A quiet hotel in a quiet street. Rooms were attractively decorated and comfortable, albeit small. Very small bedrooms and cramped breakfast area which doubles as reception. Steep stairs to the lower floor are quite a challenge with a suitcase - need to be young and fit to negotiate them. |

The location was very good. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. Some of the towels were old and did not smell fresh. There was only a shower, not a bath. The breakfast was very average. The staff were helpful but not particularly friendly. |

the hotel itself is ok - but we were kinda unhappy with the basement room and no escalators at all.... although the pictures look fine the hotel never deserves those 4 stars. |

Well positioned to 'do' London. Walking distance to Battersea Power station for events, Buckingham Palace and the London Eye for sight seeing, Belgravia for people watching and Victoria station for easy access elsewhere. Tiny breakfast area with sub standard food offering for a "4 Star" Hotel. |

the room was nice but cramped. Never got breakfast as there wasn't enough tables, too cramped. Staff not very accessible. We were stuck in a basement room and it was dingy and dark. The stairs were steep as we are getting on a bit in years. |

Location, excellent. Staff very helpful. Value for money. No lift to top floor. Room and bathroom smaller than expected. Perfectly comfortable, clean and convenient, but hard to see where the 4 stars come from! |

The hotel was well located near Victoria coach and train services. Elizabeth St interesting. Ebury Restaurant across road quite good value tho surly staff. All clean apart from the left luggage room. Bedroom very very small. Up 4 flights (at least!) and no lift - no offer of help to carry bags. No plug in sink. No proper dining room - cramped breakfast space. No fresh fruit at breakfast. No lounge. I left 2 items of clothing behind - I rang about them but after 3 days still no response. |

The rooms are tiny, as is the room where breakfast is served. It's difficult for two people to pass one another in both cases. Regarding the room, however, the space is nicely designed so that every amenity except a fridge is available in the room itself. (a fridge IS available in the hallway, btw) the hotel is very conveniently located. if you know what to expect, i think it is an adequate choice. |

The thing that we liked the most about our stay at the Astors Hotel, was the time of our departure. We arrived quite late in the evening. The room was not ready, the extra bed that had been reserved was not available and the car park that we had reserved in advance did not exist. While we were waiting for things to be organised another guest came and told us to escape right now, not to stay, that the hotel was really the worst one ever. The member of staff on duty took us to look at another room that was available for our 15 year old daughter instead of the extra bed. The room was full of unmade beds (rather like a dormitory), it smelt really bad and was full of dirty and wet laundry. Totally unacceptable. We were then taken to our room, my husband had to help locate and carry an extra bed to the room for my daugher, the member of staff was dripping sweat all over the bed linens and towels. The room was not clean, the mattress was so soft it was like a sponge and we spent the entire night trying not to roll into the hole in the middle. When we went upstairs in the morning we had to climb over a pan of eggs that were being cooked on the floor. The staff were unable to tell us how to pay London congestion charges. It was all in all a very expensive 4*(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) hotel. |

Near to every intrsting point to visit in London The last 2 nights I spent in this hotel were so noisy ! the reception did not interfere at any moment to ask the people who were the source of the noise to stop disturbing people when sleeping (2 nights with the same problem, the first night about 01:30 and the second night about 3:00 am> the noise and th knocking on my door for more than 30 mins each time). |

The staff were very friendly and efficient. The room was a good size, nicely decorated and well equipped. Unlike so many hotels it was not over-heated either. The location was perfect being just round the corner from Victoria Coach Station and close to the railway station and underground.. Breakfast, while perfectly adequate, would have been massively improved by some fresh orange juice, a jar of marmalade and some fresh fruit. |

Clean, comfortable and centrally located for convenience. Breakfast area far too small, not enough space or room to seat all guests at once. |
