cost was low so we weren't expecting luxury.
Nice staff, rich breakfast, good location, clean
small room and even smaller bathroom
Breakfast was everything but healthy and gave only toast to a vegetarian. Not worth paying! Orange juice was given only a small glas per person. The smell in the room was disgusting
The location, that's all!!.
The hotel is run down and needs complete refurbishment. The door to our room kept jamming against the control for the radiator. There we're 2 wardrobes, one was being held up by the radiator, the other had nails sticking out. The ceiling was full of mould and was all cracked. Only a matter of time until it all comes down. Beds were hard. The tv in our room crackled when we turned it on so didn't touch it. The bathroom was like something you would get out of a cheap inside cabin on a cruise ship. Tried to get into the breakfast room, which was a complete joke. We didn't eat there for the 2 days that we were there. In my option this is a very poor hotel, and I will certainly not ever be returning to this hotel.
Clean central hotel with a good breakfast for what we paid I did not expect it to be as good as it was ,would definitely stay again value for money in London
Excellent location. Friendly staff. Good choice of breakfasts.
The Astoria is not a hotel as such. It is more an annex to the hotel two doors down. The stairs are more like a modified fire escape and are extremely narrow and steep. My wife and I are in our 70s and both felt that there should be some sort of warning about the stairs being almost impossible for elderly or disabled people as there was no lift nor help with our luggage. We were put on the third floor but on finding this floor too difficult to scale up to we complained and were put on the second floor.
Breakfast and service was excellent. It is a ten minute walk from Paddington Station so that is helpful. You can get a tour bus on the street nearby. There are some great fish and chips places within walking distance.
The 15 minute train from LHR is the Paddington Express and it is expensive so it would just be cheaper and faster to stay by the airport. The floor of the room was very dirty. It had not been vacuumed in a while. There is no hair dryer, iron, shampoo. It is very noisy under the street. They do not put mattress pads or covers on the mattress so you sleep with a sheet right on the bed. There was one with stains right outside our door.
Very central location, clean.
Room small but that is what you expect for a sharp price. But shower cubicle very very tight
Great staff, great location. Nice rooms.
A lot of stairs especially who's staying in the last floor rooms. the stairs were a bit complicated especially after walking all day.
Clean, functional, welcoming, warm, nice en-suite, Breakfast room very clean, nicely decorated, excellent access to tea / coffee/ cooked breakfast excellent, plenty of toast , nothing too much trouble
We came over from Astoria to breakfast room 2 doors away not a problem for us. Sometimes had to wait for a table
