Score from 341 reviews Very good
Just opposite the Queen's College playing fields and a 10-minute walk from Oxford city centre, the Falcon B&B is within 2 late-Victorian town houses and offers views of the college boathouses.

- the room was clean and tidy - short walk into city centre
- shower did not have running hot water - staff were not knowledgeable and gave no suggestions of what to do - not enough seats in the kitchen for every room at breakfast, even though you are asked to give a time - dining room staff yelled at guests when room was full at breakfast and gave no indication as to what time to come back
I dint like any thing
From the outside looks like a ghost house, under no circumstances stay here. Towels were not clean, stained carpets and dog stool. It was horrified as my children could not sleep until morning.
Great price, added extra's like good selection of tea, coffee, hot choc, yummy biscuits, cooked breakfast. Good location - walked into the centre and back twice and direct bus outside runs to the centre. Had wifi, parking, comfortable beds, TV in room, iron and ironing board
Not particularly welcoming staff, looks a little tired and run down but overall just great value for money!
Very sweet little b&b, the owner was lovely & the breakfast was great.
Opposite a pub!
No en suite Decor Thin walls so you hear every movement in the corridor etc
The neighborhood is not bad. Popular but luvely.
Not clean. No real parking. Awful rooms. Noisy. Very expensive for what it is
Breakfast was ok, but small. Location is reasonably close to the centre although the area was a bit loud/rough for a family with young children.
Unclear booking process, unsure if en suite or not, unsure if parking reserved. Turned out to be a choice between very grubby en suite room smelling if smoke, or tiny 3 bed room with shared bathroom in a separate house two doors down & across a road. Have to pay up front in cash/debit card. Too expensive £85 per night for what felt like student digs. Would very much not recommend staying here as a family. Got the impression it was owned by a landlord who decided to convert student digs into a B&B at minimum cost for maximum profit.
The friendly owner directed us to one of his other properties on arrival, and offered us two very pleasant rooms, one a family room and the other a double. The family room was near the road and a bit of traffic noise. Everything was very clean and beds well made. Lovely cooked breakfast, and the owner made us very welcome and couldn't do enough to help.
There was a slight problem with the drainage from the shower, and we had problems initially locking the door, but managed in the end.
The staffs are friendly.
The room conditions are very disappointed and it is not same as the photos shown in the website. The room seem like arranged in the last minute.
Good location, free parking Comfortable double bed
the location near the centre
only two bathrooms for six triple/double rooms
The Athena Guest House is actually in 2 buildings. The first one was quite tired and run down and I wondered what we had let ourselves in for especially as we were going to have to share a bathroom... We were asked if we were having breakfast and said no. The man then gave us directions to their 2nd building. Then 2nd one looked like a newer addition. The room was basic but freshly cleaned, laminated flooring, and had a small en suite shower room. We were right at the top so I think we were next to their living quarters but that meant it was very quiet.
The first building.
Very friendly owner..offered us free breakfast that was not originally included.
We did not feel safe in this area. . we walked to downtown, crossed over the bridge...totally different night &day..Everything was beautiful, historic & quaint.Compared to the other Guesthouses from our trip this one was very dirty & cost around the same.
Street parking available nearby
Very small room and not nice and the bathroom also. Dark with no window facing the street
The DVD player ,the comfort of the bed ,the fridge
The shower leaked slightly but when they were told they sorted it
beds were comfortable. Breakfast was simple but well cooked and sustaining.
noisy pub across the road. very low pressure on the shower. not much room to move around the room or place suitcases. Not enough room in the dining room to accommadate guests requiring breakfast.
The bed was surprisingly comfortable and there was a good supply of tea & coffee in the room. The young girls serving breakfast were polite and cheerful.
The decor was disgustingly tatty and worn with paint and plaster falling off everywhere. Carpets and rugs were filthy and thread bare. Electrical wiring totally illegal with wires taped across stairs and electric wires coming into show cubicle.(we didn't risk using the shower ) Every thing was held together with cellotape and bungy straps. Worst of all was rudeness of the ? owner . No greeting , no introduction, just took our money ! I would say to anyone intending to stay here YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. If do risk it , I would recommend taking your own fire extinguisher and only book a downstairs room , then you may survive the inevitable fire.
Pictures broken with glass hanging out. Room dirty, cobwebs on walls, paint peeling off. No room at breakfast had to wait for someone to finish before you could sit down. Sanitary ware not removed from previous occupant. Parking very difficult
Shower cubical smelt of drains alarm went off 0300 in the morning and then a constant beeping sound then the electric went off to much noise you could hear the owners arguing all the time left after 1st night without breakfast as it wasn't ready due to the power cut
Everything. I don't expect much from a value hotel with shared facilities, but this was just ridiculous. Firstly, a rude welcoming by the staff. Then the room, well it was just terrible. I have stayed in better hostels. The noise outside the window, and lack of normal things you expect in a hotel room of any price range. The shared bathrooms: one was okay, the other was filthy with a massive poo sitting in the toilet that wouldn't flush. Just delightful, don't you think? TV didn't work either... I think you would have to be a person with very bad taste and a general disregard for the value of money to rent a room here.
the choice of hot drinks
The manager is very nice and accomadating.
Rooms and the facilities are a bit tight.
Good location, not far from the city and at a good price aswell. Will definitely use again next year.
The room was comfortable enough and the wifi was not bad. The girls in charge of the breakfast service were really kind and the breakfast was good.
The owner made us pay on the spot, just as we got there, but could not remember us from one day to the next. They took away the linen and the last night of our stay we had no sheets on the bed. They threw away personal stuff we had left in the bathroom. Not important stuff, but still!!
the room was good, clean so was the shared bathroom.
neigbours can be a problem if they decide to stay up for fun ..sleep and snore loud..watch TV!!. its basically a small place..
