Excellent location, friendly staff, excellent value for money, comfy bed, spotlessly clean, superb breakfast despite a power cut forcing us to have breakfast by candlelight which was a great experience, the breakfast staff made the whole thing enjoyable. We will be staying here again, I can't praise the hotel enough.
Nothing, its perfect.
Almost everything, wonderful Ambience, lovely staff, good Food. Thank you.
The pillows in my room were flat & therefore uncomfortable.
liked the atmosphere as soon as we entered-felt away from stress and everything
Helpful staff and excellent location
i was not feeling well having had previous fall resulting in severe backpain, so experience marred by own prior condition
Lovely location.Bar meals were good value and lovely staff.
Superior rooms poor quality. Both beds and mattresses needed to be replaced. One room on the ground floor smelt damp and one room was not ready for us although reception gave us the key.
The shower in room 104 goes from cold to scalding depending if other rooms are using cold water. Danger of burns. We would not have stayed a second night. A pity
Bathrooms very dated.
An excellent place to relax, quiet, beautiful, I loved all. The staff are attentive and friendly. I surely recommend this hotel and I will return there more often. I love it
Lots of character Friendly staff, very helpful Very good food. Excellent local brewed ales Cosy attached pub to the hotel.
Surrounding grounds Scenic areas around
Bed was terrible Bathroom was dated and old and claustrophobic Hallways smell old and over powered with carpet freshner Windows old and paint coming off Not really worth the $$$$
Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is a dog friendly hotel too and the location is excellent for nearby attractions.
The decor and fittings like the bathrooms have seen better days. It is a bit shabby in places. But if you can get over that it is fine
Location Friendly staff Good value Awesome pub
On arrival I was taken aback when the receptionist told me that my reservation through Booking.com had not been received! However, full credit to her for putting me at ease by telling me not to worry as there was availability that night. We had lunch in the Bothy Bar and ate there in the evening and the food was excellent. Room was very comfortable. A nice old fashioned comfy hotel.
Can't think of anything I didn't like about the hotel. Only problem was the booking with Booking.com. They haven't exactly instilled me with confidence, only disappointment so I'll likely not be using them again!
The location is marvellous. The rooms were large. Very good breakfast. Courteous staff.
My daughter had a sleepless night as her room was next to the top of the stairs, and she kept hearing people coming into her room - she thought. her room was totally dark. dark décor. dark lamps and dark lampshades. My room was brighter, but the bed headboard kept moving, and the room was in need of refurbishment.
Great dining room. Commodious bedroom.
The very small bathroom.
Staff were very good, Good location, easy to get to other centres. Parking excellent. Comfortable and clean.
Some areas needed a coat of paint.
Pub for food and local beer. Good night sleep. Bath.
The breakfast was excellent and the room was beautiful.
We liked the meal in the bar but felt it was a captive audience and a little expensive. There was also a dog allowed in the eating area.
Excellent dining room and breakfast! Lots of options for eating until 9pm Very impressive building and interior! Scottish at its best!
Great location and atmosphere
Beds and furniture in bedrooms need an overhaul. Beds lumpy, chairs had castors coming off. Curtains were torn.
Initially a bit grumpy but staff really helpful
Too few staff
Loved the baronial dining hall and the nearness of some great walks
easy to locate by road
bed was hard
