Good value for money and location good wood stay again
Well working heating - optimal temperature in the premises. Friendly and competent staff preparing breakfast.
5 cockroaches spotted in 6 days. Leaking toilet making noise throughout the night.
The staff was very accommodating to our needs and placed us on the ground floor so we didn't have to deal with stairs. It was convenient to walk to the places we wanted to see.
Late night customers were a little noisy coming in.
the staff, the breakfast, the location
the walls were musty, the room smell
In good reach of town. Very cosy room staff very nice lovely. Really enjoyed the brk
Everything was lovely
Proximity and ease of getting into Oxford was good. Parking was adequate but tight.
The linen on the beds was damp when we arrived, we had two rooms with their own bathroom. One the hot water didn't work, the other had the pipes from the communal bathroom through it so you could hear every toilet flush/shower.
Cosy and well appointed room, very quiet at the back, top of the house. Tea making facilities, Sky TV, very comfortable bed, adequate shower and bathroom with supplies of shampoo, body wash etc. excellent breakfast. Able to park off road in front of the building.
The initial impression, driving up, was not good. Tired paintwork both outside and in the hallway. Don't let that put you off because the room and the breakfast was very good.
We could take a cup of coffie.
Dirty floor, broken furniture, lights not working, lightning struck the electrical outlet, no pressure in the shower either scalding hot or cold, taped remotes, 100 TV channels of which 4 channels worked. In the breakfast room there was cobwebs on the walls, dirty crockery, floor ..... Please dont book this B & B
Good wifi, nice management, excellent breakfast. Good location and nice area.
Disgusting living circumstances. We were put in our own house. The door was boarded up with old mattresses and beds outside. The Beds were old and worn. There was a fridge in our room full of mould. One wardrobe had collapsed and one shelf wasn't even put in properly. Dust and grime lay on the windowsills and sides. The kitchen was unclean, with old dishes and pans stacked in the sink. The shower curtain had mould all the way down. The kitchen shelf was covered in dust, mould and crumbs. The bathroom was old and rusted. VERY bad living circumstances and not remotely happy or impressed.
We waited 20 minutes before front door was opened for us. The room is desperate for redecoration. We decided not to have breakfast as worried about cleanness of dishes and plates. Night sleep was ruined by somebody talking loudly till 3a.m.
Bed was comfortable and clean. Breakfast food was good.
Room carpet dirty. Breakfast room very cramped. Staff not very attentive.
Quality and state of rooms.
- Convenient access to buses into town (literally at the doorstep)
- Keys to open/lock room would often get stuck - The bathroom had 'complimentary' toiletries consisting of bottles from previous guests' leftovers - Walls, floor, switches all looked dirty - Dirty towels which weren't changed from day to day - Blanket had a rip in it - All furniture looked like it'd been taken from the freebies section of gumtree/craigslist - Felt itchy sitting/sleeping in the rooms - Rooms had too much furniture in them and felt cramped - Shower pressure was comparable to washing myself with a £1 water pistol - Could hear other people walking about the hallway/talking from their room from my own
very comfy bed, impeccable shower, tea/coffee making facilities and cookies. The owner was very kind in waiting for my very late arrival.
wireless patchy, superslow, impossible to work. the breakfast is served in a damp lower ground backroom next to the kitchen, and after 5 min inside everything smelled like old burned grease. the "luggage storage option" is basically dropping your bags under a table in the breakfast area, which hadn't been cleaned in over a week by the look of it.
poor communication with staff prior to stay
Strong smell of food on corridors and bedrooms, awfully organized and small breakfast area, dirty carpets and walls, smelly shared bathrooms, etc, etc... Should not be part of Bookings at all.
Friendly female staff who were running the place
Shabby, needed renovating, and more thorough cleaning in the bedrooms.
Noisy road Lack of parking Needs some TLC
Facilities in the room. I had a double bedroom with en-suite, great size for a guest house. Kettle, hair drier, fridge! iron! amazing for guest house. Goodies in the bathroom good quality. Great wifi. Position excellent for Oxford. Breakfast again quite decent with nice service.
Entrance in the building shocking. My heart sank! Paint flaking everywhere. Registration in the "dining room" with very poorly printed forms to fill in. Owner (?) could be a bit friendlier but think is a culture thing. Minimal channels on TV. Shocking cabling in the room with extensions coming out of extensions.
Not far from town centre Breakfast is good
Wifi is keeping disconnected Tv was not pluged No enough car park i parked my car in a place when i went to drive around and back then there was no space to park When i parked in road i got a parking tickrt
Location is excellent: 5 minutes bus ride to city centre Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable and relatively silent Bathroom outside of the room, but clean and comfortable
The breakfast room is not attractive, we decided to go and have breakfast outside The main bulding as a bit rundown fro the outside, would deserve some refurbishment
uncomplicated staff, complimentary parking and wifi
the breakfast room
The room is very small, could not turn around easily. The facilities in bath room and toilet is insufficient. The corridor is too narrow, could hear the sound from other rooms.
friendly kitchen personal in the morning
It feelt like 5000 people had stayed in my room before but except cleaning nothing was changed/ improved/ repaired. Next time I rather stay more outside and take a bus to city centre (bus system is good in Oxford).
