I was very impressed by the way that the dining room supervisor, Howard, ran the restaurant.
He was definitely in charge of things and operated with great efficiency and diplomacy.
He is a man who gets things done, and is a great credit to your hotel.
You are very lucky to have him.
All the staff were VERY helpful and just could not do enough to help my disabled wife in her wheelchair.
We both really enjoyed our stay at the Athol Palace Hotel, and would definitely come back again.
My wife and I were in room 101 which is adapted for a disabled person, she is disabled.
The sink in the toilet was at wheelchair height as expected, but it was very small and the top of the sink was below crotch level, so the water in the sink was even lower than that.
The first time I tried to shave I had to go down on my hands and knees on the toilet floor to wash my face, and even then it was difficult due to the protruding tap spout and a small sink.
I had to go to the toilets in the bar to shave during the rest of my visit, and even there it was not satisfactory because there were no plugs for the sinks.
Something needs to be done to remedy this, it's just not acceptable for a guest at a hotel of this standard to have to kneel on the floor in order to have a shave.
In a room for the disabled, both guests are not always disabled, maybe two sinks are required.
Apart from this sink problem, I really enjoyed our stay at your hotel, and especially with having our room next to the library at the end of a corridor where it was very peaceful.
