So close to everything, awesome location, helpful staff, gorgeous rooms.
Excellent location Comfortable room - not huge but adequate Nice bathroom well stocked with toiletries Friendly and helpful staff
Slightly noisy from the tube running under the hotel
Reception area, bar, restaurants, , wellness centre, courtyard.i liked everything being close together in a comfortable setting, with staff available instantly.
Being guided to my room via an entire floor of plastic covered carpeted corridors due to the upgrading redecorating work going on.needs to be more general access for people with mobility issues ( especially stairs leading to wellness centre)
Located in Victoria the hotel is tucked away off the beaten track but with easy access to the West End and City. With a traditional feel, all staff are welcoming and polite.
The hotel was undergoing some refurbishment (decorating) which meant a detour to our room, which if I am picky sort of detracted from the luxury aspect of the stay. Also, although they tried to accommodate a 'quiet' room, it wasn't!
All the staff we met were very helpfull! We look forward to a return journey :)
The only small thing we noticed on the negative side was our room when you first entered smelt funny! But within seconds we either got use to it or it faded. Perhaps a damp smell. But the was the only thing everything else was excellent.
The atmosphere was luxury - location walking distance to everything - Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey etc., Staff very attentive. Would definitely stay here again.
I liked the location and the courtyard - we had 5 th floor room over courtyard . Staff v helpful.
The wi- fi in the room was v bad - better in the Lobby but still weak
My wife booked the hotel for my birthday, she organised the hotel to make me a cake which was amazing. The room, the staff, location, ambience was all amazing. Will be coming back to stay!
Hotel most impressive in every respect. Good sized rooms; excellent staff (Taj usually are) and service; very good breakfast.
St James is a lovely part of London, albeit not always convenient for my meetings. However it's worth the extra 5 minutes on the tube as the hotel is so welcoming.
The given room, was quite old. Due to external noice was difficult to sleep. We asked for a queen size bed and we received twin beds. The day after nobody asked about the staying.
Off the main hustle and bustle, yet within walking distance of some key tourist spots.
Breakfast room way too small as staff try their best to deal with organization.
Room very comfortable Constant hot water Tea & coffee facilities One of the porters was very friendly & helpful - a bit of hospitality makes life a lot easier. Location excellent- a short walk from Buckingham palace & Westminister
Breakfast far too expensive; ridiculous rate (over twenty pounds) There wasn't anything to do in the hotel.. We had to go out every night to find our own entertainment I found the staff quite unhelpful & dismissive. They really did not seem to be professionals in the hospitality industry. Even though I requested the heating on - when I arrived the room was ice cold & didn't warm up until several hours later The room was a bit expensive for what we got- a small bed & a room with a window that opened into a cement wall - no view Cocktails far too expensive in the hotel bar
The staff were extremely helpful, the location is excellent
The train noise due to proximity of station (but the location is excellent, I just had problems sleeping)
The location is great - a safe, quiet street just a few blocks from Buckingham Palace. All of the staff who helped me were wonderful - friendly and helped with exactly what I needed. St. James Park is the closest Tube Station. From there it was easy to access Westminster Abbey/Big Ben, Tower of London/London Bridge, and Piccadilly Circus. There are excellent breakfast cafes within a block's walk. Our favorite was the Royal Quarter Cafe.
There was construction going on on the back side of the hotel and that woke us up a couple of times. Not the hotel's fault though.
staf +/- OK food +/- OK
The room was sub standard; noice draft small window zero view etc
I ordered a masala omlette. It came very greasy and flat as if made by a child. Wasn't tasty at all.
Location, service, rooms and facilities as well as excellent buffet breakfast.
We were so disappointed with being advised to take your service to the airport, when it turned out to be twenty pounds more expensive than an ordinary taxi, which we had arranged already. Not a good way to end an otherwise lovely stay in your establishment.
Slow elevators outdated decor confusing layout of public spaces Restaurant too small for all guests at breakfast time. Sent to ballroom
St. James' Court provides an exceptional holiday base with friendly, professional staff and excellent facilities.
My overall feeling was good. The historical building is huge and very stylish, old good England as you always imagine it. My (standard) room was incredibly light, with 2 (!) windows, such unusual thing in London, and also spacy. Nice big single bed. Location perfect for discovering London, just next to the St James Park and near the tube station. Fast complimentary wi-fi, complimentary water.
Construction works right under my window made my stay very uncomforable, I couldn´t work (which was bad as I travelled fo business) and also the noisy tube under the building and noisy air-condition in the room didn´t let me sleep. I also had some issue with he room service, didn´t get what I requested several times (basic things such as shower gel, vanity kit, tea bags) - in a hotel of such category I would expect a better service. The staff at the reception and in the lobby was very nice on the contrary. Furniture worn-out, especially in the bathroom. Cheap tea.
I loved the downstairs areas, hospitality, reception, restaurants, etc. service and hospitality were oustanding
I thought the rooms were nice, but could be upgraded a bit and the hallways to the rooms were a bit run down. (could use some more interesting art work along the way to and into the rooms. also the view was non existent from our room, not a big deal though.
Excellent Location, Superb service and thank you for the birthday cake !
Great location just opposite Buckingham Palace also bear in mind that the subway station is 10min walk away.
I was actually really looking forward to my first stay with Taj being an hotelier. However, I was given an unrenovated room and it looked a bit old with a need to be freshen up. Moreover, there was an unfortunate bad smell in the room during the whole stay. Line at breakfast between 8 and 9am was pretty long and guests had to wait to be seated. Breakfast buffet was ok but nothing special for a Taj hotel.
