Breakfast times were too early and choice was limited. No other facilities at the hotel (we didn't try out the restaurant as it was closed most of the days we were there).
Room was a good size, including good bathroom. Quiet and comfortable. Free wifi was very good. Price was excellent. Recommend as a base to explore the Island, as long as you don't mind driving through the narrow lanes to get there.
Clean, warm, friendly , excellent value
Not knowing that I would not be able to get food on the 2 days of my stay. Arrived Sunday at about 8p.m. to be informed that there would be no restaurant facilities until Tuesday. Not knowing the island meant that I went very hungry that night(not even a biscuit in the room) Very noisy above me - every time I drifted off to sleep I was woken by a herd of elephants who ran across the ceiling, banged a few doors and ran back again!!
Lovely building in a quiet part of Guernsey. Breakfast was good (thank goodness) and the owner very pleasant
Not having the room I wished - but fully understandable as I booked late and someone beat me to it !! Restaurant closed for dinner both nights, ( had planned to invite my brother ).
Atmosphere & character of the hotel Location Staff
Peaceful rural location, accessible to south and west coastal regions. Comfortable traditional accommodation and good quality good.
I could not get the shower to work and had to have a bath.
The staff were very friendly. the room was nice and clean and comfortable. The wifi was used and very good, I was able to complete work. The food was excellent and restaurant very comfortable.
The room is a little dated in appearance, although it was clean and simple as mentioned. The car park is very small, typical of Guernsey in fairness but tricky when you have an estate car. Closing the restaurant on Monday night was a bit disappointing as the food is so good. The staff smoking at the front of the building looks unprofessional, plus the smell of smoke is unpleasant to a non-smoker like me.
The food was great and well presented, plus the staff were friendly when greeting me. The room was clean and well presented, with simple decor. The location is stunning and very quiet, with a beautiful view in the morning, the owner was very helpful on guiding me as sat-nav is not helpful in the Channel Islands.
Excellent food in the restaurant and friendly staff
Attitude and helpfulness of staff Gorgeous food
Parking a bit tight, but we managed.
Very pleasant location, lovely small hotel, would stay again.
Bedroom on the tight side with washbasin in the corner, otherwise all fine.
High standard of resturant. Very good quality of food.
the staff were very pleasant, room was clean comfy bed breakfast quite adequate, we didn't have a meal at the hotel but what we saw of the menu it looked very nice, value for money.
It was difficult to find when leaving the airport, even on such a small island. The road names were not clear. However, once I had located it there were no more problems.
Small and family run. Very helpful and friendly staff. I opted for a bed and breakfast stay but it was lovely to have the option to dine there every evening in their very well attended restaurant. The food was cooked to perfection and reasonably priced
Welcome was as if we were putting them out as we arrived lateish due to the Ferry times. We were not offered any food at all. We were not shown to our room, it was just pointed out to us. Staff were not very pleasant at all, not the same as two years ago.
Location. visual surroundings and Hotel decoration. Parking.
We was extremely disappointed by bar closing early. On our last night we came back to the hotel at 9.30pm hoping to get a drink but the place was locked up and in darkness. We had to fumble in the dark to find the keyhole to the main door......and needless to say .... in bed for ten pm.
We liked everything about the hotel. The proprietor and staff was very friendly. The location was far away from all amenities, but beautiful.
Leaving... Really sad to leave ! Apart from that, everything else I absolutely loved !
Arrival and check-in : simple, easy and friendly The room was clean, bright, pleasant smelling - fell in love with it immediately The food The owner and the staff were adorable Easy going, friendly atmosphere of the place
No complaints whatsoever.
Fantastic hotel and staff were wonderful. Restaurant meals delicious.
Breakfast portions were a bit small, 1 sausage, 1 egg, 1 rasher of bacon and half a tomato. Fruit uninteresting. Not good enough
Evening meal good but felt it was a little over priced
No complaints whatsoever.
Loved everything about our stay here. Beautiful food for breakfast and dinner, good location, comfortable rooms. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
Quality of cooked breakfast a little disappointing, and choice of items limited. If you may be returning late, ask for a front door key or you may be locked out, as we were one night. However, we were let in by knocking and shouting.
A pleasant welcome by the proprietor, and generally a comfortable stay, the hotel in a remote, quiet wooded area.
The chiming of the church clock (24 hours a day) and the proximity of the road with it's attendant agricultural traffic.
The peace and quiet of the location, the old-world, rustic charm of the original buildings, the extensive, well-tended gardens, the comfortable beds and the well-appointed en-suite bathroom facilities. The staff were friendly, helpful and unobtrusive.
Restaurant is 1st class for evening meal and breakfast
the bells on the first night, after that, they went unnoticed
the breakfast, gardens, the quaintness, friendly staff
5 minutes from the bus stop. Very clean and nice room. Comfortable beds.
Was nice to get away from it all in a rural location
