the actual hotel staff were really helpful and very polite the hotel was very nice as was the room and the bar area. we only stayed one night so can't comment on much more.
the breakfast was awful I and thestaff who served us i couldn't even bring myself to try the egg it looked disgusting I feel the breakfast let the hotel down.
The staff were excelent and very helpful - nothing was too much trouble - made you feel very welcome and executed their duties very professionally. The rooms were inviting and the decor lovely.
The hotel is low level and rooms were spread out with a lot of walking from either the lift or stairs to get to your rooms, a bit of a maze.
Nice room and was clean
There was never any1 at the bar And there was music playing till late
Clean and tidy and very comfortable beds
Didn't like the fact the wedding played loud music until the early hours of the night and couldnot get much sleep
Very clean room. Good bed and quiet for a good nights sleep.
My room was in a remote part of the hotel. Apart from one lift, I had to carry heavy luggage up multiple sets of stairs. The staff were mainly disinterested. The restaurant staff rushed me through my meal, whipping plates away immediately after my last bite of food. In comparison, the premier inn Central had pleasant and engaging staff, the hotel was better located and there, I didn't feel isolated in a soulless place.
Location, staff, room all fantastic. Breakfast was equally as good and to top it all off, brilliant value. Cant recommend it high enough.
Rooms have been refurbished, restaurant food is good.
Staff need training in customer service, esp. on front desk. We had Miss misery on check in...
Price of breakfast!
Location and excellent breakfast.
Small bathroom, noise levels, unhelpful reception staff.
Lovely room Great bar, especially outside area Nice breakfast - lots of choice Very helpful at reception
Room overlooked other rooms so had to keep curtains shut most of the time but this was the only issue
Very smart, clean rooms with comfortable beds.
Service in the restaurant was a bit hit and miss. It seemed to be a training night for the Junior staff. Also there was no hot water in the morning for a shower. This was a 9.30am!! There was no explanation when asked why.
Room too hot, couldn't turn off radiator in summer
Room nice and clean
The restaurant service was very poor. Although breakfast was supposed to be up until 11am by the time we went down around 10am there was a shortage of items to choose from. The cereals were short of imagination and the fresh orange juice container was empty. The full English breakfast was cold and some of the items seemed to have run out. When we found a table that was not cluttered in dirty dishes it did not have enough cutlery laid out. We sat at a table which was next to one which had dirty dishes piled high on it. Very disappointed as I felt that the cost was a little high for the attention given by staff. The bar was so slow and it was quite some wait before being served there and it also had staff that could not work the coffee machine so the only one who could work it spent so much time at it that the bar itself suffered.
e very thing
nothing to dislike
The young lady on the reception when I arrived was very friendly and informative. Nice sized room and bed, reasonable prices in the bar. Great thick curtains, that made the room totally dark.
For some reason there was a dirty white sock pulled over and totally covering the smoke alarm in room 107..... Very strange...!!!
Gem of a hotel a stones throw from the M1 but little noise! Easy access to London and M25 - ideal base. We visited Whipsnade and London. Great for a weekend break - pleasant and helpful staff - great breakfast. Great value for money - not our first visit, it's our hotel of choice when visiting London
Finding your room can be a challenge - it's a bit of a maze! Disappointed they couldn't make the cocktail I wanted because there was no mint - staff commented they hadn't had any the previous evening too - could they not have bought some ?
Cold shower no towels
Room was great comfy and bath was a real plus after a long day
Staff were not very helpful and need to learn how to smile , goes a long way
The look of the hotel was lovely, very comfortable & breakfast was lovely.
Our room was incredibly hot so we requested a fan from reception @ 8.30pm as we went to dinner. The gentleman advised it would be in our room when we returned after dinner. After sampling the lovely cocktails we went back to our room which was still very hot & no fan. We had to request several times until finally it was brought to the room at 12.30am, 4 hours later!!
We enjoyed staying at the hotel over two evenings, breakfast was very nice, meals generally good, staff pleasant.
Room was a little small, couldn't swing a cat in the ensuite.
The rooms are beautiful and very clean and comfortable.
I've stayed at this hotel twice, booking through booking.com. The first time, the hotel was unaware of our reservation, but found us the two rooms we needed, with an upgrade. To avoid this happening again, I called the hotel prior to travelling, and again, they had not received our booking (made again through booking.com, with whom I have never had problems like this, despite having used them numerous times). Upon arrival at the hotel, there was still no room reservation, despite me having forwarded the booking email. We were then told there was 1 room booked (we had booked 2). It was eventually sorted out, but this has put me off using the hotel again, especially as, on checking out, there was an error with the room rate. This is a shame, as it provides comfortable accommodation at a convenient location, and at a good price, near to family, whom we visit every 3 months or so. I would be interested to know what the hotel is going to do to sort out this issue with booking.com!
bathroom smelt mouldy. Booking was very muddled and reception staff not very helpful about it. Wait staff weren't very well trained and kept forgetting parts of our order. room was very hot and too noisy with the window open.
Room was great, bathroom spotless. Someone was at reception even though we arrived very late and very efficient.
We had two single beds and this room was a fair old trek from reception....good job we didn't have suitcases
clean and tidy, good food, good location
too warm, small single bed when I asked for a double
Check in receptionist who changed rooms to give us a room with a bath as I suffer with back pain and like to start the day in a hot bath. Restaurant food and staff
No hot water in the morning and no morning paper delivered, despite being ordered the day before. When I mentioned at reception (different person) I felt I was fobbed off with scripted excuses of resetting boilers and morning paper disasters. Then after turning away and turning back I saw smirking receptionist which gave the impression they have heard this before and you just don't care. Really disappointed after a previous great day In and out of the hotel. Room 240 -bath water cold from 7 am until 11 am when we checked out. When there's a problem you should do something about it not just wait and hope nobody else mentions it.
